Starfield Nintendo Switch 2 rating has now appeared

GoldenEye98

posts news as their odd job

The strongest evidence yet of Starfield coming to Nintendo Switch 2 has come to light following a new rating discovery.

Over in Taiwan, a new entry was just added for the game on Nintendo's console. The classification doesn't include any notable information outside of that and it's unclear when the port would release.

Previous rumors have hinted that Starfield could end up on Nintendo Switch 2. Speculation goes as far back as last summer, with NateTheHate claiming that Xbox had plans to bring the title over. Last month, NateTheHate reiterated that the port is "in development but it hasn't been a smooth process."

With all these leaks and rumors and ratings a Direct is obviously on the horizon. Either a general Direct or a partner showcase. I just don't know why Nintendo is holding their cards so close to their chest right now. Just announce the damn thing and be over with it.

Agreed. There's no way this is all a coincidence. I'd be extremely surprised if a Direct isn't announced within the next 2 weeks.

Regarding Starfield, I played 20 hours of it on Game Pass when it released and tapped out. I wasn't feeling it, probably due to the massive and growing hype that didn't really deliver on its promise. A bit disappointing. But seeing as Bethesda has continuously worked on it with new updates, dlc and a brand new expansion, I feel like jumping in again. As long as it's a competent port and not a disaster, as the rumors say.

I'm not particularly interested in Starfield, but if this is true and the port wasn't canceled, then that's great news for the future of ambitious ports on the platform.

Having a Blast™ with Starfield on PS5 Pro. If the Switch 2 version is decent, I'll probably pick it up on sale.

I love Starfield but I wouldn't trust a NS2 port. This game needs a decent PC to really shine.

That said I respect the effort of porting it, can't be easy.

The UFS storage in the Switch 2 itself isn't that bad compared to modern nvme ssd's, at least in gaming performance. They are obviously going to go for a gkc and not a cart with the 2 expansions or the standard edition without them.

The problem is that the game is filled with these short load screens which is very annoying and breaks immersion.

It may not be up to them. Remember, this isn't a Nintendo game, they could be sued for even doing that btw.

Nintendo is right to wait for their direct, their only deal was to market that game for the 3rd party, not leak it out or spread rumors etc. This is a wise choice.

I am actually pretty excited to see how bad it's going to be.
Thinking Think GIF

Truth. I own it on PC and love it, but even I wouldn't buy this on Switch 2 or PS5 for that matter. Its a fun game, i don't know if its something I'd want on the go though and on a weaker system with a game that already has bugs.

So....I do not think this is ideal for those who may want this game, maybe it makes sense to buy it else where. The game already has issues on its lead platform, i don't see that getting better with weaker hardware.

About this time next year Switch 2 support is going to look pretty good in terms of available software. The upscaling and other related technologies really make a big difference in terms of what can be ported to this new system versus the old one. I think Nintendo is in a pretty good position all things considered right now.

1.) I am very interested in seeing how Starfield and Oblivion remake run on NS2.

2.) Nintendo's marketing has been baffling to me these last several years. Truly odd.

MS should extend Play Anywhere to Nintendo. Give those physical game card users a free Xbox digital code for playing on other devices.

They can try to release it onevery device on the big blue marble, but the problem is, this ain't 2011 and Starfield sure as hell ain't Skyrim. If at all, it's a worse Oblivion with outer space textures, but everything else sucks just as much.

So good luck with milking that cash cow, it's been long butchered already.

Bethesda, the older I get, the more I despise this company.

Good luck trying to convince anyone to downgrade to Bethesda's slop when no mans sky already exists with its endless free fun updates.

Will be fun to see how badly it runs on sw2 as people play the, is it looking like shit because Bethesda or is it looking like shit because sw2 is struggling game.

Nintendo wanted all the focus to be on the new Mario movie, so after the movie releases in Japan there will be a direct.

I'm curious to see how she'll run on the Switch 2. On the Deck you're looking at 20-40fps on low. You can lock it to 40fps with some medium settings using Lossless Scaling. This would need some heavy NVIDIA DLSS magic on Switch

in first-party offerings-wise ?

Oddly enough, so far 3rd parties are carrying the system besides Mario Kart World, which is very uncommon for a Nintendo system
Just Nintendo's silence in general. Regardless of 1st or 3rd parties. Even if the rumor is true that the new Nintendo leadership does not like Directs, their overall lack of communication has become poor.
