The movie reviews are the dumbest thing. Stick to tech, yo.

Right now, on The Verge's front page, there is:

1. An article about an SNL skit (that was not related to tech at all).
2. An article about a new 24 trailer.
3. An article about anti-drugged driving ads in Colorado.
4. An article about a Mexican drug lord.
5. An article about the changes to the SATs.
6. A whole section about Flappy Bird.
7. A whole section about the Oscars.

Several of these are just short blurbs that link to other websites. The Verge, its staff, and anyone who defends this bullshit can go fuck themselves.

EDIT:
In journalism, you’ll sometimes hear articles about hard topics referred to as “vegetables” or “the spinach” — the idea being that readers don’t like those subjects but they should be reading about them anyway. Our view is that there’s no important topic that can’t be made interesting to the audience. If we’re writing about something important — something that matters in people’s lives — and we’ve made it boring then that failure is on us, not on our readers.

You know what this means, right? Brace for important legislation and foreign affairs crises to be explained in pop-culture analogies.

I stopped visiting the verge because there's too much bullshit to filter through. They need to go back to basics instead of trying to be the one stop shop for everything in the world.

So Im not the only one. Movie trailers and all that dumb stuff. No clue why they put that crap on their site. Glad that Vox has another outlet for it now. Hopefully it cleans up Verge.

So everything and nothing, great.
You've read Wonkblog before, right?

Same question: You've read Wonkblog, right? It sounds like it'll be something like Dylan Matthews "The Tuition is too Damn High" 10-part series but on a larger scale with stuff like healthcare and taxes.

Oh man I love analogies! If there's one thing the political sphere needs more of it's simplifying complex issues enough so they fit stupid analogies even your apolitical buddies on FB/Twitter can understand. It always leads to great intelligent discussions.
