Did anyone read Revenge?? (gory book from Image yesterday)

That shit was insane,, had me cringing,, and now I'm curious for issue #2 :( lol

Ah no i forgot all about that! Will dl when I get back on wifi. I did pick up Cryptozoic Man which just finished up - that's a fucked up comic book too. By Bry and Walt from Tell Em Steve Dave / Comic Book Men.

100% listen to Tell Em Steve Dave if you like CBM. It's like the TV show, only utterly uncensored and unsanitised for weird US TV audiences. Bry is fantastic on there and Walter's laugh is brilliant. Def in my top 3 podcasts.

Would be hilarious if what's playing out now results in a reborn Parker that's 95% Ock memories.
The thing about reliving Otto's memories is that he'll go through all those fights with Spider-Man.

Peter will regain his identity and some control of his body just long enough to prevent "Norman Osborn" turning Anna Maria into Gwen Stacy MK2. Octavius then realises his inferiority to the genuine article and restores control of Parker's body to its rightful owner.

This week's Aquaman has convinced me that we need more comics about superheroes attending their high school reunions. I wonder if
all those rescues Arthur says he doesn't remember are setting up for something or are just a fun bit of characterization.
Parker so far feels far more focused on character and levity where Johns was more into worldbuilding and serious drama. The book is different now, but still really good.

ARGUS finally started to move in the 11th hour - of course - but it was probably the most entertaining issue. Where was this Steve Trevor these last four issues? He actually started to come across as pretty cool. Even the standard "I love and miss Diana-chan soooo much, uguu" scene actually worked.
The Cheetah jobbing is hella suspect, but whatever. Not going to think about power levels. Nope.

Superman: Lois Lane was cool and I want more of this.

Wasn't feeling Deadly Class as much this time around. It still looked fantastic, but none of the story did anything for me.

Hawkeye....damn. Just...damn.

Parker's first three issues of Aquaman have been very good. I like the kind of monster of the week approach he's taking as a means to explore Arthur and Mera on a more personal level. I'm thrilled that Pelletier stuck around, his art is a great fit for the book.

Yo, Jedeye, you may hate the all mighty omnibus but you're a good man for pimping TESD. My favorite podcast for years. Despite the somewhat dodgy first issue of Cryptozoic Man, these dudes are passionate about the material and busted ass to get these comics out, so it's damn fun to read. Also, Walt's laugh is one of the best fucking laughs I've ever hears and it's infectious as hell.

I actually just tweeted abuse at them. I remember them talking about the comic for ages but I got the impression it was just some book they got a deal on. They should have stressed way harder that it was BY THEM! It wasn't until I randomly saw it on the digishelf that I looked at who the creators were. Jeez guys, toot your horns a lil bit!

But yeah TESD 4 lyfe. Have you heard Q's pod with Sal, What Say You? Also excellent stuff.

But Jedeye, they never ask their fans
ants
for anything....haha. I just felt like this was the comic that would bring Bry back to the living and get his creative juices going, which it seems to have!

What Say You is interesting because Q and Sal are fun to listen to, but they like that they have a show together and that they get guests so much that sometimes it just turns into a giddy, almost school-girl type show sometimes. Like, you can really see how a Walt is necessary as a fulcrum--if it ever gets too positive or too negative, Walt is always there to balance shit out and keep the boys on their shit and grounded, and I think What Say You just needs a bit more grounding.

Yeah totally. Walt is like a dude with a big pin, just waiting to pop some balloons :D

WSY is worth it just for Sal being Sal though. That story about him in the cornfield scared out of his mind was just too funny. And the other week when he told that drunk girl she was a piece of human trash lol. Do you watch Impractical Jokers too? I think it might actually be the funniest thing that's ever been on TV.

Pie and Beans

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
I guess I am probably alone in thinking Uncanny Avengers essentially becoming an
Elseworld
book feels a little cheap.
At least it undoes all the stuff I didn't like.

First Doop now this.

Reading Castaway in Dimension Z for the first time. Pretty interesting so far, never been too big on Romita Jr.'s art but it's a cool book. The kid doesn't look like he's a year old though and it's bugging me.

Isn't he still doing the Oz books? I'm sure they're good, but we need this man in mainstream comics asap. Such a great style.
Yep, just incredible fucking style. Brah just uses straight pen, no pencils. Reread the article and it said ongoing, but I remember there was confusion during Doop's announcement.

.....i'm getting that Rocket Raccoon Young book, the art will be wonderful as wallpaper for my ipad when i'm bored of stuff.

now to figure out what to drop....probably will skip Future's End and just assume the future doesn't end.

So in on that Rocket book. My wife reads Young's Oz comics and they are absolutely beautiful. I'm happy to see him doing more than just baby variant covers.

Barbelith!

I went back there the other day to see if anyone had any insight on the contents of the new deluxe editions and it's kinda ghost towny.

:(

They've finished those up.

Can't wait for this. Been a huge fan of his style since I first clapped eyes on his work but wasn't really interested in reading the Oz books. Definitely getting in on this.

Dude, do you mean the forum? Because I discovered that place like 3 years ago, got super excited, tried to register, and then got an email that said that they weren't accepting registration because they're essentially dead. Sad day.

Liked Deadly Class 2 a lot more than #1.

Gonna miss Aaron's Wolverine and the X-Men.

I'm basically just riding out Superior Spider-Man to get to the end at this point.
Why does Potto make a big deal out of Goblin 'knowing everything' about who he is with the Carly reveal when we learned last issue that Goblin....knows everything about who he is?

Black Science was entertaining.
Kadir is a bastard.

Chew solid as always.
Glad we're getting back to the 'writing in the sky' plot point.

Manhattan Projects also still good.
blue alien fight was hilarious. [/spoiler

I've been enjoying the Justice League Dark angle for Forever Evil, but this issue was just ok.

Around these parts, the current ongoing Transformers series are well-loved. More Than Meets the Eye more so than Robots in Disguise. I myself read the first issue of More Than Meets the Eye and kinda loved it. I might need to snatch up the first volume myself before the end of the day.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series are also popular. Both the animated series and the main series are on sale, both of which I've heard good things about.

The first volume of 30 Days of Night is on for two bucks, so I would reckon that's worth checking out for vampire/horror fans. I also hear a lot of good things about Parker, the first two volumes of which are included in the sale.

Bane was better.
