Winter-Spring 2014 Anime |OT3| People incapable of guilt usually do have a good time

is the bunny drop normal set different? I only get the LEs with artbooks.

The standard edition is still a combo pack, but in place of the artbook and thinpaks in a chipboard box is a episode guide leaflet in a normal DVD case without a chipboard box.

This is fine by me, except for the fact that the spindles that hold the discs do not budge when attempting to remove the discs. I literally had to set the case down on a hard flat surface while pressing down with my thumb and forcefully bending the discs out. I was glad I had some spare slim jewel cases for the luckily undamaged discs because there was no way I was going to place them back inside the original packaging.

Better than the first episode, but teasing this impossible-but-best pairing while dumping in a lesbian stalker was so cruel.

The pervert character ended up being quite tolerable, so there's hope for the stalker girl, I suppose.

ive had more than my share of badly packaged discs. In particular the kind you describe where you literally have to bend the disc to take it off the spindle. I usually place the case on soft carpet that bends the spindle down and makes the disc float upward. I can take 5 minutes carefully extracting a disc packaged this way. As a result out of thousands of discs maybe a dozen in my collection have a scratch.

You know, I've seen a number of Spice and Wolf posts but so far no mention of the OP? What's wrong with everyone:

Its a beautiful and memorable opening but in no way compares to that adorable bouncy engrish ED.

I'll never understand how such a product came to be. Who made a disc cover one day, didn't bother to test how easy it is to remove a disc from it, but went ahead and made millions of flawed products. Shame of them.

There was a little cute idea that Sentai had with Squid girl where they designed some little squiggly spindle button that didnt hold discs correctly and most of the shipment got scratched. Rightstuf gave us replacements. I dont think packaging design is a high priority.

People who say they are not a fan of moe confuse me. They are not a fan of thing they have a burning passion for? It makes no sense.

No they are not a fan enough of stuff like this:

They don't find it cute or adorable, most likely because its forced. Its like the characters area acting stupid/clumsy on purpose. Of course this is a big generalisation, there are some decent moe anime out there but its usually not very plot heavy at all.

That's only moe if one finds it moe.

Kobato. 3

Episode in which Kobato plays cupid without realizing it, has a bunch of umbrellas, and gets a free apartment.

Fujimoto continues being an ass who's so wary of everyone, his frown might as well form a physical cross-arm block in front of his face

Oh god yes, please do! For a multitude of reasons!

Also, appearance of totally-not-a-reference-to-Chi-from-Chobits twins

This show and Kill La Kill to me are shows that you must not take at surface level. Gainax have been doing anime for more than 20 years. They were anime fans when they started and watching Gurren and Kill La Kill, it's obvious they still are. Nowadays though, they have the proven talent and can command the budget they want. At this point, they are just taking the piss at every convention they can think of and doing it with a level of talent few have. If you compare Gurren to Attack on Titan, the satire is even more obvious.
It could almost be said that the lack of animation is a nod to the earliest animes that were just a series of manga slides on screen. Obviously, it's because it's cheaper. But watching the barely animated KLK, I couldn't help thinking about the old old old anime.

Good times as always.

Did you just imply that little
Ushio
is not absolutely cute and adorable?!

*eye twitches*

Sure if your using a literal meaning of the word however many people can immediately recognise when an anime is trying to be moe and classify that as moe. Basically when they try too hard to make it cute: blushes everywhere, gargantuan eyes, walking with kness facing inwards ( I have no idea why this is a thing) etc.

Moe has several meanings. My personal definition of it basically means "this is cute to me"
Naturally some shows are both very good and very cute with the moe aesthetic so the notion that moe has no creativity is bunk.

Also even going by the original definition of moe anime has done that a very long time with characters specifically designed to be adorable clumsy and in need of being protected. Even western media uses this idea but they usually disguise it with a sexier character design.

Guess it's time to stop using the literal definition of words then if everyone else gets to do it.

Don't worry, dude. I'm the same way with harem stuff. Anything with more than two female characters = nope

Have you been petitioning anime threads to be called "Japanese cartoon" threads, because that'd be far more accurate?

...wait, what is a thread?

What the fuck does moe even mean anymore.

Though I guess Mako could count as moe. And Nui as the moe many secretly (or not so secretly) wanted to kill all this time.

Perhaps he associates moe with cute bumbling useless girls, saw how incapable Ryuuko was, and made the logical conclusion.

Yeah the crying early in this episode was really unearned. Have no idea why the guy was so upset or why he did what he did. Crying without meaning means nothing to me. You have to give me context and motivation for that emotion. So this dude getting upset early in the episode was pretty unearned and even when they explained it still felt unearned. Jintan I can understand his context and motivation for crying..... whenever he gets around to that. The red head I can understand. Menma I can understand. All those characters have been fleshed out to the point where if they cry or get upset it's earned. This new guy not so much.

Anyways... It was still cool of him to save the red head from
the dude pictured above
. Props to him for helping a friend out in trouble even though (and he even acknowledged this fact) that it was a little cliche.

And that scene with Poppo at Jintan's house talking about helping
Menma going to heaven and why she won't revel herself to him or why he can't see her
was actually sad. In that situation I can understand both characters plights.

Ushio
isn't moe. She's a child. Of course a little girl is gonna be adorable and cute. Children are usually cute and do cute things.

I thought you watched Clannad AS?

I told you man, it was too depressing for me :(. One day I will, I just have to be in the right mood I guess.

Yeah it was silly for me to use a child since they are naturally cute.
