Thor never wears his helmet.
He can grow and shrink in size and has has the proportional strength of an art at whatever size he's at. So just imagine how strong a giant ant would be.I am completely not familiar with this comic series...
For the uninitiated like me, this doesn't really look like it should be taken seriously just based on name alone. It just sounds like a parody to me.
But from what I'm reading here, maybe I should give it a chance...
first marvel flop
I thought Edgar Wright was no longer directing this?
just put this scene in the movie and we're good
I guarantee there's at least one scene where he puts on the old costume, gut spilling out like Mr. Incredible.
Spiderman has an awesome power set, a cool costume, tons of one liners, and doesn't ride actual spiders.
:lolThe heads though. I don't know why but I think they're standing next to each other at a urinal, and he's just realised it's Michael Douglas.
No Wright..not a good movie.
im confused......he has super growth and he can talk to insects?
so like at a moments notice he can summon a swarm of bugs? I guess thats kinda cool. Does he use that power a lot?
also, props to antman for appearing in Evo finals last year with Flocker running hawkeye
I hope they have some killer footage when the time comes, because as it stands it will be an uphill battle to convince people I know to take a movie with a guy who rides ants seriously. Not even throwing shade on the character, I just feel it's a harder sell no matter how much they like superhero movies. I'm curious about how this will develop anyway.
:lol
As disappointed as I am, I feel the whole 'Marvel is evil' thing in this situation might be a bit crazy. After everything the MCU has done and the directors they've had doing vastly different films, maybe it just didn't work out as opposed to Feige being a dick.Yeah it will be far worse than it could have been but still Edgar wright storyboards a good portion of his movies in preproduction and I read somewhere that they'd be using some of the scenes he planned
So there could be some inventive stuff in here
Scust at marvel shitting on him after he did so much work for it though, no respect for Feige and co tbh
When he shrinks he still has the strength of a human. So if he punches you in the balls as Ant Man...it's going to hurt.
Edit - Does Giant Man retain human strength or is it increased?

Kinda reminds me of Kamen Rider.
Trust in Marvel. They know what they are doing.
I just think Wrights vision wasn't the same as Marvels.
That's the thing, my acquaintances weren't familiar with GOTG either and none of them were interested at first. The recent trailers and overall hype made it much easier to sell. It isn't that hard to make an action adventure in space look hype though, I'm looking forward to seeing if they can do the same with Ant-man trailers. It can go either way imo, this poster itself has a tokusatsu vibe that doesn't roll with many people. There was a proof of concept video a while ago with the character doing some crazy shit while fighting guards that looked dope, but I think that was when Edgar Wright was still involved, not sure.......well...if talking racoon and tree guy do alright...i think they got a shot
Oh my.
Isn't he supposed to be a thief?
What's he doing with all those big-ass, bright-red night-lights glued to his Tron fetish-suit?
Wait, why is Marvel releasing this one in June, right after Avengers 2 (and heck, Avengers 2 will still be in theaters).
Shouldn't this be coming out in late 2015, or is there three Marvel films next year?

It is actually releasing on July 17th, 2015. 2.5 months after Age of Ultron.
If only they had the guts to have Jackman wear it on film for 15 min
That's a badass poster and suit. I really hope this movie ends up being good. But I have no idea what the hell it could be about.

Also he and communicate with ants and has them do cool shit. Like recon missions. In the latest issue of Daredevil they had Ant-Manshrink down and go into Foggy Nelson's body to help stop cancer cells from spreading.
He's a lot cooler then he sounds.

Looks like only two movies in 2015.
May 1, 2015 The Avengers: Age of Ultron
July 17, 2015 Ant-Man
Edit - If it bombs at least Avengers 2 will make a trillion dollars to make up for it.
Would probably collapse under its own weight.
2 months still isn't enough, I don't know. I feel like they're going to delay it but who knows. I really do wonder why they're rushing it out.
yeah. I think that after all the time that passed, so much had happened in the MCU that Wrights Ant-Man needed to conform to in order to line up with past, present and future happenings, that Wright just felt that it took too much away from what he originally set out to do. Had he made the movie back in Phase 1 like it was originally set up to do, then we might have seen that movie as, or very close to how he had originally envisioned it.
I don't think there was really a bad guy in this scenario, just Marvel needed it to be something now that it didn't need it to be before.
Didn't Thor and Cap 1 come out 2 months from each other too?
