The 970 is supposedly very power-efficient AFAIK, my PSP-playing penguin friend.

yea folks told me that here when i mentioned it before(i got 430watt powersupply), they told me it might work but im a pessimist. I'm waiting till I have cash for both, I'll buy the card first and if it works without issues, I'll use the cash that was for the power supply on some GAMEZ. and if it doesn't work, well I'll just order the powersupply. flawless plan :p

The Halloween deal on the Penumbra collection is mind-blowing. It's like two bucks for three titles that aren't bundle-tier!

Purchased that one at Gamefly since it was DRM-free over there. Great games, the first two that is. The 3rd is a puzzle game, which wasn't a big deal since I'm rather fond of Portal.

WTF? Unity Time Anomalies

Is it a DLC or part of the main story? Or sth like the funny things in Watch Dogs and Zombies and Aliens in COD?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Q9hJ2hCojw

From the look of it. It kinda look like it's part of the story. Since there isn't any mention of it being a DLC or side content. But I guess we'll see.
Also. You've been beaten my stretchable friend :p

So I should get it huh? That good?

Also this is a bit off-topic but I gotta praise Humble Bundle customer service. I got gifted a code, tried to redeem it but it keep saying "code has been activated already" I contacted them and they did their magic and now I can redeem my game. They responded within 2-3 hours of my email, and incredibly friendly too.

Amazing.

Chromatic abomination

I only just found out about this from Lords, aparently its something hated for a long time now. Any other examples of games with bad CA? for some reason I never heard about it before

Fuck hoops and fuck companies that want you to jump through them. I'd rather pay the dollar.
I'm obviously not the only one that thinks that, because this has been going on for almost a week now and hasn't even gotten half its keys shifted =p
You don't have to actually join the Steam group or do anything else besides submitting your email and claiming the game.

Hey someone help me out here. I remember back in the late 90's or early 2000's there was a motorcycle racing games. Where you can play as gang members. You can kick people and swing a chain whip at them trying to knock them away.

I can't even remember what console it was on. But it felt really arcadie. This was like a childhood game so it can't be anything like on PS3 or Xbox 360. I just can't remember what it was.

Road Rash

There's a spiritual successor on Steam Early Access called Road Redemption. It's not quite the same... but seems promising nonetheless.

I remember the 3D0 having a particularly nice version of Road Rash. I don't know if that's the one you're referring too?

Not true.
It won't actually link the game to your account unless you're part of their group and your account is set to public.
Fuck that shit.

Dreamfall Chapters got an update.
Version 1.1 of Dreamfall Chapters has been released for all platforms.

Amongst other things, this new version improves performance and reduces memory usage, resulting in better frame-rates and fewer crashes.

Fixes and changes include:

'The Story So Far' recap video available from the main menu: watch a three-minute summary of Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
Reduced memory usage, particularly in Europolis
Improved overall performance
Fixed stuck on black screen when loading into certain scenes (e.g. Pandemonium)
Fixed shaders that sometimes caused graphical artefacts on all platforms
Altered some visual effects on Mac and Linux that were causing black artefacts (e.g. in opening cinematic)
More granular options in graphics settings (e.g. disable depth-of-field, change shadow draw-distance)
Updated German subtitles and voice overs, and updated French subtitles
Improved localised menu interface
Fixed random failure to retrieve list of Facebook friends
Always syncs with Steam Cloud when game exits
Support for Xbox One controller in Windows verified. Make sure you are using the official Microsoft drivers

…and a whole host of smaller fixes and tweaks, including a 'consequence notification' for the most important choice in the game: Zoë's career.

Many players are still unaware that the first Decision Point branches the game into two unique gameplay-and-story paths for Zoë in Europolis. We wanted to better highlight this fact.

You might have noticed that we are no longer distributing a 64-bit Mac client. It turns out that our engine has a number of problems with 64-bit builds, resulting in random crashes. Until this is fixed, we are moving all clients to 32-bit. You will still see improved performance and memory usage.

We hope this patch improves everyone's experience with the game. Please let us know how it performs on your hardware. The team appreciates your honest feedback — whether it's positive or filed under 'constructive criticism'. We are currently considering a version 1.2 and your feedback will be instrumental in that process.

Thanks so much for your patience, feedback and support this past week! We can't do this without you, and we really hope the wait has been worth it.

Onwards & upwards: Book Two is next!

If you have never heard of this game, that's possible:
It's a zombie game that was on Kickstarter (it was there before DayZ got big so they didn't just jump on the bandwagon).
When they released the first few playable versions to backers, it wasn't looking quite good. Either feature, performance or graphics wise.
Then about a year after the first release to backers, the game got released on Steam Early Access, and although they had been developing and pushing out updates frequently, the game still felt bland compared to other zombie games (By that time, DayZ had gotten big).

But now since about 2 months things have gotten better and the game has improved a lot. Only the graphics are already a big improvement.

Here is a video of their latest build: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqyCDmAcUAQ

So when you see the percentage of good/bad Steam reviews, take the above into consideration.
I can't recommend the game yet as a full fledged game, but things are coming together, and nowhere has there ever been an indication that the devs would be abandoning the game.

Just my 2 pesos.

It's the first sale in history that I had to rely on "hidden gem" posts.
Seriously, the layout is awful!

Agreed, as do others here... and some devs, since it makes it fucking hard to actually get any eyeballs on their games. Guess we'll see what the sales are like after the weekend.

Joining a steam group, which takes around 2 seconds and a hald is jumping hoops now?

I'd say that going to the paypal checkout page is more of a hoop than that, but whatever.

I seriously would have only bought Transistor if not for the sale information posted here, Valve is phoning out big time.

I'm not much of a Halo guy, but the cinematic trailer for Halo 2 Anniversary got me surprisingly pumped for it. Just waiting for that eventual PC version...
