New Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer

So watched original trailer on Europe stream and then watched the trailer on NoA's YouTube page, I think I like the European translations more. Especially when NoA video subs go:
"It's been two years since we left Earth.
Two years, wandering in space, searching...
But our past caught up with us. Literally.
The alien blitz was sudden and unrelenting."
Europe's goes:
"After we left Earth, we spent two years in space searching...
But our old enemies caught up with us and unleashed a sudden assault"

Hate the use of literally XD

E3 Treehouse
30 minutes to an hour of footage

Better to check those out for more details than look for them to explain it in a 1-2 minute trailer
unfortunately I watched that whole thing and still didnt get much, but thats where my fears that the battle system was going to be too limited still stem from. Im still not sure if the ass questing, fame, and affection systems from XB are carrying over or not

Wow, yikes! EU translation is so much better.

I haven't looked, but I assume there's a Japanese trailer? Would be amusing if neither translation is close to the original.

Landscapes look huge. I really hope there is a purpose to the exploration this time rather than taking in the sights. Even random treasure chests would suffice.

Looks wonderful. Shame about the music, though... I hate vocals in game music. Wish the team from Xenoblade could do this one too. That soundtrack was perfect.

You got EXP in Xenoblade (and red item orbs) if you explored.

I don't think they will be putting chests in every place that deviates from the main path.

I saw their character creator during a live stream and seriously I think with some little work player would be able to pull out a better character than the one in the trailer XD

at least they got rid of the derpy derp run animation from the first one , it's something lol

Yeah. That last thing is bullshit. In fact, there's about two hours of Treehouse footage to say that says otherwise. Not that that even holds true looking at this trailer, mind you.

I was watching the Treehouse too, you know.
Thank you for calling bullshit, but I still believe it :| Not all locations look poor and/or flat to me, of course, at 1:00 for example it looks good enough (a path, different rocks and trees, flowers, bushes..). But the ground from 0:49 to 0:52 or at 1:18 or 1:25 could be better. Graphics doesn't help, at 1:02 what's supposed to be sand looks like a giant flat nothing. We're talking about details but personally it's something I really care about.

Some Xenoblade tracks had vocals too. Personally vocals don't bother me, at least not in the way it is being used in Xenoblade X.

You quickly learn to get over it once you start playing. Or at least, I would hope so if the game's good enough.

And it could be a lot worse...after years working in the high-end CG industry, 99% of games fail to impress me graphically anymore because I can spot all the issues. :( So I just don't dwell on it. I will keep looking for ways to improve stuff though if possible through mods or whatever.

It will probably be a lot like Xenoblade. You'll have landmarks to find which we already saw in clips. You'll also have item orbs to collect, which you can see in this trailer, they are the bluish crystals. Then there will no doubt be secret areas to find. If you look closely during that long jump off the cliff, it looks like a cave and a ledge on the north side. I bet that's a secret area. We've also already seen unique enemies which offers another reason to explore. There is always something to do out in the world, in Xenoblade.

It looks like there will be things you can search through that act like chests kind of, like that one clip when searching through the dino poo.

... So are there named characters in this game, like Xenoblade? Or if everyone going to be a fucking user created Avatar silent protagonist.

Because I'll be REAL upset if its the latter. I'm one of the few, I LIKED Xenoblade's characters and stories. I'm not all about running around, killing stuff, getting loot like most MMORPGs. I want there to be an actual storyline with developed characters.

Man that trailer was really good, even the music was pretty damn good up until the solo female singer started at 1:45 and then at 2:03. Just sounded so out of place and weird. I almost laughed at how silly it was.

I dont think they'll be able to top Xenoblade's OST, but I'd love for them to prove me wrong.

Day 1 either way

I think the general consensus is that people liked Xenoblade's cast, and it seems as if only the main character is silent.

Only the main character is silent, which is a plus to me, as cool as Shulk was.

The other characters have name. The white haired woman is called Elma and the black haired girl is called Lin (Rin?).

What you said is differently not bullshit, game is really lacking in terms of detail, lighting for example doesn't even cast proper shadow's, and most of the grass is 2d, characters, and animation are some of the worst we have seen in a long time.

Need help from the Wiiners.
- is the console region locked, is there a way to unlock it if it is?
- can I connect a Japanese Wii U to internet or are the online capabilities also locked (I'm in Italy)?
- is the console backward compatible?

WHAT WHAT WHAT!?

I wouldn't trust youtube 1080p. Hell, the Fire Emblem 3DS game trailer is 720p. We know the 3DS isn't capable of that.

And the 60 FPS trailer is not 60 FPS. Youtube allows variable framerate in videos and if any part of the video is 60 or exceeds 60, it will flag it as a 60 FPS video, the actual gameplay in the clip is obviously not 60 FPS.

That said, it looks great, it's nice to see some legit beautiful areas.

Looks really promising.

Are you saying the main character sounds like a lady when he's walking in the room?

Did that literally happened?

Morrigan Stark

Arrogant Smirk
Hideous faces, but
Yeah, we create our own avatar.
That's certainly a relief. What about party members though?

So you are going crazy over a trailer that contains:

- 2 minutes of running through empty landscapes

- Derpy looking protagonist

Am I missing something here?
I'm guessing they are not showcasing the combat or quests in this trailer but just the environments, which do look gorgeous. It has the advantage of making the game look far, far more appealing than it probably will be. xD Unless they completely revamp everything gameplay-wise from Xenoblade.

Well, we know already that Monolith Soft know how to do he JRPG gameplay perfectly.
My sides. Gameplay was by far the worst aspect of Xenoblade.

No way, I loved the combat in Xenoblade, especially once you got all the party members and got all their arts unlocked and could start creating various party builds with different Art and Skill setups.

The game is confirmed for a 2015 in Europe dude so if it's specifically for this game you might be better waiting,

My only complaint: not getting ACE back for the music was a mistake. Besides that? Woah.

2015 confirmation is excellent.
Nah, it was a great decision. The Xenoblade OST was amazing, but so are the three tracks revealed so far. Different composers for different games is a good thing.

Well it's officially a Xenoblade Chronices X thread. ninjablade has arrived to complain about the lighting and shadows.

Are you saying the option to watch it in 1080p60 or 720p60 is not there or that watching it in those options doesn't matter because the gameplay in the vid is less than 60fps? Because I haven't watched this trailer in Chrome yet.

Its there its just not running at 60fps.

The gameplay footage is 30fps whether or not you select a 60fps playback option.

Absolutely stunning looking game, cannot wait. With that April 29th release date, I'm guessing it should be everywhere else before the end of the year no problem, hopefully around August/September to keep it far enough away from Zelda.

You've done nothing to prove your point. I actually find myself even more confused by what you're saying.

0:49 to 0:52

1:18

1:25

The term "flat" does not apply here (and neither is it lacking in detail). I can only come to the conclusion that the definition you have is warped beyond recognition. In no way whatsoever can any of that be defined as topographically flat. I don't know what else to tell you - you're just plain, old wrong.
