Usually the Ma-non just "plays dead" and then wakes up during the scene because he's learned about the poison beforehand... the only other choice I can think of that might affect the outcome is when the Ma-non asks if he should have dinner with Yuyu, and you tell him to focus on work instead (so he doesn't eat with her) I've never tried the other route, but maybe in that case he'd end up dead anyway since he's already eaten pizza?

There's also a video online of how the quest plays out when he lives: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEG9byeAFY8&t=26m17s

I told him to focus on work and when I got to Oblivia, he has already been buried. Dead. What a fuck up quest.

Turns out I didn't progress enough. After I went back to the game and progressed the dialogue a bit, Ackwar got up.

Guess I should have went a bit further before making a post.

So I gave chapter 12 a shot and
the fight was going super smoothly, got the boss to 10% and he gets a shield. Apparently I have to kill a particular orb, identical looking to however the fuck many there are. While I'm doing that he's regaining health. Whatever it was easy the first time, I'll do it again. Difference is now there are even more orbs on screen and he's purple now doing crazy shit.

smh

Quick question for those who have skells (just obtained the lvl 20 one myself): Once you get your skell, do you mainly use it for combat, or still use the class arts?

Did you disarm the bomb on the BLADE? That's the other requirement for the Ma-non to live, because if he isn't blown up forensics can examine the body to find the poison - and to do that, you have to run around the hangar beforehand (lower level, by a tank somewhat near where Doug is) to hear a specific NPC conversation that teaches you how to disarm bombs. This is in no way flagged for you in the quest, and I only learned about it from searching online. Dumb requirement.

Haha, glad you go the "good" ending and only two other innocent people died, in addition to all the Ma-non that were already killed.

Skells are a little over-powered when you first get them (the level 30 ones you can purchase will easily take out level 40+ enemies if you have something like the G-Buster sword equipped) so they can help you level up early, but you can't use them for everything. Some fights are in restricted spaces where skells can't enter, they're not that great at fighting multiple small enemies (unless you have something like the Phoenix equipped, which will decimate the entire area around you), and also in general skell arts take a long time to cool down unless you get random "cockpit view" breaks which instantly reset your cooldowns. As the game progresses, certain builds will be able to generate more damage on foot in a shorter amount of time.

Also, I've found it's much harder to target specific enemy body parts in the skell, so if you need to target certain parts first because you're farming rare drops, you'll often have to do that on foot.

Oh, and the fuel limits are there for a reason - if you use the skell for every battle, you'll quickly find yourself with low fuel, and recharging it either requires a lot of patience or a lot of miranium.

In the late game I would generally do some opening moves with the skell, like a G-Buster hit, then if it looked like I had to wait for cooldown and the enemy still had a lot of health, I'd get out and start cleaning out everything on foot.

Maybe combat will improve if I buy skells for the rest of the group. I'm already level 30 and have lots of money anyway. Is there a difference in handling between light/medium/heavy skells?
Yes, the Inferno model while slower than the light ones has better traction since instead of being a Motorcycle is more like a Car.

And Skell combat is amazing and add another layer to the already deep combat: Do I keep fighting in my skell or I better go on foot to break some parts? Skell Armor instead of regular armor? But if I wear skell armor then my defenses will be trash in those times I'm forced to fight on foot...

I quite like it but I also only have 1 or 2 Lvl. 30 (an Inferno and a Verus) Skells in my party since Lin benefits from the Skell augmented defenses and her arts are more useful to me instead of the Skell ones.

So, 70+ hours in, I finally get my skell... and it's kind of disappointing?

tumblr_nzv3whcfwz1up93fko1_1280.jpg

Maybe it's because I've been playing for too long, but if felt weird to pilot a skell. The handling in vehicle mode is just awful, and skell combat doesn't seem as exciting as on foot. Or maybe I should just take a break, I spent the whole night playing and need some sleep :p

At first it felt strange to me too , but if you use the left stick just to move forward and do quick turns to left and right and the right stick to control the direction you move works flawlessly

From the looks of it you haven't tricked it out yet, skell arts are represented by the weapons on your skell.

Are weapon/armor augments permanent? I put a "melee attack I" on a chest piece and leveled it to "melee attack IV". Now when I go into Ground Gear and select the chest piece, the option "set augment" is greyed out. I can't figure out how to remove it so that I can put it on another, more powerful piece of gear.

I got my first skell as well, and now I'm wondering... how do you get more of them? For the rest of your team?

And where can one change the type to heavy for example?

Also, it's so powerful! Why would you ever get out of it, besides in caves? I'm murdering things with such ease now, it almost feels like cheating.

Also, the scale of the map kind of loses its appeal with a Skell. Getting to new area's goes so fast, you kind of lose that sense of accomplishment.

No you can definitely take them off
It might have been that the melee atack I was already on the gear originally. As far as I can tell you can't level up the augments you add onto gear

Thanks to everyone that offered some advice on skells, I'll buy new ones right now. Also, seems like I had some misconceptions about skells, so thanks for your insight.

Damn, 70 hours in and only level 31. No point looking for the lifehold anymore, you've probably found all of it :p

^_^

That's because I'm not grinding, I'm just exploring. I've heard terrible stories about the skell licensing quests, but when I finally got those, I already had almost everything I needed!

You're right. What I had done was an armor upgrade - I upgraded the augment that was on the gear originally, not a piece in an equipable slot. Took me a good 20 minutes to figure this out:| Thanks for the reply!

You can just buy them from the same place you buy ground gear. They will under "Skell Frames" but, the lowest level is level 30 skells.

I know you just had this answered, but I want to re-answer it for anyone else who needs help.

What you upgraded was your armor attributes which are the natural skills on a piece of armor. Those differ from augments since they are stuck to the armor and can be upgraded. Augments can be crafted though at the purple terminal next to the weapon one. It costs materials and Miranium to do that.

What the hell is that last Boze affinity quest? I can't even do some crazy combos without falling off the lava.
I just begun that one too and yeah it seems really stupid.

I managed to hit it from the cave though and commanded my team to assemble so it's not that bad like that. The monster still hits pretty hard which was a pretty big surprise to be honest. Need to put on gear with some electricity resistance I guess.

So is the fact that NLA is a dumb idea as deliberate as I hope it is? That could be a very promising thematic idea
How so? From what I gathered NLA was never really mean to be used in the way is used in the game since it was a part of the whole White Whale meant to emulate the Earth environment while they were traveling space. I assumed that other more important areas were in the ship itself but since they lost it they are forced to use it as a full on habitat for them.

I liked the detail that some NPCs say how they were already building it while traveling until they were attacked or how they have to share houses because there are not enough for all of them.

I just finished it. I didn't wanna cheese it but heck it's really difficult without some magic of augments.

Equip terrain resistance xx augment and equip armor till you get 100 elec resistance and you'll be laughing at that fight. Like you can leave your party auto-attacking while your opponent deals 1 damage per turn.

Lin calls it "our lie to ourselves" in the opening pan, and that seems pretty apt: they've built this parody of old earth with a cliche residential neighborhood and they've got stores and restaurants like you can just continue the same sort of consumerism the Earth supported. That's dumb and the way she phrased it makes me hope the game knows its dumb

well using a Skell is more fun now.i just had to reassign it again when i lost it, except when a powerful enemy attacks you from behind killing you in one shoot when you are fighting others. i know they said to be careful with the insurance thing, but thats not enough its kinda annoying.i already destroyed 4 of those in less than two hours using them.

you can always change your equipment for fighting on foot. it should not take more than a few minutes-
thankfully, not that deep :p

Oh yeah... some of the sidequest do touch that aspect and I loled when I discovered that the research probes generate money because it seems that civilian buy the footage and data collected by them to learn of the world outside the walls.

Yeah BUT I have a LOT of equipment for a lot of situations... almost wish they added a menu to let you save loadouts =/

Speaking of, I think is time to clean my inventory of a LOT of accumulated trash that I'm sure i will never ever use T_T

Yeah just put some elec res gear on and it was really easy. Didn't bother with terrain resistance but just pulled the monster to the cave.

Another one of these "I've been playing for x hours and didn't know" moments. The reason I've stopped getting busted/broken weapons is because I've unlocked all the arms manufacturers. Basically if an enemy drops gear for an AM you don't have you'll get that instead...

That aside as far as level 60 weapons weapons go I know that most enemies greater than level 60 will drop Ultra series weapons (which are weaker stats than the original weapons you can craft from blueprints but those only have 3 empty augments) but the unique named weapons are from certain tyrants only. For example,
the 512 attack gravity element longsword Mighty Glaive: Galaxy Chief is from Dadaan, The Strongest Prone, they are found at FN307
). How many of these named weapons are there? I know of one more (the
ether longsword in the foot only section of a cave near FN209
).

So, having Reclaimers as a division increases my chance of getting rare drops?
No. The support bonus is what you give to others. The support bonus is a buff that triggers randonly in battles. The real rare to imprvoe drops rates is to use the Treasure sensor augment (it seems to be additive so a party full of treasure sensor V really adds up).

I managed to hit it from the cave though and commanded my team to assemble so it's not that bad like that. The monster still hits pretty hard which was a pretty big surprise to be honest. Need to put on gear with some electricity resistance I guess.
That explains that fight. My team mates all fell into the lava then I was left fighting a boss doing hardly any damage (all my armour was store bought C&C giving me 100 electric resistance).

Well if you don't have arts that makes the player go jumping like mad and fall off yeah terrain resistance really is unnecessary. Just so happen to have enough materials to make 4 in an instant.

I mean a huge part of the story is that 1. A lot of what humanity and BLADE has accomplished by the time you reach NLA is incredibly rushed and improvised and 2. One of their big goals is to emulate life on earth as well as they can for reasons that'll come up later.

Did the "Prone Sweet Prone" mission last night. That was a nice change of pace because when you get that mission there's no way you can do it without stealth. I failed a couple of times because my stealth broke because my combat target went out of range (FYI you need to make sure you always have someone targeted within range when using Shadowrunner).

That's excellent advice, controlling the vehicles feels much better this way. Thanks!

Related to the resistance gear talk, the game really could've used the ability to have multiple sets for you to make and easily switch to. Like, most of the time I have my basic gear on that has high defence but low resistances, but then I could switch to a resistance gear set (that I would've made earlier or then just define it as a set right after making it now) and back to the basic set without having to choose every piece of gear separately.

and this will work on time mission I assume? Hmm. I think I need to farm this up. It's getting annoying getting the items I need.

Elma's shit talking is next level when she's inside a Skell. Sounds a lot more bloodthirsty lol. I also gave her Skell the Biggoron sword and man, even though it has an insanely long cooldown, seeing that thing strike down and doing 30k damage is amazing. Its so deflating missing though.

What's a good place to level late 30s - early 40s? I want to recruit Celica to my team before progressing to chapter 10.

Arts become more powerful when the circle fills.
Not necessarily all arts. Some get added effects or instant reuse. Open up the arts menu and the bonus you get for the secondary cooldown/green circle fill are listed in the stats. To get the meter to fill you need to be using the auto attack of either your range or melee weapon depending on the art. The tertiary cooldown doesn't enter gameplay until you unlock overdrive after chapter 5.

So what's a good place to level from 58 to 60?

I just got my Ares90...and I'm not high enough level to use it lol.

Pretty proud of doing that in just under 65 hours though.

I didn't realize till like 120 hours later that the MC does have conversation with some other characters after battle, I chose Adam's voice so I coincidentally always thought it was Phog or Gwin talking about it something futile, didn't realize it was the MC until I had neither were at my party lol
