Summon Night 5 |OT| Swordcraft Strategy

While we're getting some answers, can I ask about the status of EU PSN release?

Summon Night is one series I've long wanted to see localised, so I'd love to buy this. But physical release is useless to me (only have a Vita), and there's no sign of digital PSN release in our region. Please don't go Atlus on us all over again. Pretty please?

We're still trying to work through the process for all the PSP games (and one PS3). Having never done SCEE/PEGI we just keep coming up against a new issue when we think we have everything covered. The latest is a technicality with the global approval from like 18 months ago. We'll work through it, and once we get ONE on, we should have a roadmap to get everything up.

Are the orders for Canada started shipping yet ?

Sorry if it was asked before I did not really followed the thread , the thread just reminded me that I ordered the game :p

We're doing Canada today (maybe a little of the multi-unit orders will spill into tomorrow), then the rest of international, then done.

It would have been nice if the box was at least wrapped in paper or something for the shipping stickers. Oh well. It's not like I paid extra for the box I guess. Just a surprise. Thanks vireland.

The box was just designed to be a cool shipping box that held the two weirdly different shapes of the PSP case and the soundtrack securely, but I guess it's cool people want to collect it. :) The front purposely has an almost barren scene so the shipping label doesn't cover anything interesting.

You can get the shipping label off pretty easily with a hair dryer to heat it up gently while pulling slowly from the corner as you continue heating the label. Clean up sticky residue with goo gone (NOT goof off - that will take off ink!).

I was able to peel it off without a hair dryer by just pulling up a corner and then slowly peeling the rest of the label up until it was completely removed. There wasn't even any sticky residue left. :D

My fingers hate you though

Haha, but on a serious note, thanks for all of the hard work and the beautiful finished product! Your releases going all the way back to Working Designs are hands down the most treasured games in my collection.

I feel like this would answer a lot of the griping in those 'where's the EU release' threads.

Are we getting confirmation emails with tracking codes or should I ask my magic ball for where my copy is right now?

Package was delivered to me at work today. Needless to say, I got a few comments from co-workers regarding the box...

I got mine today. It's number 1647, variant A. The box was pretty beat up. I wish the serial number sticker was on the game case itself, instead of being on the shrink wrap. What's a good way to remove the shipping label and the clear tape on the opening flap of the box? I tried to carefully peel off the tape, but it started pulling the art off the box, so I stopped.

Mine just came in today as well. #2884. The package is fantastic.

If I wanted to remove the shipping label from the package and the shiny reflective tag off the game, a hot blowdryer will work on both of this? Thanks again Vic!
Ok, hot hairdryer for that shipping label.

Someone in Brazil customs is having a long, hard look at the packaging right now.

Not that I don't appreciate, but you can bet it's going to be held by the customs and I'll receive a tax inquiry because of how flashy the package is. It screams "tax me"!

Brazil is one of the high theft/loss countries where I'm considering an outer box. It's typically a high theft/loss country on the last few games we did, and this will be an even bigger target. There are only a handful of countries in this class we've had problems with in the past, and we're already losing money on international shipping due to the weight, so I only want to add even more weight if absolutely necessary.

Hair dryer to warm it up well, then while still heating gently, peel carefully from one of the inside (not edge) corners toward the edge. Goo gone to clean up sticky residue.

Alright thanks , that might be my next portable game I'm gonna play .
After playing the excellent Stella Glow, I have been looking for another good portable sjrpg.

Would you consider an outer box for reasons other than theft? I understand if the answer is no, I was just wondering.
You see, UK customs are in love with box cutters and re-sealing tape, which means I generally receive parcels that look like this:
I still wish I'd taken a picture of the box I got from Amazon Japan last week. That thing had the most in depth external item disclosure form I've ever seen and yet they still sliced open the box along all edges, then wrapped the entire thing in yellow resealing tape afterwards. It was more tape than box.

Is there any location where we can see all the different UMD and box art variants? I remember voting but I never saw a location where the winners were coallated.

Also SN5LE0228 is my serial number on the hologram! That's a pretty low number!

In the future, would you consider including a duplicate serial number hologram?

I come from the medical device industry where we attach duplicate labels on everything, a few of my projects have a multi-part label where parts gets attached to the carton, and the other portion remains attached BUT is still attached to the backing paper. This lets you peel and stick it at use.

I ask because I want to keep track of my serial number, and having a place to "stick" it would be pretty cool. It's likely too expensive though, but it would be pretty cool.

We did duplicate holographic labels on the first release, Class of Heroes 2, which came with a certificate that had a matching serial number, but it was a nightmare to fulfill and keep everything in sync.

Unlikely because due to the weight of this LE coming in more than expected, we're already losing money on the shipping for international orders vs the shipping that was collected. Adding a box would add the cost of the box plus the additional weight, which would also add cost. Even so, I'm still probably going to do it only for traditionally (in our experience) high theft countries, but that's it.

That's cool,

Thanks to unboxing videos and the previous pics, there are at least three variants for the outer case, but so few people want to open it up...

Vic, will you post what all the variants and goodies look like in a few days?

I might give hints about what to look for, but I don't usually post pictures or charts. I'm more interested in people talking to each other to figure it out, thereby fostering community.

They're making a gallery thread on the gaijinworks message board to try to get a complete picture of them all, though.

all good things
Found mine in the mail box today. Looks great but sadly when I was peeling the shipping label off the cool box it came in it peeled some of the art work off with it. :(

Oh well.

I really like the shipping box and I managed to get the mailing label off with the hair dryer method. It's too bad that the postwoman decided to write the date in permanent red marker on the front of the box. Other than that, it's in great shape.

is beloved, despite what anyone might say
Totally forgot I ordered this, but loved the box it came in. Nice to see GW keeping the WD spirit alive. I hope Summon Night 5 was a success for you and eagerly await the next title you guys release...

My copy was waiting for me on arrival. (USPS sticker ruined the back, but oh well...)

Thanks Vic!

Here's what you have to do for 6. :p

Do you have any chance of getting it, or did Namco only let you have 5 so they could do 6?

BandaiNamco's machinations are theirs alone to understand. Even a teensy bit on the inside, you still are pretty much outside, at least in my experience. Probably just a function of their monolithic structure and size.

Well, hopefully you have a shot at it(if you're interested in 6 that is).

I still want to know if people who ordered from Gaijinworks is getting any sort of tracking or not.

Tracking isn't sent, but if there's a problem, we can look up shipments on a case by case basis. The shipping computer is old and not hooked up to be able to send mail. However, talking to the provider about this, they have a service where we should be able to send them starting with the next game.

But you're in Brazil, right? For some reason many of the south American countries always seem to take a LONG time to deliver packages - we had some on Class of Heroes 2G that took like 8 weeks for some locations. It was crazy. Italy's the only place in Europe that comes close to the long delivery times of some in South America (in my experience).

So there is no tracking for the shipment coming from Gaijinworks? I'm fairly certain there was for the previous games. Was it that expensive to maintain consistency and offer it this time around? All the more reason VGP has the edge over GW, the box isn't enticing enough not to know where my package is for weeks.

No tracking here, and I don't believe there was for past releases either. :/

Class of Heroes 2 had tracking, yet I had issues. Issues that I tried to get sorted out with Vic, yet he disappeared for weeks and only resurfaced the day I got everything sorted out, just to lock the thread where I was asking for his help.

For that reason, I skipped Class of Heroes 2G and eventually picked up almost a year later from VGP.

I got sucked back in with Summon Night 5, since it was an exciting new license. I hope I don't run into the same issues this time around, even if hindsight is 20/20 and ordering from VGP would be better for me, again.

No tracking was sent out for any of our releases. If there are issues, we can track from this end, and that's what you're talking about.

South America in general is a tough destination for parcels, based on shipments of the last few games we've seen. Much longer delivery times than anywhere else in the world.

no reply?

If there are issues they can track. It's not an issue that a package to Malaysia has not arrived yet. I imagine it would be a crazy amount of work manually looking up packages for everyone who is just curious about where their package is.

Got my 3 copies. Managed to take off the labels and the tape without damaging the artwork.

Nice work. I was surprised to see 6 variants. I got A, E and F.

Not sure. I have only bought one thing from Malaysia in my life and it took over a month to arrive in Canada with the cheaper of the available shipping options. I don't how Gaijinworks ships but it's probably too expensive to send by express considering what we paid for shipping. I would honestly wait at least a month before starting to worry if I were you.

Did a quick Googling and found some random guy on Yahoo Answers say 3-4 weeks in transit is normal to Malaysia.
