God Eater 2: Rage Burst |OT| "We stand defiant"

So the 12 digit code in the box isn't for PSN it's for their website where they will only give you the resurrection DLC if you hand over personal details?

I'm in the UK, new sealed copy and it's just promoting me to go to a website and sharing my info.

Edit: so the code in the box is what they want you to punch in on their website once they have your email...

Game looks amazingly clean downsampled from 5K to 1440p. I wish they'd offer a HUD scaling option though, it's quite a bit too large regardless of resolution when playing on a monitor.

What the fuck is going on?

Back you go game. Not interested thanks.
To be fair, the process is in the OP and was explained months ago on the official site:
When buying GOD EATER 2 Rage Burst physically on PS4 or PS Vita, you will find a serial code inside the box. You will need to redeem this serial code on this website and get a PSN voucher code for the digital version of GOD EATER Resurrection. With this PSN Voucher code in hand, you’ll need to head to the PSN and download the digital version of GOD EATER Resurrection. You have until 2050 to redeem your code; 2050 marks the collapse of civilization in the GOD EATER universe.

The code shows up after filling in details and is also mailed so you could just put random names and use a catch all Gmail alias if youre paranoid and own a domain with Google apps or not even use a real email.

Also I have NA resurrection vita and ps4 for review. Got ge2 for review but also have it physically on ps4 and vita. Super happy no garbage day one printed on cover and only a sticker for resurrection. Also no tales sword art costume mention on the back. Perfect.

Care to post some downsampled screenshots?

still waiting on my Steam CDKey from cdkeys dot com :'(

Same here, sent them an email at midnight last night asking for an ETA and got a reply of "later today", so within the next 23 hours? Super helpful thanks! ;) Feeling the key may be missing the pre-order costumes as well. Should have paid the extra two quid and went with DLGamer or such.

I went with Gamesplanet, which wasn't much dearer than cdkeys when you factored in the 5% from being part of the steam group. I think it came to roughly £32.50. Glad I did. Played GER last night with my friend and was enjoying it.

My Vita copy didn't arrive in the post :(

Guess it was kind of expected when it was sent out on Saturday and having a bank holiday on Monday.

Looking forward to playing it when it arrives. If I enjoyed Freedom Wars then I'd like this shouldn't I?

Sure. Not far enough to take screenshots from different areas haha.
There are still some jaggies but it's much cleaner than native 1440p obviously and I can't say the 1080 breaks a sweat at 5K either :D (FXAA is off)

seems like I am totally missing something here since I am currently on episode 11 of the anime and do not recall seeing many of the aragami shown here.

to buy or not to buy? hmmm

The anime is fun but it is a very poor adaptation of the games. It changes a lot of details, reworks a lot of the story, and only includes a few of the Aragami from the games.

Resurection is a lot of fun and absolutely worth it if you like the world and characters from the anime. I haven't played 2 yet but I have high hopes for it as well.

freedom wars was the boring game compared to this, if you even liked freedom wars you'll definitely enjoy this easily.

So just from playing for about an hour, I'm not really sensing much difference from the first game? Everything from the character creator, to the mission locations, all seems very "same-y"

I think what threw me off about this was that the first GE on PS4 was 20 bucks, whereas this one is 60. I think I was just expecting a much bigger gap in quality and playstyle.

Haven't played GE2 yet, but from what I remember, didn't Resurrection receive a significant number of revisions from the original game that make it more like GE2? That might be the reason. I played the original back on the PSP and R feels like a totally new game in comparison to that.

Ah ok, that actually makes a lot of sense! Granted, I haven't played enough of the second game yet to really see if it opens up and introduces even more different mechanics, but just from the initial hour, I felt like I was just playing the first game with a different hub area.

This tempered my excitement for Rage Burst also, unfortunately :( I like Resurrection but there are some distinctly handheld-esque / outdated / narrow-focused bits of the game that I was hoping would be improved. Resurrection is a fun game, so this shouldn't be necessarily interpreted as a slight against Rage Burst, but in my ignorance I was hoping for something a bit closer to Monster Hunter on the Wii U in terms of scope.

Edit: I can see why they tried to stagger the releases, I'd have a difficult time recommending somebody buy both games if they were released simultaneously and sold separately.

One of the many reasons it sucks to be Canadian consumer.

Anyways some of the voices of the CAC are coming out now. Erica Mendez is voice 14 and 19 for example. I'll make a list when I get the game.

Goddamn.

On another note, what a great day to be a Vita owner in general. I want to download all of those.

I pay more than three times the price in that pic so I can't really relate.

Imagine paying the same as Americans for the longest time only to be informed you have to starting spending an additional 15-25 bucks because your dollar sucks a fat one.

That's why you have a lot of bitter Canadian gamers like myself who are spending less and less on games and other various commodities.

I myself am very bitter about how my country's economy is doing. I used to pay roughly triple of what American's do but now it has quadrupled and sometimes more but I love gaming as a hobby so I just bore with it.

I tried to like the first game on PSP and I was kind of interested in this one. The repetitive missions, the weird and uncomfortable controls and the slow progression of the story made me give up. Still, if this has been fixed I may bite.

Will I enjoy this game, God Eater GAF?

Vita games on the store prior to this week costed 40 bucks, the same as retail and digital prices in the states rather than the 50-55 dollars for a physical copy.

Now: it's the same as a physical game in Canada.

I haven't kept up with prices in a while so I didn't notice the difference. Not much we can do about it unfortunately. Ever since they jacked up console game releases to 79.99 I've been making fewer purchases so I guess it makes sense that they would jack up handheld games at some point as well.

I gotta say, I'm pretty happy I played Resurrection first. I would've been completely overwhelmed by all the new mechanics had I just played the original. I feel right at home.

I can't believe I'm finally playing God Eater 2. It's been a long time coming.

So now that I (sort of) got over my bitterness about the price increase, here's the CaC voices I've been able to deduce so far starting with the guys.

Voice 1: Bryce Papenbrook (Eren in Attack on Titan)
Voice 2: Josh Grelle (Armin in Attack on Titan)
Voice 5: Jamieson Price (Lu Bu in Dynasty Warriors, Iron Tager in Blazblue)
Voice 7: Colleen Clinkenbeard (Gohan in Dragon Ball Z kai)
Voice 8: Sam Riegel (Phoenix Wright)
Voice 9: David Vincent (Robin in Fire Emblem Awakening)
Voice 10: Joe J Thomas (Shuji Niekawa in Durarara)
Voice 11: Christian La Monte (Only VA role that I could find is Cornelius Kaka from Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky)
Voice 12: Michael McConnohie (Seth in Street Fighter 4)
Voice 14: Keith Silverstein (Zhuge Dan and Pange De in Dynasty Warrios 7 onwards
Voice 15: Michael Sinterniklaas (Gwin in Xenoblade X)
Voice 16: Kyle McCarley (Mikazuki in Iron Blooded Orphans)
Voice 17: Lucien Dodge (Blue from Pokemon Origins)
Voice 18: Grant George (Shinjiro in Persona 3)
Voice 19: Dave B. Mitchell (Liu Bei and Guan Yu in Dynasty Warriors 7 onwards)
Voice 20: Mike McFarland (Charlie Nash in Street FIghter V)
Robbie Daymond (Lenka in the God Eater anime) is a custom voice but I don't know which one is him. Similarly Chris Cason (Gluttony in FullMetal Alchemist) has confirmed his presence in the game, most likely as a CaC given he has not stated who he played.

And for the FeMC

Voice 2: Alexis Tipton (Hope from Xenoblade X)
Voice 3: Monica Rial (Bulma in Dragon Ball Z Kai)
Voice 4: Heather Hogan (Viola in Soul Caliber 5)
Voice 5: Erica Lindbeck (Voice 11 in God Eater Resurrection)
Voice 7: Sandy Rojas (She was apparently in Resurrection as one of the CaC voices. If she responds to my tweet to her, I'll update that list as well with her role)
Voice 9: Philece Sampler (Taokaka in Blazblue)
Voice 12: Julie Ann Taylor (Kokonoe from Blazblue)
Voice 14 and 19: Erica Mendez (Gon in Hunter X Hunter, Ryoko in Kill La Kill)
Voice 15: Minae Noji (Milla Maxwell in Tales of Xillia)
Voice 16: Melissa Fahn (Neptune from Neptunia)
Voice 17: Kate Higgins (Lissa from Fire Emblem Awakening)
Voice 18: Abby Trott (Voice 15 in God Eater Resurrection)
Voice 20: Janice Kawaye (Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot)

Couldn't figure that many voices right now but I'll update it as more VA's confirm their roles or find other ways of figuring out the other CaC voices.

Certainly won't be using CDKeys again, still no key and the games no longer listed for sale on their website, so I imagine it'll be a "Sorry we couldnt provide the game" email sometime tomorrow and no pre-order costumes for me. Apparently Gamesplanet still has pre-order keys so I'll probably grab it there.

I think female voice 5 is Erin Fitzgerald, Chie from the Vita version of Persona 4. I could be wrong but it sounds a lot like her to me. Oh right and this is for the first game. I have no idea if they have same voices on the 2nd game.

First time playing this series and it's pretty good so far. Some of the movement feels pretty weird but I am sure I get used to it.

Shin's already put together a list for GER over in the Resurrection thread.
You agree on who it is though ;)

Yeah, another friend of mine was still waiting for a key from them. I noticed they'd removed it from the site earlier so I told him to just try and get a refund.

Who knows when they'll grant it.

I unlocked the blood art function for my weapons and equipped one...

Do they activate on their own at the end of a combo? Are they super moves you build meter for? I'm damn confused.

I have the same question haha. Also, what does the "UP" icon mean in the bottom left corner of the screen?

Man it feels like forever since I first play the demo my Vita in like 2013 or something.

Yea, I really didn't think we would ever get it. I'm savoring every moment.

Is there a guide out there for the God Eater games? I'm starting to get a general feel for the combat, but I still have no idea what stuff like burst gauge or bond breaks or whatever are
