HOW DID I MISS THAT MEIJIN ROCKS A "SILPHEED"-SHIRT?

And how did that get in there? Who holds the rights?
Not just the shirt, the cocktail game that Uncle Death is sitting at is a Silpheed machine. You can see the game running (it's the original PC-8801 / DOS version) in the cutscene you get during the prologue, when you initially go to the arcade. Unfortunately, that's the only time the camera angle lets you see it, and it's only for a couple seconds.

Miss it, and you'll have to make a new PSN account just to get that scene again. Though maybe someone has it on YouTube...

Damm!
Does Suda have anything to do with it, or is it just a random fan cheer?

Edit:

And while I was searching for info about that, I stumbled over this:

Suda worked as a funeral director, though the stench disagreed with him and he continued to search for job openings elsewher

I've found the secret shop in the 30s twice now and both times he's been closed even though there were no enemies around. Anyone know what that's about?

Every action I take that requires the game to talk to the servers is taking between 10-20 seconds. It's yet another thing that makes this game the most frustrating piece of shit to play.

So the shortcut to avoid bosses to floor 35 is up but there is now a red lock on katsuma teal elevator. Wtf? Does anyone know what floor/boss opens it?

Yo, is there any way I can turn the online portion off? Last three times i have logged in I've been attacked and it's killing my mood

DF found out that the game runs at 1440p on PS4 Pro and I have found out that it only does so on 4K TVs so no supersampling. I did notice that there were more framerate dips at 1440p whenever there are alpha effects going on so I guess there is an upside for people with 1080p screens.

Here are some comparisons:

1080p
1440p
1080p
1440p

If you run past enemies, there's a high chance they're still aggro, but their AI is frozen at a distance. If you see on the map any of their red dots staring toward you when they probably shouldnt be looking that way, it's likely them, and you have to get closer to get their AI moving again to go back to their spawn point or kill them.

Anybody know what the point of the Giant killer decal is?
Only Jackals?
Seems kinda useless once you've got all rank 5 fighters.

Characters cap out at different levels. I am not sure how big the difference is, but it is more than 5 levels. Depending on what you got, a lower character can actually be significantly better with the decal, than a "better" rolled one.
For an example, a maxed out striker with a lower roll in luck and dex with a difference of five levels will be much better with the decal against higher rolled ones.

i beat floor 40 in less than a minute and a half

lmao

I look forward to the future content that they make that will inevitably make mushrooms ineffective. You know it's going to happen. Enemies that can still see you when you're cloaked, bosses that can still hit you through your guard shield. etc.

I really enjoyed the game. it was a blast and i look forward to continuing the grind. And again much props on how they handled the F2P stuff. My only complaint is that i had the time limitations on crafting and buying items. Waiting 2 and a half hours to craft an item and then buy it only to wait another hr before you can buy another one. or the fact that you literally have to wait days before your freezer slots will upgrade.

Ah ok. That kind of sucks. Means i'll probably need to keep each enemy which i was purposely avoiding since i didn't want jackels to spawn.

Yeah i try to keep 1 alive somewhere too. Their AI just seems to freeze after you get a certain distance away, but if you go back about half a room away, they'll either continue chasing from there or go back to their spawn point.

If the shop is close to where i came in from, I'll just kill everything on the way, if it's on the other end of the map, I'll run through to a closer escalator and come back in from that point.

Anyone know if the Mushroom event is over?
I thought it would b over on Monday but I just got some rewards and a mail telling me about the end of an event, showing raids stats and stuff.
Bonus Question : "end game" is on 30th or 40th floor?

Mushroom event ends at midnight of the 23rd.
Event thing is unrelated, something like reaching a certain number of total raids, happens every once in a while.

omg the treasure hunter decal is so good. Makes farming kawabe effortless and once you know the places where the secret shop spawn, you can avoid wasting your time if he's not there.

I need that thing! Farming for milk black would have been so much easier the past few days.
After I think 15 stews this weekend I only got the Judges Gavel, which I don't need, Maintenance Crew and the normal Tank premium decal :|

I could be wrong but i think you have to beat the game before you can even get a chance for the treasure hunter decal. I beat the game this morning and when i went to the mushroom lady i saw it for sale and i know it definitely wasn't there before

You can get a premium version from stews at any point, but yeah i think you have to beat the game for the regular to be in the shop.

Oh that's nice.
Just sent everybody on expeditions will continue my journey for the Tank Decal tomorrow.

I got the premium version the second time I bought a stew so I guess I was lucky.

I mostly seem to get Drill Sergeant since then though.

Expeditions feel like proper bullshit on the receiving end. It costs nothing, your gear can't break and there's no risk whatsoever for the character you send. It's way too easy to just grief people with max level haters with maxed out weapons and armor.

Luckily most players seem to have a shred of decency and send out naked haters.

To be fair, you can negate 100% of the r&d and coins somebody spent gearing up their character with a single brainshroom.

Just failed a raid on the last enemy (9/9) due to what feels like input (queue) lag. Dude had 26k SPL in the bank. Feels bad.
Also feels bad: the way your character's stamina gets gimped if you don't eat anything for a while.

Mushrooms being hilariously op is another topic entirely.

And even so, you had to waste a mushroom to make sure you won't get screwed. The opponent still spent nothing. It makes no sense that the armor you see shattering is returned to them at full condition.

It's not really wasting a mushroom when those are only really useful for geared up haters. They also have a chance to drop a piece of their gear when they die, so you could come out positive from the encounter.

I agree that there's absolutely no cost to sending hunters out, but I'm not sure if I'd want a cost. It would take you 10-20+ expeditions per character to replace a full set of top level gear, it would be absurd to have that stuff break. All you'd see are naked hunters if that happened, which would make them a pointless enemy.

I'm also not going to sit there and un/equip 9 characters every time i change them between defense and expeditions, that's an unnecessary time sink when they're not that difficult to avoid or kill with all the options you have available.

Not much of a difference with normal haters, it's not like I don't find haters at max level and gear in the first few floors too (killed by similar haters, I guess). If anything people tend to send expeditions to the highest floor they can (and Okusa) so it's less likely to encounter high expedition haters in a low level than regular haters.

In any case always carry an iron with you and problem solved, it chews through their armor like acid.

The main point is not that I can't handle them. I rarely die to haters.

The expedition system is just unfinished, which is quite evident imo. Instead of a bad mobile game style timer farming nonsense they should embrace the asynchronic pvp like they do with waiting room invasion. Make killing the other player the point with appropriate rewards, but also give the attempt to do so a proper cost. There's a foundation for something pretty cool there but right now it's just a mindless task that you need to remember to do if you want some coins and shrooms.

And at the end of the day, decked out haters on expedition are by far the most difficult enemies in the game after bosses. It is quite ridiculous that players can just keep dishing them out for free.

I still don't get what's so different to garden variety haters.

Well, for one thing, they usually only have like 500 killcoins on them, while a comparable hater will have over 5k.
Unless you're really hurting for gear there's not really a much of a reward for beating them.
And if you needed new gear that badly, you probably wouldn't be able to beat the Hunter in the first place.
Not to mention that most NPC haters aren't decked out in Meta-gear like the Cleaver Sabre.
I feel like the Hunters are at best a waste of durability/ammo and at worst a quick end to an otherwise good run.

I wasn't talking about NPC haters (which I rarely get anyway) but other people's haters. In my experience they tend to be equally equipped. Also I've never seen a hater drop more than 1000 coins, let alone 5000, but I'm only on floor 25 or so...

Really? I'm in the mid-30s and I feel like I haven't got a player-hater in forever.
It's almost always a Hunter or an NPC Hater.

Again, are you sure that you weren't attacking and thus got into stunlock? There's also a decal ("Indomitable Spirit") that makes you "less likely to get groggy"; I'm not sure if it refers to this state, since enemies rarely (never?) stun you otherwise.

I may have been trying to dodge. If that also counts as a counter (or makes you "groggy") then that's probably what it is.

Guess I've just gotta get used to the roll's limited invincibility frames.

I have now also arrived in the club of grade 5 fighter havers. Wasted a bunch of shit on Coen on 34F. When I realized it was impossible I tryptamine d'd out of there only to then notice I could have just taken the escalator to Atagi (37F) to unlock the fighters. Didn't have to do anything at all, lol.

Edit: Holy shit, golden turtle gives you 15000 XP.

I'm also in the mid 20s and regular haters tend to have some beat-up junk on them, or nothing at all. Expedition haters can be armed to the teeth with the best possible player killing gear in the game.

Wow, Silver Heart+Marathon Runner lets you run forever.

I've gotten the premium versions of both of these early on and i've used them for so long that not having them equipped just feels god awful

Does anyone know if there's a permanent decal for super long tail? I've only got the regular ones from login bonuses for the express pass

I'm 99% sure the express pass login bonus decals don't have premium versions.
In the decal book premium and standard decals of the same types normally show up next to each other, but there's no spaces for premium versions of express pass decals.

Anyone having slow network issues since last maintenance? It used to take only a few secs for me to load/connect to another floor, to shop or raiding someones waiting room. But now that bug/network symbol is rattling for ages.

Can also vouch that you can get the premium one from the stew and it's glorious, especially on big floors when you just want to beeline to a specific escalator. Map shows all escalators, specifies if they go up or down and shows treasure chests and enemy locations. Solo enemies are often the haters so you won't get jumped. The only thing it doesn't show is the colour of the escalators and it doesn't draw the actual map so you might still have to do some pathfinding.
