So will multiple warlocks be able to stack a healing and damage buff in the same spot? If so it could be nasty.

The ability doesn't stack, but it's possible they can overlap. But that wouldn't really help you accept make a larger heal pool.

The heal buff has a 60 second cool down so you wouldn't want your entire team using it at once.

Yeah overlap is what I meant. I don't mean putting the same buff down though, I mean using 1 healing and 1 empowering on the same spot.

3.5 months to go... This is going to be some wait. At least Tekken 7, E3, and Shadow of War will break up the monotony! I poured 400+ hours into the original game, and I am really in need of something new in the world of Destiny. Based on what I know so far, this look like a winner, and will be one at launch rather than after its first major expansion...

We have the summer to enjoy as well. September will come sooner than we want to. :)

Not when you've got the complexion of Nosferatu and enjoy the rain... I look forward to the fall every year, as it brings that and new games!

Beta in July.. I'm hoping for a little taste of Alpha after e3.. it's at least something to hold us over.

That was like the only use of the entire Hunter class though i.e. getting revives...lol.
When shotguns were still good (post House of Wolves, through TTK, before they debuffed it), I doubled as a revive machine and an assassin. Oh, there's a yellow bar sword captain wreaking everyone? Cloak, sneak behind, take it out with a few shotgun blasts to the back.

Post-nerf that turned into, cloak, sneak behind, tap it gently with shotgun pellets while the captain turns around and murders you. I really hope dropping shotguns into the Power slot means they are beastly again.

Heavy stealth was still a lot of fun in other PvE modes. But the succession of sandbox nerfs hit'em hard. Got less fun to play as the weaponry got watered down in subsequent patches.

Anyone in the know care to explain the new Warlock solar subclass to me a bit? First glance it looks like the same thing as the Titan solar subclass, what are the differences?

I think it is hard to read the class changes as anything other than an attempt to get rid of abilities that could break or significantly change encounters. No more Titan bubble, no more Warlock rez, no more Hunter stealth. Consider how much bubbles and stealth changed the dynamics of a fight against Crota. Bubble bros could keep half the enemies occupied, and Blade Dancers could stealth their way to Crota to get in more hits. It feels like they very much want to narrow the number of strategies to successfully complete an encounter.

If anyone is wondering about the size, here is a rough approximation of Nessus. I had pulled it up from the 4 worlds trailer. It is shown when the Warlock pulls his ghost out to move to another planet

Yeah, hopefully there is a lot more ground to explore this time around. Here's a comparison to Venus through the director map:

I think it's pretty clear that they are going to try and make every zone like the Dreadnought. Full of secrets in every nook and cranny. I just hope it doesn't devolve into the "Find 40 collectibles to get an Exotic" bullshit that Dreadnought did.

Let's be honest there's 2 new sub classes, pole dancer is basically the same thing as arc blade. Like it kind of makes me mad when people just excuse them making time basically the same thing, when the other 2 classes got significant changes to their sub class.

Anyhow, I hope they make factions fleshed out and worthwhile, haven't heard anything on them so hopefully they aren't just a vendor again. Also got to separate that PVE and PVP balancing, if they listened to the community like they said, they will.

arc Donatello could slam as well as dance.

That could be 1/2 the map or 4/5ths...

I stronge disagree.

Bubble is not only attack buff... it is an all around option to PVE... it is safe and useful... the game become easy due Titan Defender.

All subclass were changed and 6 are back... 3 are new.
Uh since when did the discussion became about whether a bubble is necessary or not?

I was and am taking about the damage buff. There is a reason why I said WoL in my post and not bubbles.

Always felt like Hunters had no use in PVE until Nightstalker was added, then they became essential as the damage buff from Shadow Shot.

I primarly played Hunter in D1 but I'm thinking of switching to Titans for D2, always nice to have a change.

Destiny 1 map is a map of missions, strikes, the raid, and the patrol. It is also not 1to1 with the terain you can explore.

Isnt the Destiny 2 map what you can view on the ground? During a patrol, for example? Also looks more 1to1. We should also see our player location right on the map, which wouldnt work with a D1 map.

Have we seen the mission map for Destiny 2? Maybe this time it will just be a mission list. Edit: nm, it looks like mission starters are on that map. Looks quite minimal actually. Unless those are just the "dungeons" (strikes and raid). Edit: the smaller icons have progress indicators around them... what are those?

The blue and orange match the vanguard colours and are used with the diamond with public events in D1 so that would make sense. Seems most likely they are showing a countdown until the event starts.

The red/ orange shield with the knife in the symbol they showed for the patrol Adventures.

The three white logos with the downwards facing triangle could be landing zones.

No clue about the green icon.

Regarding the 4 empty spaces on the Director that have been pointed out when showing the planets. I don't think those will be other planets and will most likely be for times events/ playlists. Would love to be proven wrong on that one.

More Destiny Stuff for you guys

6 man team (maybe Raid ?) : http://imgur.com/WsENxIU ; http://imgur.com/A84Ki9m ; http://imgur.com/hsicGZf. The voice over talks about strikes/raids, I am assuming this is a part of the raid

Titan Moon (map) : http://imgur.com/sQP2S05 . They talk about this being a methane ocean, look at the map behind him carefully, there are tiny islands everywhere

Nessus map as posted earlier : http://imgur.com/pOxOffS.

Lost sectors/ Future Expansions? : http://imgur.com/Zu344n0

Strike 1 : http://imgur.com/e4DVXZZ

Strike 2 : http://imgur.com/7G1PW4H , looking at this carefully, the next shots are all three guardians shooting at this boss, syncs with the voiceover for strikes etc...

Strike 3 : This is the inverted spire (http://imgur.com/OYCh8VP)

Strike 4 : http://imgur.com/9I7CejI (Reminds me of the obstacle from the Fallen S.A.B.R.E strike)

I've heard people asking if the other subcalsses exist or not from vanilla, here is a shot of Voidwalker, http://imgur.com/GseFIIu , go a second or two earlier and you will see this is a warlock

This:

Zu344n0.jpg

has me very excited.

The two on the left will probably be for specific activities like crucible.

The top center one I would imagine being the energy beam platform that we see in the trailers. The platform is close to the sun so it kinda fits. There's also footage of players fighting enemies on it.

The middle center one I'm not sure what could be. Maybe the traveler?

Yup. Left two multiplayer... a crucible one and strike playlist one maybe. Center bottom is most def the Traveler. Right there, above Earth... has to be! Last one above right... the Reef or something involving the Queen possibly?

i dont see how the traveler will have its on destination when it can be on the earths map...unless we are able to traverse inside the traveler.

Or it's a very large, free to explore space just like any other of the planet spaces ;) Think Dreadnaught

That's just my bet though.

I don't expect to see Strike and Crucible icons on that specific screen of the Director. Since the Director can be accessed directly through a menu I expect Strike and the Crucible playlists will be available as menu options before getting to the planet screen.

Well i mean if were going by previous UI it's still likely map based... but who really knows.

Fantastic thread! Captures a heck of a lot more detail than I was able to discern by following random coverage. Destiny 2 is looking fantastic so far and definitely warrants a day one buy from me. I'm skeptical about buying the "deluxe" version with the expansion pass though. I did that for D1 and barely touched the content in either of the first two expansions.

I decided to dust off Destiny for while to play crucible after not playing for 2 months....and the matchmaking is still fucking trash. Solo players vs a fireteam and it's a 4 v 5. God I fucking hope Destiny's 2 matchmaking is improved.

I've watched this about 10 times and it looks like Nova Bomb at least will have an evolution that slows the bomb down, makes it bigger, and acts and something like a black hole that pulls enemies in. The cut in this clip is quick but I believe I see a Vex in the bomb's right side yet sucked downward diagonally towards the bomb.

Maybe it's like Zarya's Graviton Surge?

Have they shown any new weapon types in Destiny 2? From what I remember in what little I played of Destiny 1, there were only a handful of different weapons (at least in the beginning) that were variations of "ordinary" weapons like pistols, rifles, assault rifles, rocket launchers etc. Nothing that screamed sci-fi or acted differently which felt like a shame when their earlier Halo games had a slew of alien weapons that usually had some different characteristics and feel to them.

I know that later in the game there are exotic weapons and whatnot with special abilities, but what I saw never strayed from the ordinary bullet shooting type of weapons. Will there be some more perhaps exotic looking guns? Beam weaponry? Guns that shoots icicles or whatever? I'm looking at gameplay videos and so far I've still only seen the usual rifles and stuff.

The new weapon types are grenade launchers and SMGs. So, nothing futuristic. The only "sci-fi" weapon is the fusion rifle. That's what we know so far.

Is there any word on the level cap? I ask because if it holds to 20 at launch then it makes no sense to buy the game on day one because the level cap has to get raised at some point. Correct me if I'm wrong but Destiny 1 raise the level cap with bundled DLC. Bundled DLC is another discussion that could derail this thread so I'll refrain and hope that others refrain from going there.

If the level cap is 40 at launch then I feel somewhat better about the game.

If that's all you saw, that would be where you're wrong kiddo(joking).

Must have missed registering that one, from the gameplay reveal right? Definitely a step in the right direction. When you have a super futuristic society with alien invaders etc. there is bound to be some weirder hackjobs of alien+human tech or something. Hope to see more of this kind of thing.

Really makes me wish that more studios had the weapon creativity of Insomniac Games. :p
