Males of Gaf, would you ever donate your sperm?

Do you want to know how an egg donor feels?

I donated my eggs. I can elaborate on your questions but it's from a chick's perspective.

For sure. I honestly didn't really think about egg donating, but it essentially boils down to the same points.

Did you have the same concerns?

I've donated my semen to so many places, it would be nice to finally get paid for it.

No, the thought of potentially having a child out there and not knowing them would be too much. Are they okay? Are they loved? Do they need help? It would just play on my mind over and over.

I don't have the genes for it, but I'd absolutely do a blind donation. I see no reason why not, since they wouldn't be able to trace it back.

Eh, why not? Easy money, and I personally don't care if (most likely) my sperm is used by a person for have a child.

Plus, I will have assurance my genes won't die with me.

Heard crazy stories about sperm donors being liable for child support so no.
Also heard that you can't cum for quite some time before your donation.

Elsewise, maybe. I would help someone else and get paid for.

The way some of you are acting is as if you're knocking a woman up and being an irresponsible father. You're giving a person, or a couple, a gift that they want very much. It's putting good karma in the world, I absolutely would.

I'm a 4x egg donor.

I started when I was 25/26, and ended when I was 28. Like you, the money was the initial draw, although I thought the idea was "cool."

This means that I have multiple children, which I actually don't really think of as "my" children. I don't think of myself as having kids with multiple strange men. They're my genetic offspring but they're not my children, they're not my kids, and I have no connection to them.

I read a LOT about how the children felt. I read a lot of heartbreaking stories, actually, from the children's perspectives, but there's also bias in the responses. You're more likely to write about something that was especially sad or hard on you. There are tons of children out there who are the children of donors and are happy and healthy and well adjusted. Not all recipients of sperm/eggs are going to be good parents, and that's just something I have to live with. My comfort was knowing that most of them would be going to well-off homes, which meant they'd hopefully have not difficult lives.

TBH I didn't think at all about what if my kids showed up and were more successful or whatever. Why would that even matter :(. All I would want to know, if they showed up in 18 years (and I hope they do), is that they are happy. That would matter the most to me. That's the only thing I can really think about when I think about them-- that I hope they'll come look for me and I hope that they'll be healthy and happy and only curious, not feeling like they are missing something. I'd love to introduce them to my family, their biological family, but in the end I want them to understand that family isn't blood, but who loved you and who cared for you and who was a part of your life.

I registered on 23andme, solely because I wanted the donor kids to have a way to find me and connect with me if they chose to.

Yeah, I'm definitely not emotionally mature yet to have a child, which is probably why my mind goes to those places when thinking about donating. My mind doesn't distinguish the too, one just being offspring and the other being children. To me they are the same exact thing, except one you don't have to raise.

I made, on average, double that per donation. My last donation was $25,000. I'm tall, slim, pale, graduate school educated, with pure Chinese ancestry, decent test scores, and apparently cheerful disposition. You can make much more if you're prettier and go to a better school than I did.
Oh my god. What is the process? I couldn't imagine its as "simple" as sperm donating, is it?

Not that it matters in practical terms to me, but is this under 6feet tall denial a real thing? I knew that there was some height discrimination going on in the dating scene but this is on another level x'D

Yes and no.

No you won't necessarily be turned away outright.

Yes you get paid more the more "desirable" your genes are.

Yes you are more likely to be picked more the taller you are, along with better looking, better educated, etc. When I was open for donating I had a wait list for couples looking to get my eggs. I assume for men it's easier to donate more.

This thread is educational for me in the sense that I wasn't aware that there was this kind of scene for this. I mean I knew about sperm donating and egg donating etc. but I didn't know there was this kind of market for it. The more you know.

This is patently untrue if you donate to a reputable company under the supervision of an actual doctor.

I keep hearing this and every single time someone has actually read more about the case, they always go "ohhhhh."

It's sensationalist garbage.
This. I did it for five years and have never had a problem. The potential children wouldn't even be able to look you up until they're eighteen.

I would but no one would want my spermies Cuz they just too damn good. Don't think the eggs would handle my dank spermies. Nah but I would if I had any qualities that someone would want. Too bad I don't.

Were it impossible to be tracked down then I might. No issue donating for thems that need it, but while it might have my dna I wouldn't consider it my child and wouldn't want anything to do with it.

Wife and I are having our own in a few months.

How tall and good looking are you?

Apparently some have height requirements.
Like what? I'm a 6ft male with no diagnosed allergies nor any serious health issues and what I have been told is a somewhat attractive face. I'm curious if I'd be considered as a candidate.
