FBI conducted predawn raid of former Trump campaign chairman Manafort’s home

It could also have been intended to send a message to President Trump’s former campaign chairman that he should not expect gentle treatment or legal courtesies from Mueller’s team.

They're not messing around anymore.

I'm always puzzled about the concept of finding incriminating pieces of paper at the house of a person who was already being investigated upon. Any reason to believe Manafort would not have already shredded and burnt everything?

Keep some incriminating stuff around just in case the Backstabber-in-Chief tried to throw him under the bus

This might also explain the desperate attempts by Trump to butter up to Mueller, which is obviously not gonna work.

*Puts on Tin foil hat*

What if the reason they're doing construction in the White House right now was to get Trump out so Mueller and Co. can check the whole place 🤔

Trump's Twitter from that day. You might almost think something is on his mind

There's also an electronic trail. Unless he's really good at deleting all his files on his computers, they can recover stuff in there too. Some people think they're clever.

Question. Could a President be arrested during wartime? All this NK stuff....

There's very little chance NK would actually attack anyone currently. Even Rex said that himself today. But who knows if Trump would start a war to save his own ass.

We are talking about a man that wishes to be the desire of attention, that throws a tantrum when something doesn't go his way and is desperate to be right. Yeah, I'm having a hard time not thinking about Trump starting a war.

Documents and other materials. Could include hard drives, phones etc.

Also, Team Trump is not exactly the smartest group of people....

He's going to bring up the movie 'Wag the Dog' at his staff meeting today.

Keen to get excited but keep in mind - the FBI conducted these kinds of raids, recovering records and making extensive interviews, all throughout the Watergate investigation...before passing them onto the White House for approval. What matters is what they decide to follow up on.

Eventually someone is going to break and squeal. They've got to notice that they're being loyal to the most unloyal person in modern politics. Better get those sweet deals before Trump and family throws you under the bus.

crazy that trump having a temper tantrum about one thing can cause him to try to eliminate the rights of unrelated people.

but this is super good news that will hopefully get us closer to getting him out. gotta think they wouldn't make moves like this without seriously believing they're on a trail. hopefully it means they're further along than we think

Trumper tantrum : p

Not to hyperbole but this seems like a BFD

Adam Goldman @adamgoldmanNYT

FBI seizes Manafort records, ones typically sought when investigating violations of Bank Secrecy Act.

The liberal groups during 2016 connected the dots and said Manafort was a bagman for the Putin government, moving dirty money around various investment vehicles. It's starting to seem like it.

It's possible that's already happened and it's just being kept under wraps.

It's exciting to think about everything that we don't know yet.

This is a big fucking deal.

They're doing raids in the dead of the night now? I wonder if Flynn flipped/fully cooperated, since he seemed like the first person who should have been raided.
I've converted my one bedroom apartment into a really bitchin' happening bunker.

Maybe they can hire Lionel Mandrake to summarise everything for the public.

I can just imagine it now:

Our story began with Donald Trump staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Moscow... and so on.
