This is a packed fall. New Call Of Duty actually looks buyable, Shenmue 3, Death Stranding, Outer Worlds and Star Wars Fallen Order means its a no from me dog. If Doom wasn't delayed it would have just been a bigger no...
They just picked a horrid time to try to release it in such a packed fall. The game just doesn't stand a chance outside of the hardcore that buy those IP. I like the series, but Nintendo should have went all in with that series when it first came out, not waiting almost 20 years to remember it exist or something. Lots of those who loved the original, I think already moved on years before 2 came out and even more so when 3 is coming out. So I think they needed to strike while the iron was hot and give it some room to be competitive for new comers like a spring or even summer release. Seeing how Splatoon has a sequel, I think they learned that lesson on leaving money on the table like that with IP. So I might buy it some time next year, used. Just don't feel it at $60. Maybe $30 used.

Yes and no. A store can discount a game for a sale sure where they take the loss. We see that every year, like when folks kept making it seem like it was a big deal that BFV was on sale, ignoring so was Red Dead 2 and Smash Bros Ultimate, but many times a publisher can give a discount to the retailer to give them incentive to have a sale for greater returns.....Nintendo rarely does that. Its why you have to look at the used market to really get good deals on those titles.

Agreed. The first is such a classic. In my top 20 best games of that generation. Massively underrated and criminal that Nintendo waited so long before supporting it again. The game almost moved like 3 million units and thats a huge deal around 2001-2002 etc, yet Nintendo thinks its smart to not actually support that 3 million. I think 2 if put on Wii would have moved HUGE units for them, even more if they had a DS version. They just waited too long. I think the 3DS sequel shows that fans wanted the series for some time.
