I can't wait to play this game once there's a third person mod working
This game shouldn't be experienced in any other way than First person. They designed it so well around it. For me it has created an immersion than I have never gotten before from first person.

I understand that you might be some one who gets sick because of first person but if you can, play it in First Person.

Also does any one else keeps catching on fire?.. it says overheating and then I catch fire. Not sure what's causing it.
It happens to me as well.

Not sure if an enemy is hacking me to cause it or if it was part of the story. It stopped a while ago.

Edit: Person above me is on the money.

Im playing on the one X, just left my apartment. Frame rate is alright but the visuals look better than I thought. So far I like it but the interface is cumbersome, not really a fan.

I will try and take screenshots later once I get use to the game.

Trying to figure out how it would work third person. Maybe a toggle for combat. Gotta have the conversations in first person. They’re so good l.

Still going through the prologue but goodness me, I’m loving the game so far and pleasantly surprised by how well it looks and runs on the XsX. Was dreading an ugly and buggy mess but it’s been the opposite.

If the next-gen patch smooths out the frame rate and adds in some raytracing... giddy up.

I was reading posts and comments on that subreddit for a good 15+ minutes before I had to stop, and hop on here. It was kinda making me dizzy, although it could also be because I'm tired, I've been playing the game almost nonstop all day. Maybe once the dust settles and after many improvements, people who are disappointed will revisit it and appreciate it more. I definitely see where the criticisms are coming from, but in my experience the things this game does right, heavily outweigh the things it does wrong.
The people writing hate posts on Reddit aren’t the people enjoying the game.

The people enjoying the game are too busy playing to post.

i just spent the night reeling from that act 1 ending and then doing nothing but side quests tonight, because I don’t know how much rougher this plot is going to get.

I also humped a hooker, but I thoroughly zoomed in on that bikini line first to make sure she wasn’t packing. Sex scenes are a bit graphic, I must say. It’s borderline Skinimax.

I really fucking love this game and it turned into everything I hoped it would be. CDPR are the bests devs out there at the moment, truly. Rockstar and CDPR are truly industry leaders at the moment.

How anyone could make this claim with the myriad of glaring bugs and issues that plague every version of the game is absolutely beyond me.

Just fucking baffling.

Unreal how many bugs are in this! In the Heist mission when you get the relic, if Jackie keeps dissapearing hit the switch to open the safe really quickly before going to try and opem it amd you need to keep Jackie in your view at all times or it breaks the quest

I can tell there’s a great game hiding in here among the blurry assets and clunkiness on PS5; like an amazing one. I just hope they continue to patch this game until it shines because while it’s enjoyable in its current state, it could be vastly improved with some polish.

Nah, I just prefer third person, especially for walking around a city.
I'm sure it's great in the first person and exactly what the developer intended. But that is not relevant to what's fun for me.

I would at least wait for whatever patch brings it up to XSX quality. I want to play more but the blur is kind of ruining the experience just enough.

Plus the HDR is messed. Who knows if that will ever get fixed though.

The NPCs seem really janky so far. Have also seen several visual bugs. So far it's kind of eh. Probably should wait until it's next-gen ready and polished

Is there confirmation the XSX looks better? I assumed they’d be pretty damn close.

There is no confirmation yet, as nobody has done the official comparison, but one is running the XB1X mode in BC with all the extra bells and whistles and the other is running PS4Pro port.

Basically its going to be how those old consoles were handled and how the new consoles handle BC games.

There are no extra optimizations or anything else that make them next gen enhanced.

It’s literally running the BC version of old games that nobody plays.

In story dialogues and whatnot they look pretty close. But out in free roam XSX can get noticeably higher in res for either of it's visual modes. This might be at the cost of a less stable framerate though.

First impressions:

I'm not reading all the other unspoiled posts in case they chew the game out before i have a chance to have my own opinion on it. So far I think the game (which I'm playing on ps4 pro ) will look better when i get a 4k tv, a lot of details are lost in a kind of restrictive POV.

Also, don't love the visual style of certain parts - all kinda, 90s LA which feels a bit like a decaying playground.. maybe a great way to capture the setting.. but the setting itself lacks a certain charm...

It's crashed twice, and frame rate slows when moving at speed, but this is something i don't give a crap about because i grew up at a time when PCs very quickly got sluggish with new titles, and I'm sure they'll patch it. I also somewhat expect a fix for some clothing physics and texture pop-in)

I don't really like the way you're funneled into a sleazeball kinda start.. I'd happily do things long and tough if it let me decide if
my guy spends the first year after losing his corpo job joyriding and shooting shit up.
.

Finally, in a early car chase scene i felt compelled to shoot an enemy.. I'm playing on very hard and if I'd just let them blaze away at me until the next cutscene i would have died.. i hate this because i fully intended to go for a non kill playthrough. I look forward to someone letting me know how to get around that.

Neutral.. I've not got far into the story but they're really trying hard to make it the most narrative game ever.. a ridiculous amount of voice work.. character models aren't as great as possible, but i blame the stiff looking clothes on my platform.. expect them to be better on next gen.

Positive.. not much so far, i love the general design of the whole UI, and it does seem to offer a robust alternative to combat - which i never intended to engage in. The car looks cool, and driving it is pretty fun.

The main positive i can say is i still believe in this game and believe it will be an awesome experience. Nothing bad about it is game breaking, it just hasn't really had a chance to shine for me yet.

game kinda slow in prologue for sure and story well not very amazing i think, its not blade runner game i maybe waited and its not even deus ex game, i think it has too much shooting options or forced shooting even. some side activities sure but why you do all that game kinda not explains much, you just do those things because .. ? because you need to pay for rent ? duno looks like that.
sometimes textures not loading in time , sometimes NPC talks without moving mouth at all, even main mission NPC characters . sometimes you shooting gun and there is no sound, then later its appears, its stuff that happens that need to be fixed still. but game not crashing for now that is good.

Anyone figure out how to raise athletics? Can’t for the life of me figure out how to raise it
Running. I had to chase a car through an industrial area on foot and was left stranded. Running back to the city I gained 2 athletics %’s. Probably anything that drains stamina would work?

Played a few more hours, got past the title card and into the main game proper. It's starting to grab me more with the story and the gameplay mechanics, though not all entirely clicked into place yet. It's definitely compelling stuff; similar to W3 it can be messy and clunky at times but also very engrossing and difficult to put down.

yes its a girl with gun and yes shes pointing it to head , and yes scenes like those mostly look flat as there are no shadows , AO is maxed but seems like its zero AO there

in some cases AO works good on skin but other times it looks just flat

Sort of getting some more bugs now as I'm advancing through actual story missions for the prologue. Does anyone have an issue with enemies kind of just appearing in front of you? It happens with NPCs in the street as well, but I'm not sure if it;s some weird optic thing out of combat. You can see how ambitious this game is, and I think they've done well overall. There's a lot to take in, so I don't think people are gonna familiar with the options and mechanics until about 20 hours. So I can see the first impressions being quite muted, then growing and eventually people loving it towards the end. That's the vibe it gives me anyway.

I triggered the alarm at some point and a few waves of enemies attacked me. I cleared out the last humans, then literally in front of me, one of the mechs just appeared. Out of thin air. Also the mini boss just got stuck in the elevator and ran at the window lol.

PS: I fucking loved getting Jackies bike afterwards

I have some thoughts on the game, having played it on Xbox Series X for about 8 hours so far.

The game is fun, the city has this odd mix of alive and dead at the same time, some things are better than GTA V does it, while some others are worse. Game can be quite hard at time and I accidentally started a very hard side gig and got my ass handed to me. I just wish the game had some form of transmog system in place, because my character looks like a clown at the moment. I also feel the lack of a close in third person view (Gears 5 for example) could have been implemented as well. Combat is solid, if nothing too spectacular, but the RPG mechanics seem fun so far.

The game looks pretty good on Xbox Series X in the quality mode. Just turn off film grain, chromatic aberration, and set the HDR tone mapping to 1. Obviously not nearly as good as the PC version, but I can see this game being quite a looker when the next gen patch launches on the consoles.

My guess as to the upgrades, RT reflections, and maybe AO/Shadows as well, higher LOD, better volumetrics, and better shadow quality. 30FPS 1440p+ dynamic resolution. RT off, and some reduced settings for 60FPS.

From what I can see between the PS5 and the XSX, the XSX seems to be the superior version at the moment, but the next-gen patch would likely have near parity between the two.

As for base PS4/Xbox One, I have no idea how they are going to boost performance for them. They both drop to 720p, have framerate drops to 15FPS at times and basically have every single setting paired back. They have to somehow make the game run 50% better on base consoles for them to actually be worth a damn. If I was a Xbox One/PS4 owner and got this game, I would demand a refund.

CDPR should have cancelled this game for PS4/Xbox One, and given it another year of development time to iron out all the numerous issues it is having. But I guess they had financial obligations and shareholders to consider.

Lastly, my characters dick peeking out of my pants is a hilarious bug. Does rocking out with my cock out make my character a honorary Rockerboy?
