Some people are mad when the PS5 loading faster than PC/XSX.

Just imagine if there were no technical parity clause..
Both consoles GPU show signs of choking in intense scenes. Are you suggesting the difference would be bigger? I could see load times being longer on PS5 but graphics wise I’d say they both hit their limit

I actually deal in facts, you're wrong.

I've downloaded RE to my Series X storage card, played the game. I then take the card and plug into my Series S and guess what? It plays with no additional data! How does it do this?

A) Magic
B) The files for both versions are in one download.

You'll work it out eventually.

Yeah, you will. Think on it for 10 seconds, then you'll work it out.

Interestingly enough, the series console have quick resume, which begs the question: does loading really matter for xbox? I can essentially load the game once, and play in quick resume...forever

The PS5 version has activity cards what is almost the same as quick resume since you jump directly back where you left off.

VRR is not magic.Digital Foundry praises because they need to, so that they can cover developers' laziness.

Even if there isn't tear or judder, a rocky framerate never feels smooth as much as a locked framerate.

I see VRR as a gimmick that should only be used for minor FPS variatons between 57-60.
??? So much bullshit in this post. Just say you don't understand VRR and move on. PS5 will have it soon enough, so there's still time to delete your post

Having played the demo, I think the architecture looks good but when you get closer to it, the illusion is easily broken by kinda rough looking textures in spots and a general lack of interactivity with the environment. Even the gore and enemy animation appears to be a lot of worse than the RE2 Remake. And maybe it was the demo with compressed audio files but the "3D Audio" to me wasn't that great. The character models do look good though but I don't think this is a good next-generation showcase. Hopefully, RE9 or the RE4 Remake take more steps forward.

I can't believe that xbox fan is going so hard on the loading. Even if there is some kind of mistake and it was less. There's no need to go that insane on twitter over it. Pretty poor.

Anyway I'm installing right now so super excited to get into this soon!

Will see how this bad boy performs on my X in the flesh!

I tested loading on my Series X as well, it was around 4 seconds or so. I tested that with multiple different save points, so maybe the 8 seconds is due to a bug? No idea to be honest.
Seemed faster to me, but meh, I don't really no longer care for this. It's good enough for me, if it's less than 10 sec.

Interesting that Sony's greatest strength, the SSD loading while impressive, is undone by the series' Quick Resume. 2 seconds of loading is crazy impressive, not having to load the game...like ever with quick resume more impressive

This point seems to keep getting lost. I can't remember the last time I had to boot up AC: Valhalla. Even with my 6 year old playing his games I just click AC and boom! Right where I left off with no load time.

Game changer

Just like a PS4 game on a PS4 Pro, magic!

VRR isnt downplayed or dismissed. It's a bit like HDR, how many people have displays with good HDR? With VRR it's even worse, because it's such a recent addition to the market, and only some TVs support it.

It's great for those who have it, it's great that Xbox already supports it (benefit of MS not selling TVs, meanwhile Sony won't enable VRR on PS5 because they don't have TVs supporting it yet), and as it becomes more common more and more people will be in on it and framerate fluctuations will matter even less.
I never really thought about it like that regarding Sony. Interesting.

But come on, lots of people are dismissive of it. We all know what goes on around here.

Who is doing that?

Is it theones that believe the XSXs I/O is faster than the PS5s?

Both systems have their advantages. Neither one is superior to the other in every single way. People should know that by now.

PS5 + PS5 DE have the same smaller game package while XSX pay for a bigger download because of the XSS version🤔. Yeah, right… I would not use it as an excuse Riky ;).
lol yes.

It's either XSX package does not contain the XSS version (and PS5 indeed has smaller game sizes because of file management and powerful decompression) or Xbox Smart Delivery is a scam by Phil 😛 /s

Did it recover after restarting the game?

I noticed something similar when changing the resolution up/down in the demo version. After moving it down (which makes it even more strange) it would tank below 20fps and stay there unless I restarted the game.

The series S would be better than the PS5 version then! Unlimited possibilities.
yeah restart helped no problem. but when I run too much around the hub part, it happens again. Only 2 times so far so no big deal

I am 30 minutes in and I spend so much time in each scene. Omg the game looks incredible. Wow. Sure I am playing on 3080 and 48" oled in my face with blinds down but holy detail.
I have it all maxed. Is vrs balanced free fps?
It has a cost. Notice the signboard.

Well since I've actually just moved the game from my Series X to S via the storage card in the last hour and it just booted up straight away then can you explain how that works then? I'd be really interested to find out.

Because there is only one build for this game on both the Xbox and PS consoles. It's not that hard to understand.

When you go to the PS Store, there is no "selectable version" like there is with other cross-gen games, there is only one version to buy that works across the PS4 to PS5. Same for Xbox. It's the same version across all boxes, they just run on different settings depending on the box (1S, 1X, XSS, XSX) it's on.

Are you sure? I haven't looked at this on the PS5 store yet, but I thought I noticed something in common with cross gen games. It seemed to me that if you already have the game, it lets you download either version. And if you did not, and it had two sku's, I think it only shows the PS5 on PS5. I could be wrong as its only been a week and I haven't really tried buying anything yet.

Seeing the differences between XSX and PS5 loading times, I can't wait to see a game made for PS5 from the ground up which really takes the streaming tech to a new level
yeah but you know ...seeiing that the ps5 is already dropping frames in this game ..as i said 30000 times the real prob for both console will be still be the gpu

We already eplained that to you over and over again.

And you did never tested the opposite... download first the S version to run on X version.

I have, unless the game is "shrinkable" then it makes no difference and this game is not "shrinkable" I've explained that to you over and over again.
It also wouldn't change the fact that the Series X download size contains files for both would it, try thinking.

Yes. There is only one file that works across the family of consoles for RE8 (and this may be something devs are doing going forward). If you also notice, Sony has gone back and combined their launch cross gen games into "PS4 & PS5" one file now. There are no more "purchase the PS4 or PS5 versions separately" like there used to be. Before you used to choose which version, now even the older games only have one version for both consoles. Valhala in the example you used to have to choose which version, same with Spider-Man and Fenyx, etc., now I noticed devs are going through their listings (or Sony) and combining them into one version for all consoles,

The Show still has the old way that launch had,

So it some devs are opting for one file now, since they can probably discern settings in the SDK rather than two different builds now on both boxes. It's either built into the SDKs or devs are making these changes in their engines on their end.

Yes, one PS file that works for the entire family of PS consoles, and the Xbox file that works for the entire family of XB consoles.

Man it is hard to you.

Smart Delivery works like that... it downloads the assets specially to the Xbox platform you playing... so if you are downloading on Series X it will download the high quality textures if the game has different texture quality between versions.

When you move the same data do Series S the render engine auto shrink the texture in run-time so the result is the low quality assets of that version. But when you move the downloaded Series S data with lower quality assets to Series X it will need to download and replace the assets.

The fact the downloaded game on Series S has less size than the downloaded game on Series X tells you are just contnue with the same mistakes.

The versions are still different.
If you are on PS5 it downloads auto the PS5 one.
On PS4 it downloads auto the PS4 one.

Sony change just removed the option for PS users do download the PS4 version on PS5 instead the PS5 one.

BTW the PS5 and PS4 versions have different sizes.
