Looks like EA is not involved with the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake

Different developers, different publishers, different writers... Why would anyone be excited for this at this point? I'm not saying it will be horrible and being all Debbie Downer; I'm saying what do we know so far that is exciting?

This will almost certainly be nothing like the old game. Have they even said whether it will be an rpg?

EA weren’t involved in the original and the old BioWare is long gone.

Get hyped for a port house who never actually made a game before remaking a beloved classic.
1. Its a remake not a "port" not sure where you got that information from as the works remake are pretty fucking bold in the marketing for it.

2. Yet Bluepoint at some point never remade a game and just did ports....before making several of the best remakes ever made.

3. They have to start somewhere and Asypr is a solid fucking team. Sony also hired a bunch of veterans for some new team to join them on top of Sony's own developers also joining (likely the team that will take over the KOTOR series as I doubt they are just stopping with KOTOR 1 and 2)

4. Stay mad -_-

BigBooper BigBooper The lolz at now begging for EA to publish a game vs Sony when many on here where begging for Disney to pull that license from EA in the first place.

Also, some of the developers who worked on the original are confirmed to have been hired to work on this.

Where did I say it was a port? I said it was a remake. But Aspyr has never made a game before. They only ported, mostly PC games to the Mac. Bluepoint is completely different as their "ports" were always upgraded and basically remakes.

I think people are more concerned that Bioware isn't involved at all, not that EA isn't publishing it.

Thats nice.

Yet Bluepoint at some point was only a port house too...

They have to start somewhere and I'd argue Aspyr is an older team that has done more work then Bluepoint, look them up sir. You not hearing of them before doesn't mean they are no one and have done nothing, just means you've not heard of them, but you haven't heard of many things so......yea.

They are a more established and veteran team by like decades sir, you just sleep Mana lolz

Stay sleeping bud

Andodalf Andodalf ....easier to just say Disney lol

Your comprehend bad. When did I beg to get EA to publish it? As mentioned earlier, EA didn't publish the original either.

I'll believe their influence when I see it. I hope it turns out fantastic.

I can't believe that.

Why would they hire somebody who admitted they didn't like the game?!

In fact, why would you rewrite it to begin with?

Calling BS on that. Pure, fresh out the ass BS.

The claim that she said it wasn't her favorite Star Wars is the dumbest fanboy clickbait Youtube outrage I've seen in a while.

Didn't see the video until now. It's Sam Maggs. Someone who likes the Sequel Trilogy. Meaning she's public enemy #1 for the YouTube outrage peddlers.

"different publishers, different writers... Why would anyone be excited for this" Clearly, you are implying in order for someone to be "excited" for this, it would need the original publisher, EA being one of em.

They actually did.... funny enough, when Aspyr ported it last time, you can see the legal stuff of EA publishing on their site

So yes, EA was indeed one of the publishers.

They've done many, many ports before and I think its a solid ass team to work on it next to Bluepoint. They already have some of the original developers of KOTOR on board and Sony hired a bunch of other developers to work on this too as Aspyr is too small of a team to expect them to do it on their own. So I trust that they were picked to do this cause they are a veteran team at this and Sony as publisher will get the right people to work on this to make it as epic as it needs to be.

XXL XXL Agreed. First its worry that its not by original publisher the saint EA, oh but we really mean not by Bioware...yea, thats the REAL worry here. /s The fuck? Bioware needs to stay the fuck away from this IP at all cost. NEW Bioware isn't even fucking trusted by many around here with the IP they have now, let alone something like KOTOR where most of that original staff isn't even at Bioware anymore.

The leaps some folks are going to around here is so fucking funny, to literally "worry" and have "concern" about EA and Bioware not being involved might be one of the funniest things I've read on here all day. Where the fuck was this desire to support that combo for Mass Effect Andromeda or Dragon Age 3? Keep in mind, I still feel those are some solid titles, but my point is many on here didn't feel that way, bashed the publisher and developer to no ends.... now magically they MUST be involved in one of the most beloved RPGs of all time?

Nah.... I'm not buying none of that.

We'll just have to agree to disagree that you don't comprehend well.

What do you expect from such a YouTube channel. Anybody who believes the lies that drip from the lips of Jeremy from the Quartering is an idiot.

I, for one, am super happy EA and current-day Bioware are nowhere near this.

This.

I thought I heard it all on here and not folks out here really trying to make us believe they think BIOWARE NEEDS to work on this for it to be good.

Where the fuck was that hype when they did Anthem? Mass Effect Andromeda? Dragon Age 3? Oh but NOW we need Bioware to make this game good, but fuck them other games though? I personally had little issue with Mass Effect and Dragon Age, but folks on here made it sound like the end of days, yet we are to believe they are now needed to make this game whole....

The issues that I do have with Bioware more so on a technical front. I can disagree with a story or design and still like a game, but the technical issues with their latest games can't be excused or ignored. Until any of that is fixed with like SEVERAL games that are 100% solid, I don't want them near this license. Aspyr would have been my second pick right next to Bluepoint games to do this.

Yep, this literally killed all hype instantly for me. All the reeeeeees complain it came the the Quartering even though he literally shows evidence on like 5 different occasions. You know she will ruin it, it’s an absolute given.

It's both correct but also exaggerated.

Correct: She is as bad as they claim.
Exaggerated: She didn't really say she doesn't like the game, but I think said it's not her favorite one or something? Also she has worked on many major games, like Ratchet and Clank and Call of Duty.

It's just kind of sensationalist honestly. Granted, no one has any reason to be excited for this game yet for the above reason, and the reason that the studio is unproven, and that they are heavily redesigning the gameplay and probably the dialogue as well.

So yeah ... just wait and see I guess on this one lol. I'd also purchase the originals in case they ever get delisted. They're both $10.

Combat in the original game looks dreadful. People should be a little more happy that it's even being remade.

They are a publisher, not a game maker. Bioware made the original and while not involved, they have their thought muffins in place to make exactly what no one wants.

Jesus and people really get paid for doing that shit.

These people must have zero dignity. I mean generally speaking SOME of your dignity goes out the window working for any company... BUT shilling for EA must be soul draining. That or EA just hired an already soulless person. Scary in either case.

I didn't realize anyone thought EA had anything to do with it.

I do think people need to lower expectations a tad and think Aspyr and not bluepoint.

I agree. Sony and Disney are awfully cozy and Sony sure does need some western RPGs since Microsoft has them all now. KOTOR is as big as they come.

The plot thickens.
