one game that isn't GOAT caliber, they are permanently shit?
They intentionally LIED about the state of the game, not delivered a lot of the features promised, delayed the game few times (once even after becoming gold) and even then the AI or number of bugs are horrible.

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
Way to go Witcher fans come game time you already know your prayers came true. It’s the only game talked about in the last 30 years Witcher 1-2 are ignored it’s performance and combat is questionable Witcher is a rpg grinder and fans of the series are upset cyberpunk isn’t as valuable.

Originally played this on PS4, Death March, 300hrs in and never completed the base game.

Picked up the GoTY edition awhile ago for a cool $15 cad on Series X when they first announced this update so I’m looking forward to checking this all out again along with the DLCs.

i don't know about PS5 but if you have an Xbox One disc and put it into an Xbox Series X then you should get the Series X version. we'll need more info but maybe they are giving the DLC to everyone now? who knows.

Yeah, I'm not actually sure if the PS4 version is first installed and then patched to become the PS5 version, or if the disc install is just skipped and the full PS5 version is downloaded. Either way the disc is gonna be required to actually play it of course.

The game is already 60 fps on Xbox and load times are faster, so I am expecting a bigger upgrade

Is that with FPS Boost?

Edit: Ah.....just found the DF article. 60fps on One X. 30fps on PS4 Pro. I was about to say, no way what I am playing on PS5 is 60 fps. lol

I can only assume you have played every masterpiece made in the last 7 years.

Yes and no, yes if the game is something that I would consider playing, and no as games like Persona and turn-based games could be masterpieces but unplayable to my taste. I've preordered The Witcher 3 with the season pass and would've paid $400 for that joy I had out of it. My anger is mostly for how shit CDPR have been and not bringing The Witcher 4.

“Hey guys forget about cyberpunk remember how awesome witcher 3 is!! Dont you love the witcher 3!!???”

cdpr as they hope for this to be enough to tide fans over for the next year while they try to get next gen versions of cyberpunk ready.

Will they finally fix the lighting bug on the Xbox One X version? It's only been 3 years.

Also, has anyone played this on Series X? Can you confirm if that bug is still present? It should be, since it's the same version. But maybe Series X magically fixes it.

AFAIK they never fixed it. There were also audio glitches in the PS4/pro version that got added in the last patch that never got fixed.

Good patch for people who never played the game, improved visuals for free, we take those.
I played it already 2 times so i will not play it again but i will definitely check it out to see how it looks with the patch.

Gosh I'm hoping they put a lot of effort into it. I want another excuse to play again. I get the feeling the PC version will just be updates Gerald model and some uprezzed textured.

No. According to these remaster experts on game development. Having another studio known for porting apparently means that all new games being cancelled.
I know this situation very well.
It's like the Halo developers who were forced to work on Xbox 360 backwards compatibility for several years. That's why Halo Infinite had to be delayed.

Is it still 30 frames, as of now, on Series X?

I enjoyed the game well enough to complete it. I must have appreciated the world and storytelling, because the gameplay can be quite dull. I want to revisit it with the update, but I'll only be able to stick to it if it actually feels better to play now, rather than just looking better.

It is going to be free in either case.
Yes.
But the user I quoted wrote that "it isn't a patch". On Xbox it will be a patch.

Edit:
Unless his point is that "patch" is the wrong word because a "patch" is supposed to fix an error. My bad in this case.

This game has had a 60fps performance mode for a long time. On One X, it uses a dynamic resolution in the 1080p-1440p range and varies in framerate, depending on location and game content. There might be some analysis vids somewhere of the game on Series X. I don't know. It might have a higher possible resolution ceiling and I'm pretty certain it would lock to 60fps on Series X.

If you have the original disc you could get 60 fps unpatched on the One X, not really sure if it applies to the Series X too or not, I’d assume not.

I guess, if I'm being honest, I was hoping there'd be some type of gameplay update, even similar to how they patched in the alternative control method for Geralt a few years back. That's okay though, I know that's expecting a lot.

Would rather have the PS5 version of Cyberpunk - something that was actually planned for and promised.
Me too ..you think there's a chance they'll pull an "anthem 2.0" and never do it?

My worry is there's the same discourse surrounding Cyberpunk as Anthem. How many times have you heard "they should just move on", "cancel it, who even cares at this point" etc etc

Hoping CDP is not as shitty a company as EA Albemarle I guarantee EA execs used those comments to justify their decision to cancel Anthem 2.0.

I feel like with both games these studios have an obligation to their fans to make good on their promises.

That lightning bug is from playing on a non hdr screen finally upgraded my tv to 4K and hdr and it was gone

Been waiting. Going to be great to play again as I never did any of the DLC.

The 2013 trailer was a vertical slice, not a game. CDPR confirmed as such later on.

They are not going to re-build the entire game at its foundations and swap out half the assets to make it look like that.

Expect PC max settings with possibly a couple new minor systems tacked-on, like ray-tracing for water reflections, new cloth physics or stuff like that.

Unfortunate, as to why I don't think this developer should be trusted with any of their trailers tbh.

I don't have an issue with them confirming this, I have an issue with them waiting til the game was already on sale and in consumer hands before saying this.

Great. I bought the XBox GOTY version for about $4 a few months back. Figured it was worth buying again and letting it sit until after the upgrade. Looking forward to another run. I'm doing the same with Cyberpunk. Bought that for a couple of bucks. Played about an hour of it and decided I'd rather wait until it's all patched and somewhat closer to the game they claimed it was going to be
