Who handled this collection, please don't say the GTA team because if true no wonder we ain't seen a game from them in a while, GTA6 is fucked.
the same company who did the mobile ports and also who did the ps3/360 ports based off of the mobile ports

I have spend 15 minutes in the Switch version:

- Stuttering all over the place.
- Sometimes LOD models and textures take a while to kick in.
- Terrible graphics.
- Temporal Anti-Aliasing makes everything look like 10 times worse.
- Console crashed at mission two :messenger_tears_of_joy:
- Updated models are random, to say the least. Claude has a decent model, destroyed by the stupid shading of this remaster, but the NPCs are just awful.

It is certainly the worst port I have ever seen from R*.

My highlights of those 15 minutes:

dA3Sgfh.gif

Checkpoints make cars stop instantly, without any kind of deceleration. Claude gets out of the car instantly as well, overlapping the other character, which results in funny moments.

Driving around I/O Struggling-land.

ive had no issues in gta 3 and vice city so far. Haven’t tried SA

looks good on oled and runs stable for me. Haven’t experienced the texture load delay yet

so far. Lol

I don't know if it's just me but it seems like the black levels are constantly being crushed so I it's hard to make out details. Even in the daylight it can be difficult to spot things.

For example: The start of the game when you have to tag grove street on a few different areas, I was literally standing right in front of a fence and couldn't see it. The dark areas are far too crushed ruining detail. Much worse at night obviously.

Am I the only one? Guess I'll have to crank up the brightness and contrast in menu.

Looks terrible. I'm tempted to try out San Andreas on Game pass since i've never played it, but i'll probably just wait for the VR version.

When you look at how rich Rockstar is, and the tens of millions they make monthly from GTA, and then see how litle effort has gone into these remasters, well it just boggles the mind.
If they are prepared to do these remaster on the cheap like this, why should us gamers spend $60 on them?.

I hope people at least wait until they are like $15 or something. We shouldnt reward shit like this.

I'm having a great time with GTA3 - hard to beat nostalgia - but... crashed 3 times within 5 hours and certain parts of liberty city makes the frames drop - like a lot!

Wait for patches if you want a better experience.

Even If you want to play this shit just for nostalgia reasons. Just buy a used copy from eBay.

No money for Take 2 and Rockstar and you can sell this turd and prevent another person from givin them money for this low effort trash.

At least that's what I'm doing.

Why test it? Just prevent early reviews and you can sell this shit because of the Rockstar Name. Easy cash Grab.

I think that's the reason why the retail versions release later. To prevent leaks how bad this trash is.

This is nuts
When this same studio did the PS3 and Xbox 360 port of San Andreas, they completely messed up the swimming and the end result is that you can't possibly swim as fast as you used to in the original game. As a consequence, a few missions where you have to swim faster than some other NPCs are completely bonked and you have to borderline cheat to pass them at all.

They also broke the Flying School menu in a way that made it crash the game when you attempt to choose a lesson and the tutorial video is starting to play. To this day, the only way to go past that (which is mandatory for the main plotline btw) is to pick and open the mission so fast that the game doesn't have time to start playing the tutorial video.

Grove Street Games are a mediocre mobile developer, who is completely out of their depth working on mainline consoles. Rockstar knew it perfectly (the aforementioned San Andreas ports, horribly bugged and mangled and never even slightly fixed after release), so they are well aware that this is literally a cash grab to sell on brand recognition alone while developing for the lowest cost possible.

Watch this sell 2-3 million copies and get patched like once or twice to remove a couple of the most meme bugs, just to then be completely abandoned. It's a movie we already saw a few years ago, but people don't do research and don't learn from the past.

I think what annoys me more than anything is that these games are so historic and iconic, so loved by the vast majority of people, but seemingly not by the studio and staff that actually made them.

God such a frustrating missed opportunity.

I thought Rockstar respected their franchises more than this. It glitched in the first damn cutscene when I booted up San Andreas.

I fear they will never patch these gamers either.

How this developer got to handle these games I don't know, but this is unacceptable.

Please god, don't let these guys do the GTA IV remaster.

I was looking forward to the remasters, glad that playing Forza Horizon 5 put me off preordering this shit show of a remaster. I'll wait till it's fully patched and will maybe buy on sale.

The Buggles were a one hit wonder. You tell me Rockstar couldn't license that song?

Zero effort. BOOMERS RISE UP

It's still in the games files, as noted above, the game just doesn't "see" them because they're excluded from playing, once a modder injects a new script then all the cut music can come back!

Looks like the only good version is the Series X Version.

Okay, so after watching this video, it's not just me thinking the lighting is all off on this remaster. All the darker areas of this game are completely crushed. I haven't encountered any bugs yet but clearly this remaster is poorly done.

Either crushed, or dark shaded areas completely missing. Almost like Ambient Occlusion is turned off. Which would explain why the games look so flat in some cutscenes.

I’ve played a little bit on Series X, maybe an hour & it’s alright.

The main thing I’ve noticed is how much the games have progressed since then, like crashing cars; they basically just bump off eachother and maintain speed.

In my memory (OG PS2) it was a lot closer to GTAV than it clearly was.

The music, meh - everyone in this thread that’s saying they’re not playing because of the music is lying for effect, 100%. It’s just the music
