Martha is dead to be censored/edited on PlayStation platforms, PC and Xbox unaffected.

It's unbelievable how you take fake scenarios so seriously

They are make believe actions inside a fictional story, designed to tell the story.

It's not like anyone is cutting the face off preteen girls for motion capture for the game.

Almost hilarious but still super violent and with realistic graphic and gore, show that to your mom or your grandpa and see how much they laugh...

And how about tlou2? Is that almost hilarious aswell?? Because hearing people praying for their life or gurgle to death is what comedies are all about...

Let's just stop right here dude, it's a waste of time for both parts at this point.
"I understand why sony did it"
"How dare you you multicorporation fanboy my anonymous game who no one know"
It's their platform. They can choose what content is proper or less. Accept it. I just say to understand them. Let's no continue to do stupid comparison which barely have sense. Though they just said to have deleted the interactive part but the scene it's still there.

Does Germany regularly ask for extreme violence to be edited? I know Japan is weird about it and I think Australia has some tough policies, but if that is the case, the edited part should be universal on all platforms and not just Sony’s.
Purposeless violence is getting you banned.
Need to rip the head off an enemy to use said head as a key for a door ? Fine.
Simply stabbing homeless people to death without it being related to the story or an enemy npc etc can lead to a ban.

Maybe Sony don’t want to risk it, MS might not care (especially since EU is not their strongest market).

Since the developers are shy to give details we can’t say for sure what the reasoning is here.

All I know is that the change from QTE to cutscene has given them more media attention then whatever they where doing before.
Maybe Sony was like “could you turn this down a little, if possible?” and they used it as a way to market the game.
In the past these changes would have simply been made and not even communicated.
But today? Viral marketing and all that.

I can’t believe Sony came out with this demand two weeks before release. These game have to get certified way in advance. Anyway

I have to say it's the first time in my life I can't stand a gruesome scene in a game. I can understand why sony did it

Believe me when I tell you that i don't stand this scene either, didn't even watch it, just read about it was already too much.

Does that mean it should be censored tho, not sure about that. Maybe i'm less selfish than others are, IDK 🤔

I accept it. I just think it's hypocritical.

Violence is fine, as long as it's our violence.

It makes no difference to me either way, but it's funny to watch people defend this.

It really brings out the boot lickers.

You know that's not the reason they defend it.

They defend it because papa Sony say they should.

What’s funny about this, people keep saying Nintendo makes system for kiddies and yet Sony doesn’t trust their so called “adult” audience with mature content.

Dead Premonition 2 is very very dark, so as much the game runs like shit, is very adult and gore.

Kudos to Nintendo. Now is Sony turn to change the blood color to green.

They are not??

Well that's a way to fuck up my immersion...game is ruined for me now.

Imagine defending this choice because the scene is too strong...

You know, this reminds me Genshin Impact x Sims case for some reason.

I saw people defending the China censorship over Genshin Impact because they want the sexual appeal of the game to be reduce.
The same folks that agree with Genshin Impact censorship are now whinning because Russia forbidden Sims 4 gay marrige DLC calling 'censorship'.

Is funny how things turn out.

Except Sony is not the publisher of the game, so they shouldn't care if the game gets banned. It is simply not their responsibility.

People saying that they understand Sony's decision, it is ok to think that. But you still shouldn't accept this breach of artistic freedom. It is another shitty move by Sony, especially because they seem to play favorites when choosing which games to censor or not.

I think you’re missing the point. That’s like saying you enjoy porn. Yeah, put it in context.
That scene is not more violent than many gorey games on the market and it is an horror game that people buy because they enjoy gorey scenes, is it enough as a context?

If you buy that game to a child or a person who doesn't enjoy gore then sure, but who the fuck does that?!

This will be my last response in the thread, but the point I’m making is that the scene itself appears to involve a child. To me, that’s not okay. Yes, bad things happen to children, but I wouldn’t want to be a fly on the wall. It has nothing to do with who has access to the game itself.

I just think that the scene is not as disturbing or violent or gorey as many other videogames out there that are ok for sony.

It's a leatherface rip off using a cadaver, not even an alive screaming woman, i don't see how that is less disturbing than doijg this to actual living people

And this is not even the worst when it comes to gore details in that game.

Considering the fact that TLoU2 exists, it's not because Sony forbids horror or sexual content. I think this is a problem of Sony's process for validating adult rated games being more complicated and taking a longer time.

Still, the fact that the developer came up with this announcement probably means they're at their wits' end with this subject, and that's a massive fail on Sony's side IMO.

This is really poor if this is enforced by Sony. No game (Being creative art) should be censored, and sorry, but people supporting censorship (in any form) here are hypocrites, lots of games last generation are full of violence and killing, lots have different forms of mutilation, and this is okay, but they defend censorship if the censor is the company that made their favourite plastic box. People that don’t support this type of games will simply vote with their wallets.

I bet if they justcremove the qte elements from that scene and make it a normal cutscene, it would be alright.

Hope that game bombs then.

You hope a horror game bombs because it "might" have a scene that is gross and horrible? One you literally have no idea if it actually exists or not?

Do you do any actual research before you jump to conclusions? Or is any random person on the internet enough for you to suddenly believe something is "True"?

Look at our little danjin doing a bit of console war on his own:messenger_winking_tongue:
Well it’s almost funny how the two have flipped ideologies. Howard Lincoln told congress that Night Trap would never release on a Nintendo system, but it’s now on the Switch while I’m just waiting for the day the PS4 version gets delisted based on these current policies.

Dude have you read my posts? all of this is hilarious to me, no need for an explanation.

I was just fucking with danjin a bit :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Sony can release a gore fest like TLOU II but censors other developers games.
Your response sums up the entire thread. Sony is being hypocritical and it will affect them so much. Players will likely choose Xbox and developers won’t want to work with Sony when they see sales are also affected.

Sony seriously needs to move the Playstation HQ back to Japan and fire all the american heads. Christ this is getting ridiculous.

We also have morons trying to assert its perfectly OK and a good thing that SP games are being made always online when there is literally never a reason to do so.

The "fucking stupid" level is reaching an all time high with these console warriors. The Reeeeeee-types on sites like Twitter were always slow and clearly deranged, so I am not surprised that they are defending it.

Night trap is available on the PSN store? I’m in Europe and never saw it.

Censorship is a bad thing no matter what IMHO. There's rating and you can not play it if you think is not for you, but I'm always against censorship.
