What are some of your weirdest dreams?

My dreams often have surreal or fantastical elements. Places morph to other places in real time, the color palette is colorful and random, things can change from a color to another color at any time. People can instantaneously teleport to places, etc.

The additionally weird thing is I sometimes realize I'm in a dream. (An ex girlfriend told me at one point that there's a name for that phenomenon, but I forgot it ). So when real life me realizes that then I, in the dream, just start doing whatever I want because there are no consequences.
For me, my dreams I remember are almost always just real life kinds of dreams with no weird colours, sci-fi or anything like that. Some people may get monsters in their dreams or whatever. I almost never get that.

The weirdest it gets in terms of looks is something like I'm flying and my stomach drops like I'm on a roller coaster. People often disappear in my dreams, where by the end of it I'm the only guy left. And it's exactly like the movies where someone is in a dream state, they see someone, they walk into a room and that person they saw isn't there anymore.

Your second part is called lucid dreams. I get that myself. Many people do. Dont really know how often, but a decent enough amount I know I get them. But definitely not the majority of my dreams. Its a small portion of my dreams.

The creepy dreams I get combine the two. I know I'm in a dream and people are disappearing. There's time I realize this and even say to myself in my own dream "looks like nobody is around" as I walk around in my dream knowing it's going to end at any moment. At this point, I realize the dream is pointless with nobody around and I'm going to wake up any second.

I had a dream last night that my sister put hot pepperoni slices all over my cat, and scabbed her up pretty bad. I was livid and shook her for a good 5 minutes before waking up. I'm not sure what my subconscious mind is trying to pull here - I love my sister, and we get along well.

I can’t really remember exactly what the dreams were specifically about but I was in the hospital once on heavy doses of morphine and with sepsis where I nearly died and I literally didn’t know when I was awake or asleep for about three days.

Holy shit, that dream video actually did something. I have a really vivid memory of the final dream I had last night.

It started out that I was watching a revival of That 70's Show. Then, I was looking to audition either for the show or something else. During this part of the dream there were several intercuts of locations cues or static cards in the show, but these did not match what was actually used in the original show.

The dream transitioned to a new part, where I was at the studio for the production, it was a hybrid studio and functioning town in a rural area, with dirt roads. I was now looking for the place where I needed to audition. I spoke to Debra Jo Rupp, she gave me directions inside the studio/town. She seemed to think that I was already part of the production, and seemed confused that I didn't know where I was going, and either surprised or disbelieving that I hadn't already been there.

I began to drive around and look for the audition location, and had to be extra cautious because some of the dirt roads had grass on them like a lawn, and I did not want to dig ruts in them with the tires of the car.

I began to near the audition location, and it started to transition in that hazy way that aspects of dreams do, from a revival of That 70's Show to a new version of Spider-Man. The new Spider-Man was either a big budget movie or video game or both, in that indistinct dreamy way. However, it was still being made at the hybrid town/movie studio.

Once I found where I needed to audition, I had trouble finding a parking spot. The security guards were unhelpful in telling me whether parking along the streets was private (for people living and working in the town) or official (related to the productions for the studio aspect.) This was in spite of the fact that the security guards were the ones who enforced the parking rules.

I ended up parking in a parking space that seemed like it was part of a trans woman's driveway, but I couldn't be sure. I was uncomfortable parking there because apparently I had had some kind of disagreement with this woman. She irritatedly peeked out of her blinds at me as I left my car. In the dream this issue was left unresolved. This woman also seemed to have some kind of friction with the cast of That 70's Show, but this was nebulous in the context of the dream and not explored.

At this point, the nature of the audition had completely transitioned into a meeting about the Spider-Man productions. I was there to present ideas about a new version of Venom. This version of Venom was smaller than others, not as muscular, didn't have a long tongue (or at least he didn't stick it out.) It had a slightly elongated dog or wolf like face. It had many small silvery fangs. It had an aspect to its mouth that opening it started out as a small slit, but this quickly changed to a wide opening that extended much too far back on its head. This version of Venom was meant to be scarier than past iterations. Instead of white markings, it had orange, shiny, metally looking veins. These veins would shoot out in segments over the host's body, and then the black slime substance that Venom is made of would flow to fill in the areas between the veins. When the slime had filled in the area, new and longer veins would shoot out, and so the host would be covered by Venom faster and faster over the course of the transformation.

This version of Venom was able to continually grow by consuming people, and eventually could separate off segments of its self and continue to control them as long as they remained in close proximity to it. These segments did not seem to be able to take on a humanoid form separate from the main symbiote, so the would hide in shadows and surprise victims.

Details of the new Spider-Man were not greatly discussed, but he did not seem to joke or quip in the way that Spider-Man normally does. I watched a long battle with the producers between Spider-Man and Venom. While this version of venom, as stated, tended to be smaller than others, it could increase its size/volume, and dis over the course of the fight show a large muscular presentation. It eventually grew in height to about 10 or 12 fee tall, began to form its limbs into large angular clubs, and its offshoot that it dispensed to fight Spider-Man was able to form a large poof of bituminous ichor.

After a long battle, another Spider-Man from another universe came to help this Spider-Man. With assistance, the primary Spider-Man was able to focus on manipulating a gadget on his suit, a white looking light from the spider emblem on his chest. He was able first to stun Venom, then fine tune the frequencies in the light and the intensity of the light and subdue it. Both Spider-Men took samples of Venom.

After the end of the presentation, I discussed with the producers that the clubs Venom made were a bit generic. I suggested that instead, it should be able to manipulate its claws, and extend, expand and fuse them to make chitinous blades and sword like extensions.

And that was the end of the dream.

DragoonKain

Neighbours from Hell
I’m a very lucid dreamer. I’ve been able to control my dreams, which I’ve heard is rare. I heard a sleep expert on a podcast say one time that less than 5% of people can do it. I wasn’t able to do it until I was in my late teens.

I had the same recurring nightmare a dozen times a year. Jason Vorhees would break into my house. I’d see him, run upstairs climb out the window and jump back down to the ground level outside and then run down the street for help. Every time I got to the end of the street my legs would stop moving and I wouldn’t be able to escape. And I’d literally try to grab the concrete on the sidewalk and pull myself to safety and eventually Jason would catch me and I’d wake up.

One time the same dream happened, but as I’m running down the street I was like wait a second I remember this. I’ve been here before. This is a dream. And I said fuck this, he can’t hurt me, I’m dreaming. So I turned around and walked toward Jason and I ripped the machete out of his hand and hacked him to death with it. Ever since then I’ve been able to control my dreams. I have dreams where I’m stuck in some awful situation and I’m like this is definitely a dream I can easily teleport myself out of here. I close my eyes and when I open them again I’m in a completely different place away from the danger. I’ve also had dreams where I can force myself to fly places to either escape danger or for fun.

I’m not in total control of my dreams though, as I can only do this when I’m im danger. I don’t control what it is I actually dream about. Like I can just have dream where I go on a vacation and hang out and there’s no need to take control of it I guess because my mind doesn’t feel I have to.

Like others have mentioned I did have a recurring dream for years that I was back in high school and didn’t graduate and was like fuck I need to finally graduate and pass these tests again. And those dreams end the same way. Midway through my first day at school I’m like fuck this I don’t need school I'm way too old for this. And I leave and go home.

My favorite dreams are heist dreams. I had one the other day that we were driving from location to location stealing stuff, and the cops were chasing us, and we had to split up and leave town and go into hiding. I shacked up at some small motel on the run, it was a lot of fun.

The scariest dream I ever had was like a thriller movie. I started to notice these little subliminal messages in newspapers and I pieced them together and it gave a location of a place. It was in the UK off the coast. I took a flight to Britain and I made it there and there was this abandoned lighthouse by the coast. Inside was dark and dingy and this was at night with a full moon outside and there was this cult all in black robes and there was this woman who sounded like Meryl Streep chanting these words over and over. There were desks and everyone had this book on front of them to chant along with her. It started to get really good and scary and something awakened me out of that dream and I never got a chance to finish it.

I dreamed this at least a few decades ago, but it still sticks with me. I was in a huge open room like a warehouse. The room was very dark except for the center of the room where there was a circle of beds or cots standing at an angle kind of like the inside of this fair ride.

The area where we were was not enclosed though, and the beds were spread out more than this and there were fewer of them. Maybe a dozen total. My hands and feet were clamped down to the bed and I couldn't move except to try to lunge my body or twist my head around. All of the other beds were taken up by other people, all adults, and a mixture of men and women. We were all naked.

Just outside of the circle there was a man who seemed very clinical, as if this was a medical procedure, and he took notes and directed what would happen. In the center of the circle was another bed, similar to what we were laying in, except it was able to move around at any angle, with a mechanism attached to the ground. This bed had a woman who was tied down by her wrists, like we were, but her feet were free. She wore something like a hospital gown. The doctor was giving her orders to sexually abuse us who were around the circle. I think I was the third one she moved to and when she started crushing my nuts with her feet I woke up.

Is 'That Pure Potato'
This was one I had the other night. Let's see how much I can remember.

I was with people who were supposed to be my family even though I had never seen them before. However, in the way of dreams, I understood them to be my immediate family. We were visiting some other family of people, a man and a woman and their daughter. We were on some kind of very large house boat. I remember that in order to make water come out of the faucets I had to turn a lever right, then left, because as the woman we were visiting explained it "we need to pull the water from Alaska to this hemisphere".

At some point in this dream I became aware that this house boat had departed its location in Alaska to sail to Seattle, Washington. We exited the kind of living room area we were in and entered a larger ballroom-type section. It was filled with dozens of people, all dressed up as if it were some kind of gala. People were discussing the migration to Seattle, everyone was excited. My view of the dream during this time switched between me in first person mingling with the guests and drinking champagne, and an overhead view of the house boat thing as if it were sliding along the surface of an old-timey map. A lot more happened during this portion of the dream but I can't remember the details.

When it came time to disembark the dream suddenly shifted. I was now standing up in the rear of an automobile that very much resembled a boat. The family's daughter was sitting in front of me, her and I on a section of this boatmobile that was open to the air while everyone else was seated in an enclosed cabin. We were flying down an interstate, I could feel the cold wind on my face, it felt very vivid and real. Alongside the interstate were homes, cheap old ones that reminded me of the kind of neighborhood I grew up in when I was very young.

As we were driving I began having a discussion with the daughter about how I wouldn't mind moving to Seattle - that now that it was possible to work from home for most jobs I could relocate anywhere.

A dog began running ahead of the boatmobile we were in, moving erratically. I was concerned we might run it over. The odd manner in which it was moving caught my eye, and within the dream I actually began to wonder whether or not I was dreaming. I began thinking things like "what kind of interstate has houses right up to the edge of it?". Thing is, it was all so vivid I couldn't convince myself it was a dream. Music began playing loudly from some undefined location. I cannot remember the exact cadence or lyrics of the song, but it reminded me of the kind of song that plays before a sitcom. Everyone was grooving to it. The daughter spun in her seat to face me and said something along the lines of "Little horn is the chaperone of musicians. He's with us now, he's always with me.".

Again, more happened here but I am drawing a blank. I just remember how the dream ultimately ended, which is when I began to wake up: at some point the drive we were on ended and I found myself alone looking up at a great big old stone house that had architecture reminiscent of older structures in Inverness, Scotland I've seen on the web. It was in the middle of a field that was itself surrounded by a dense, dark forest.

Usually in dreams when the locale suddenly changes your mind just goes with it, accepts it. But it struck me that I was suddenly in a different, impossibly far away location. No road in sight, no family, no boat car. I then saw the dog again, the one that was earlier running ahead of us. I realized I was dreaming at that point. Everything around me began to melt, for lack of a better word, except for the big stone house. I ran for the house, flung open the front door, jumped inside, and slammed the door behind me, thinking about how I wasn't ready to wake up yet. The door began to rumble and vibrate. I turned around and just remember wooden floors, a fireplace with green flames, and a man in a shimmering silver suit sitting in a luxurious old Victorian style cushioned chair, legs crossed, hands resting on his knee. He spread his hands, said "I haven't seen you since you were tiny", snapped his fingers, and I woke up.
