AMD Ryzen 7000: 5 nm desktop CPUs coming September 27th

The official stream is just 2 hours away, but the slides have already been leaked by HD Tecnologia. This is the confirmation on Ryzen 7000 specs and pricing.

According to the slides, the flagship Zen4 desktop CPU with 16 cores and 32-threads will boost up to 5.7 GHz, and it will cost 699 USD. Meanwhile, Ryzen 9 7900X with 12 cores and 24 threads and boost up to 5.6 GHz will retail at 549 USD.

5 nm ? what is the benefit? Do they run cooler ?

I might give in the hype is there is an iGPU and run it on butt-naked board

on LN2? surely.
With an AiO? I doubt it.
Custom Watercooling on the high end side?
Maybe 6.0 / 6.1 can be achieved. But those are already very highly clocked cpus.
They run borderline to get those specs, iam sure.
So all core 6.0ghz is out of the question imo for consumer solutions.

A slightly higher clock speed might have been desirable for the 7700X. I really don't care for average fps gains, with a decent GPU the CPU gets negible from 1440p on. I'm more curious about the minimum fps. This is where X3D was very strong and I hope the 7000 series joins it. The 13900K should be somewhat more powerful. However, Intel won't come close to this effiency levels and with current energy prices in Europe Intel isn't an option.

I'm hoping the non-X CPUs aren't too far off. I feel burned getting an X CPU last time when there was no other options...

Fuck this means AM5 and DDR5?

EDIT: That 170W TDP worries me.. My AIO is stretched thin on my 5950x as is..

This is a cpu benchmark, you don't want to be limited by the gpu, hence the lower resolution
Yes, this is correct but this is not a fair benchmark either.

the highest number they were able to get at full HD is a 35% uplift. this is a joke. because when this goes to 4k, we are down to 20% uplift if we are lucky. this is the highest mind you.

For a generational leap? this is nothing but a joke. honestly, the 5800x3d is probably as fast or close to in gaming benchmark as this so-called high-end processor.

seriously what a joke. not impressed one bit. they just wanted to go DDR5 with new motherboards and CPU.

they barely can beat the 12900k. when the 13900k is here, this will get destroyed. cleaned the floor with by Intel. which is sad really.

What? Barely beating the 12900k? You know they are comparing it to the 7600x, the cheapest and slowest of their new cpus

I wonder how long before people start saying the current gen consoles have crappy CPUs.
That's already been going on for a while.

I don't know if I'll be upgrading my 9900k yet but it's getting mighty tempting.

I saw this and was happy with my choice to get the 5800X3D and hang onto AM4 for another 3+ years. If you're still on legacy AM4, it's a drop in upgrade and it's basically the same as 12900K in games and won't need to buy expensive DDR5 and a new motherboard.

Of course the Zen 4 3D versions next year will probably fucking amazing if this is what the 2D chips are already capable of. If I was looking to buy into AM5, I would definitely be waiting for the 3D versions of Zen 4.

Did they commit to any kind of forward compatibility for AM5?
Disappointingly nothing concrete as far as I can recall from the presentation. Just wishy washy marketing words about longevity or something along those lines, unless I missed it. Hopefully more when the AM5 motherboards and/or Raptor Lake are near.

Doh, I missed it entirely.

Looks great!

I was able to go from a 2600 to a 5600X on the exact same motherboard, which was fantastic! You folks getting a 7000 series on AM5 will hopefully get the same longevity out of your boards.
