Digital Foundry don't know shit about this and they also didn't say anything about Deathloop.
I can tell you in detail all that's wrong with Deathloop's controls and half of the terms I'd use you would never even have heard most likely.
all you and people like you counter to detailed analysis is usually "BuT I tHInK it'S GrEAT!¡!" with zero further arguments.
so shall we do that dance? fine.
this right here is about what Deathloop's reaction curve looks like compared to what CoD and other good shooters use as the default in the middle and a linear one on the right.
there's no options to change the one on the left to anything else.
The inner deadzone is decently small, but the sensitivity curve is ridiculous, the speed of your camera has massive jumps in speed, while the outer deadzone is ridiculously big
if you don't immediately see the issue here you're out of your mind.
but let's go on.
Another really bad thing,Lets say you turn full speed to the right ok? now you move the stick slightly diagonally down
if you do that, you camera turn speed will just drop dramatically out of nowhere.
this is because the aim acceleration is directionally applied and not universally.
Aim Acceleration is terrible no matter how it's implemented, but this implementation here is about as bad as it gets.
on top of that the game has an axial deadzone, which means directional changes during aiming will not be registered unless you cross a certain threshold. which further makes smooth aiming impossible
again, I don't expect anything from you or anyone else in here that goes beyond "BuT i HaD nO issUES! huRRrr!¡!", because that's usually how people react if they're out of their element andnjust want to defend the game they like.
