Of the 2 old gen systems, the PS4 is the more powerful of the two. I don't think this will hinder anything at all considering it's just a remake and most likely won't be pushing any system to it's limits.

My theory is that nobody wants to make a game that might not run on a Switch 2. That is why we are seeing cross gen games in 2023 and even 2024, and why we will probably see them still in 2025 and beyond.

So it was initially current gen only? Then 7 months before release it's coming to PS4? Seems like a last minute change if you ask me, don't be surprised if it runs like treacle on PS4.

Capcom had such a phenomenal second half of last gen. I was really hoping that the publisher had turned itself around for good, but they are being lazy, and risk averse like they were last gen. Making RE8 cross gen I can understand. RE4? Now thats just greedy on the part of the publisher and lazy on the part of devs. The sheer lack of effort thats plaguing this industry is worse than any of the woke agenda or microtransaction GaaS trend we all rail against. Releasing cross gen games literally half way through the new generation should be considered fraudulent. People paid out of their ass to buy these new consoles amid a freaking pandemic and they are being rewarded for it by games they couldve played on their 9 year old machines.
The fact that Tekken is next gen only while Capcom wasted god knows how many years making a useless last gen open world for a fighting game instead of spending that time upgrading to next gen fidelity is just proof that PS3 era Capcom is back. What a shame.

Guys the game will probably be running at 60fps on next gen, at dynamic 4k, or something like 1620p+. The current gen machines struggle running some last gen games at dynamic 4k/60 anyway.
This isnt really going to be a problem.
Honestly people need to get out of this idea that games are suddenly going to look like AVATAR when cross gen ends, because they wont.

Not really surprising since the RE4 remake reveal kinda just looked like RE8 Village with different models and environments etc. There's probably no reason why it cannot (ie at all) run on PS4.
