Sorry to ask something you've already probably answered before, but what GPU and CPU you rocking man? Trying to get an idea of whether my RTX 2080 and i7 9700k will handle it decently. Ray tracing is nice but I don't at all need it, and I'd turn the hair strand effect off as I don't even like it. I wouldn't be buying the game yet, but when money stuff improves just trying to figure out how I'd handle it since the PC port seems good.

Have stable 60fps at 1440p with RT and settings between High and Max when I played the demo.
So you'll only fare about 20% worse than me, in case my settings taxed my pc to its limit (which I don't think it was)

No. None of the recent re games do. Probably a deal issue with amd, because monster hunter has dlss. I've heard that modders made dlss mods for those RE games, though.
That said, they have fx fidelity mode.

For example i thought the RE4 remake demo was definetly scary and tense, the dreaded atmosphere, music, overwhelming enemies,makes it enjoyable for horror fans.
The original of course will be more cheesy and with crude graphics,but it still has some spooky elements,its a great game regardless
Don't believe there is a definite yes or no answer, It depends what you find scary, RE4 is action horror..

Right on man, thanks for the info. I'll have to pick it up at some point, I liked the demo so much more than I thought I would. I was really of the opinion that the original was unsurpassable, but I gotta admit I loved that demo, so I need to check out the whole thing at some point. It'll be a while for financial reasons right now, so hopefully whatever issues are there on launch are addressed by the time I can buy it without my wife braining me with a shovel for spending the money.

For those who have gotten this early, no spoilers or anything, but did they greatly improve the island section at all?
The RE teams clearly specialize in more residential settings (RE4 showed this with the village/castle being better than the island too).
If the castles are up the quality/level design of Castle D? I'd replace fish mans section and the lame factory with half robot monsters with that in an instant. I would also rather have had more Baker estate than ship/mines in RE7.

According to a bunch of articles preload doesn’t start until tomorrow for PS5. On PSN it said it was the 3/21. They’re saying preload on PC is going to be later than that. I’m hoping the preload starts before Friday.

I played the demo on Series X and didn't notice the deadzone. I'm gonna choose that version because it looked better than PS5.

Resolution mode , ray tracing on , hair off
IQ is better on xbox, ps5 is noticeably softer but it is not big of a difference for me
My tv supports vrr both played smooth but series x has more stutters
But series x is noticeably laggier aiming and moving weapon takes so much time
Ps5 is much better in that regard
On xbox it is like playing with game mode off
It is harder to play on xbox no doubt
I hope a day one patch to solve these issues

Left the console running over night. I had the Treasure map finish preloading and the main game. I was able to get the mini OST to download, but a PS4 version of it? I have a hunch that the rest of the DLC will preload closer to/if not the day of release.

From what I've been hearing, the game really needs another patch to fix some performance issues. Dunno if there will be a Day 1 patch or not.

I'm talking to Walmart Customer Service now. Back in November, Walmart actually had the game for $32.99 and I jumped on it ASAP. Nearly EVERY person's order got cancelled but they couldn't cancel my order. Seeing if I can pull some strings here...WALMART IS BREAKING STREET DATE.

there was supposed to be a pre order code but walmart didn't give me anything lol

Can't stomach spending $70 for a botched image quality on ps5. Yes, if your someone who doesn't mind it'll be well worth it. I for one am very disappointed. Out of all the games to mess up it had to be RE4 remake didn't it. The deadzone on Xbox is even more "unacceptable". How did they not play test and realize how bad the aiming feels?
I have plenty of other stuff to play so it's not the end of the world just very unfortunate.

As of now it seems they've caught on. And you can probably blame Reddit for ruining it.
Even if their site shows they have X number of copies, orders placed now will be marked as "unavailable" - giving the option to ship.
