Starfield New Trailer Revealed + Starfield Direct | Xbox Showcase 2023

Felt the first showing was more groundbreaking and hype. This felt like a rehash. Still in. Gunplay looks slightly better, and there seems to be hope on pc for fps being above 30.

So does premium edition mean Sept 1st to play ?

There's no way any games on my play list in that range of early September doesn't get dumped. I'll hold off BG III just to be sure to concentrate 100% on it later.

no. i didn't.

you can look back at where my post come from (the context )
That is what preorders are for. Give them some benefits. Otherwise no need to preorder it.
5 days early sweetens those preorders sales. If it was same as day1 gamepass, people wont buy them that much.

Question: Phil said that we will hear definitively about Starfield FPS and the device its footage was captured on. Did they share any info on whether the footage was captured on PC or XSX and what the frame rate options will be?
I was asking this on a few streams and a discord channel .... I believe i only saw it say "in game footage" and that was it.... Was it in game on a 4090 with 32GB of Ram or on Series X...and god help the Series S version

It looks amazing. I hope it lives up to the hype. That presentation alone is almost making me consider upgrading my PC just to play it.

Kind of annoyed at there being no intelligent alien species to interact with. I was hoping they'd go full Mass Effect. This is all humans with hints of aliens like The Outer Worlds.

:/
I wouldn't be so sure. They hinted at space magic at the end so I'm sure they are holding back other details.

Exactly. More importantly, what's the FPS going to be like on XSX and XSS?

Phil said we will hear about it, and we didn't. I'm expecting at least a tweet about it. But I think if they are not talking about it and hiding it, then it's not good news.

This looked absolutely amazing.

After FF16 this is definitely my most anticipated game of the year.

Cannot wait to get stuck into it.

Just 31,50€ for me. What a steal

Cautiously optimistic.

Best showing of the game so far but I hope it's not just cool aid with empty planets and filler.

And performance hopefully won't be a concern on PC.

Cutscene landing and designated landing areas. Definitely not a next gen experience there with that decision but something they made to make the playable spaces interesting. It'll be interesting to see how big those landing areas are and what the boundaries are.

Can someone please tell me if at the end he had a power to levitate enemies? I looked away but I so want something like that
Looked that way.

It was an excellent way of ending it - hinting at something they haven’t explained.

I also likes the freeze effect they showed off. Pistol and SMG gameplay looks much improved. Melee looked a bit naff but perhaps better in 3rd person.

It looks janky, but if this isn't the most complicated game to build I don't what is. The amount of stuff they show-ed blew my mind.

Did they show anything other than the trailer? This could crack my top 3 for the year. R4make, HROT, Starfield. Pretty damn good year perhaps.

Looks good but something is a little off. Todd said it himself at the start - When you land, you search that area around it. You don't get to land anywhere on a planet it seems. There are distinct areas per planet which move the story forward presumably. It's still got potential as it looks as though it's Elite with narrative elements.

Freeze was cool. I'll definitely like that. But I wish they would have delved into "powers" or other skills like that. I love vats and slowmo in skyrim. Now I just have to wonder lol

I think we need to temper our expectations.

I suspect there are various different games within Starfield. There will be a number of significant single player campaigns that drive you across the principle planets. This will be 80 or so hours of content (for the sake of argument). You then have basebuilding and weapon crafting, that will likely drive the smaller planet stuff. There will be PvE content here, but it will be reasonably generic and event based. So I fully expect there to be some emptiness at hand.

Thirdly, there’s the space combat and ship building.

It’s a playground.

Its seem like the area(space) between jump pretty small too . No free flight , just small box around each location(planet) and then select location on planet to land .

Can choose any location on planets to land, or designated locations. (They set a landing spot but then went to the city instead in the video)

Unless am misunderstanding what you’re meaning?

that is not the point

publishers that do this set the early access period BEFORE the game launches in stores, so it's earlier than the release date. Day 0 or Day negative, if you will.
Day 1 access still comes to GamePass. You'd be getting it on the same day it releases in stores. If you had an Xbox or GamePass.

We've had this unnecessarily pedantic discussion multiple times already. Feels like a needless derail at this point.

clam down chief. the original conversation was not even with you.

my point stands tho. This is a way of circumvent the Day One on Game Pass or/and publishers to extract more money form the FOMO victims.

This strategy preceded GamePass so...

It's a clear and obvious way to boost preorders and capture more 'premium' purchases of more pricey SKUs.

Also a way to pad up premium editions to make them more attractive.

Well, it doesn't happen often but the showcase exceeded my expectations. Can't wait.
