Does this mean Blade is Xbox console exclusive?

Personally I dont think its a big deal. Nobody cared about Gotham Knights. No one cares about Suicide Squad, Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy. All that matters is if the game is ultimately good. All the IP does is very, very faintly increase visibility for the most casual gamers.
Don’t forget Midnight Suns, which had Blade and Wolverine on top of tons of other heroes and still flopped so bad Solomon had to quit.

Marvel license isn’t a blank check those days.

Why is everyone obsessed with exclusivity?

All Xbox games come to PC so exclusivity doesn’t exist for them anymore..

Microsoft can still say if the game will be exclusive to Xbox platforms or not. One would think it would be and typically MS has had no problem saying so in the past. I think the only theory about this that holds up is MS doesn't want to give the FTC any more ammunition.
It seems like it would be safe to assume that it would be exclusive considering who is developing it. I just don't know what difference actually saying the words makes.

Because it shouldn’t take this long to announce this and the way they are keeping it ambigous is childish.

They made the story abt platforms when it coulda just been how exciting it is to have Arkane work on this
They don’t really need to do they? It’s a MS first party studio, of course it’s exclusive. As for not announcing platforms, they may just not want to commit to that just now. Particularly the Series S. Maybe it will be only series x or maybe it will be next gen. Who knows right now?

Imagine if this became an industry standard. This would cause mass pandemonium online.

Nobody should be okay with this business practice
Mass pandemonium is maybe a bit dramatic. Worst case the platform warriors have less time to fight about it.

This isn't like EA or Ubisoft. Bethesda is a Microsoft company. It's safe to assume it will be on Xbox and PC. The only question is whether it lands on PlayStation.

I hope exclusives have been consigned to history by the time this comes out, but it is amusing (not sure if intentional or not) that keeping it secret is throwing the haters through a loop.

You can be sure if it was announced as exclusive the negativity towards it would be much higher. Now they aren’t sure whether to bash it or not…

If it was locked in as an exclusive they would have come out and said it to shut everyone up by now. It's either:

A. MS can't guarantee it is an exclusive title yet due to licensing negotiations.

B. MS have the control over platforms themselves but haven't decided whether to make it exclusive or not yet.

C. The game is multiplatform.
Hard disagree. The developer is first party, not an independent. They won't use a first party dev house to make a multiplatform game. Makes zero sense.

You mean like Call of Duty and MLB (on Sony's side)?MLB wasnt Sony so much. Sony has to let the IP go multiplatform or they would lose the license all together.

Call of duty was always going to be on PlayStation. Just the name over the door would change.

MLB would take the license from Sony all together if they didn't go multiplatform. Sony didn't want that but they had no choice. Totally different scenarios.

Still a first party making multi platform game. Which you said wont happen

Is it though, Arkane/MS are licensing from Marvel, Marvel 'could' specify in the agreement that it must be multi platform, which is the exact same thing.

I’m not exaggerating. Do y’all not remember the 360/PS3 days?

Yes but it's not their IP. They're renting it.

Theyre not allowed to do that. They committed to every game releasing on both consoles. I guess they could but they'd piss off a lot of people
Which is why they aren’t saying anything. This game isn’t until 2027 probably. They will keep getting issues like with BG3 where devs bitch about the S. Eventually they are going to have to let them skip it or lose games to PlayStation. And in that case they let the other companies be the bad guy and establish the precedent. Then in 2027 when this has already been the case for a while they can release it on just the X and they never promised it would be on the S.

I hear ya. But I think they have an external mandate as well. That will be interesting to see. I'm personally hoping it does because we're going to have some FUN

I'm not really following why Marvel would care about the game being multiplatform. The alternative to MS getting the liscense is that no Blade game is made. It's not like MLB the Show where there's obviously a demand for a baseball game. There's no obvious demand for a Blade game. Having a relatively prestigious studio like Arkane make it suddenly does increase the demand.

In summary: it's exclusive, but MS probably won't say for what platform because it may not even come out this gen if they just started development. who knows.
