Funny thing is they'll think that you're obsessed with them for posting this.

Ridicule is not the same as envy

Fuck these retards. The only winning move is not to play.

Probably some, some others don't know you can increase the parry/dodge window, saw the dev mention not having game mode on tvs could create more input lag, and some people not knowing certain attacks are unblockable.

Some stuff could be tutorialized better, but the people saying the combat is trash are high.

I didn't even know about the option to increase the windows. I just improved my timings and learned what to look for. There were definitely times I know I pushed the button correctly but EVE didn't do anything and just took the hit. But for the most part, by the time I got to the boss at the end, I wrecked it in one attempt.

The mentalities I had to break myself out of were the constant desire to keep my distance or to frequently press the attack. I changed it to getting in the enemy's face and basically dare them to hit me. Only during the ranged attacks of the boss would I run around the area. For the most part, it was me being chest to chest with them, like two kids beefing in a high school. "Come on! Throw hands, pussy"! The only time I would go ham were on small enemies that don't last long when you rush them.

Getting Blink to completely avoid fatal attacks and tear into the enemy from behind was a big shift in the flow of combat for me. Especially considering how easy it is to use. That window is stupid large considering how tight the timings are to perfect dodge or perfect parry standard attacks. Once the combat clicks, it's super satisfying.

WTF?!
How are you all beating the BOSS CHALLENGE section

I seem to get so close, then die.
I THINK I’m parrying well… THINK I’m dodging well… I toss pulse bombs, do the blink dodge and hit him from the back….

Why do I suck!!?!

I beat the demo boss third try yet still feel like I suck ass at this game. It reminds me of Nioh where you have to really engage with every element just to not fumble like a drooling idiot even against grunts.

One thing that REALLY throws me off and I dislike more and more is the fact you can't sprint right away and do a dodge first. It feels so awkward and stiff. Also have a hard time with not being able to cancel combos into jumps and jump attacks in general just not registering? Or working at certain times? The jump and dodges overall just feels wonky to me still.

I'm still very positive on it but I'm having a bitch of a time gitting particularly gud and I'm a fan of tough Action games.

Idk I gave up on it lol. I really like the combat system but I'm getting the feeling this kind of game has risen above my old ass head. The massive enemy combos that have to be dodged or parried perfectly in a row are something I can't keep track of no matter how many times I've tried. Feels like ALL the difficult combat systems of the past decade or so at once 😭

I have to wonder to what extent of people complaining about input lag and combat issues, just suck at the game.
I can perfect parry almost every time, but perfect dodging seems especially difficult. It certainly isn't "input lag", as the parry timing is spot on. I think it's just a matter of getting used to the timing. By the time I beat the boss, I was able to perfect dodge almost every regular attack. I failed a lot once it turned electric. I beat the boss after two tries, so I am not sure what the difference was there.

So, yeah, mark me down for "they just suck" or more accurately, they aren't giving it a chance. I mean, even in this thread you have people who are barely even getting through the intro sequence and giving up. The game has garnered a lot of attention, so we are going to get a flood of comments from people who have no real interest in the game just throwing out their opinion.

It's a boss challenge. We go from having two skills and one piece of equipment in the demo section, to a full loadout against a boss despite only having played the game for an hour. It would be like jumping into Sekiro and immediately attempting the Genchiro fight.

I played the demo some today, and I don't think I'm very interested in it. I didn't find the controls very responsive, and the dodge in particular felt terrible (yes, I think the input lag is a problem). I don't have any idea why "character action" games of today can't feel as good as the original God of War trilogy (even streaming God of War 1 feels better than SB's demo). Also, I didn't find the characters interesting (Eve seems dull as dirt), and I honestly hated the music. And yes, they spent a lot of time modeling her ass, but I don't need to spend 70 dollars to see a nice ass.

Oh well.

The bonus boss with that music playing was so freaking sick. Can't

No when not to attack. Also use your LB attacks.

The game was a lot of fun. The visuals were pretty good and I loved the quiet atmosphere and the ambience of the camps.

I didn't like the music during gameplay though. It was distracting to me but the music gave me Tekken vibes which was nice.

The game gives me a lot of nostalgia vibes. The atmosphere, level design, and combat (at its core) make me feel like I'm playing an Asian action game from the PS2 days. Just with better visuals and camera control. And I'm so here for it.

It took me a few times to get it and I finally beat it. I think knowing the timing of the enemy attacks, using perfect parry and dodging will serve you well.

To be clear, I was able to beat the boss at the end of the demo… which unlocked BOSS CHALLENGE mode… but I was not able to beat the boss in the boss challenge section.
Is the Boss Challenge mode on the same difficulty setting that I played the demo on? Story Mode? Or does Boss Mode perhaps default to Normal Mode?

Played for 30 minutes and saw EVE have like 6 type of combo strings. Why so many? What's the difference of each of them? I doubt I will remember 3 of them

I felt confident that the game would land somewhere in the mid 80s on MC, but after seeing Lies of P barely made it to an 80, despite that game being awesome, maybe I outta lower my expectations. Althought I think whatever score this game gets probably won't matter because it's already won the hearts of so many gamers. I think commercially it's going to do very well.

Played the demo, came away surprised by the combat being solid. Takes some aspects of souls with more of the speed of a character action game.

Not sure if enough people in the demo will find out you can upgrade the timing window for parrying and perfect dodges to be more generous. The blink dodge also has could be presented better, where you wait for your sword to ping blue instead of following the enemy effects, but I got used to it quickly enough. Good attack mechanic variety, and they still have 2 locked progression trees.

Thought worse case scenario it was gonna maybe be a higher budget X-Blades, but instead came away thinking it will probably be a fun 8.5/10 action game. More of these would be nice.

I think there's plenty to work with at the opening of the game. It's fairly unique and after the demo is up (about 45min-hour your first time), I was still ankle-high on the learning curve. There's several options for strings and many of the hits have situational qualities. The dash is nothing at all like the ubiquitous roll. It way better thanks to it's subtleties, but you can't spam it and it takes a bit to get used to. Importantly, it's fun to learn how to use it right.

Movement and spacing is nice and free. You can make space and keep it, sort of disengage and think for a second. I think it's great. I also think God of war was great. Maybe not this good, but great. Some people called it a masher but I had to pay attention. Monster hunter is masterful. I also appreciate the fighting quite a bit in Yakuza, if that helps you calibrate.

see, my problem is that I don't particularly find doing this over'n'over again fun. period. if I wanted to play a rhythm game, I'd play one. but I won't, because I fucking hate rhythm games...

the whole parry thing's become like a virus. I managed to clear bloodborne without using it, & I'll likely be going story mode whenever I get around to playing this...

Finally tried the demo, yeah maybe it's not for me afterall.

I like how heavy and gory the combat feel when you hit stuff, but this feel too much like dmc in term of game structure and too much like sekiro that rely a lot on parry.

Evading feels very bad unless you nail the perfect dodge, lies of p evading never felt so useless, not even in the beginning.

Seems like a great game for pure action/parry lovers, just not for me.

Maybe the game gets better when you improve the dodge but i need some serious feedback on that before preordering, i really don't like parry based games, sekiro was a white fly for me (and parry felt much more tight in that one).

Also i'm just too used to play in 4k, balance model still look pretty bad to me and fidelity is out of the discussion at 30fps.

Tacky korean voice impregnate men on a 25mt radius, she should have been the protagonist.

P.s. i'm gonna try the demo again, maybe i just wasn't in the mood.

I think the gameplay is kinda mid but the visuals and presentation in general is top notch and makes me want to go through it anyway. It’s a spectacular game like we rarely see now.
There is definitely some control jank and there might be some timing issues, it’s a bit mashy and it’s difficult to play it tightly like a souls game. Still enjoyable as a complete package though. Not investing on console but my wallet is open if it’s coming to Steam.

No point in looking over there about this game.

It's only ever going to be a mountain of salt from the Zero Self Esteem Brigade over the game being received well... or a bunch of people with even less self worth and a heavy dose of Stockholm Syndrome posting about the game itself, while tip-toeing around the terminally outraged.

I guarantee you they've all downloaded the demo though.... Same as when they all actually did play Hogwart's Legacy. All performative nonsense.

That site blows, so glad I up and left. That post had absolutely nothing wrong and a 2 month ban. The moderation in that place is garbage.

EDIT: Reading posts in that thread had so many begrudgingly angry over Stellar Blade, same group of people that found Ellie's sex scenes in TLOU2 and Abby's sex scene meaningful. There's no criteria. It's like people are encouraged to hit the warning button whenever there's a post they don't agree with.

I somehow found this out on my 4th demo run last night and felt like Baby Jesus had come down to save me. I thought the only way to run was Hold O after that stutter step dodge 🥹
For me it was the other way around! I wanted to sprint right after dodging and found L3 too cumbersome for this and then figured out I can start sprinting after a dodge by holding down circle.

Oh yeah, as Tommi84 Tommi84 said, time for more attention with the pop ups :messenger_sunglasses: But I can understand that sometimes the focus is somewhere else... or on something else :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Bro they literally tell you how to run at beginning of the demo. How can you missed that 3 times lol

Time for those correction glasses ;). The game literraly tells you how to sprint during the first 2min of the game (when you start running up the hill to fight with the red-balls in hands monster

Well, now you guys finally know why game devs design for the lowest common denominator and it still ain't dumb enough lol.

Please bully me daddiez, I deserve it!

I wasnt expecting to not like this game...I love bayoneta, revengeance, nier, DMC...but this didnt click with me.
I dont know why but the block and parry really bothered me. The enemy animations or the moves. Also you can tell the expertise of From Software and Platinum games...cause the enemies are too small sometimes here, or dont pop against the backgrounds, making it more difficult to read.

I dont know, its a wait for me.

Dude I spoke with that guy in a DM telling him to be careful, because a bunch REEE users started antagonizing him for this post, despite half a dozen people agreeing with him. He genuinely meant everything he said and wanted to back off because he didn't want to get banned. Then he gets banned anyway. For what? For fucking what!?

Terrible fucking place. I hope it burns to the ground someday.

This is very pathetic and part of the problem, actually.
