Xbox CEO admits she had multiple people playing on her account that was started last month.

I really wish we could go back to the more corporate days of gaming, where you knew who the CEO was, and you saw him and a few other people on stage during E3 etc, and that was it, and it was back to business. Instead of all these hacks trying to be cool or funny, acting like they are your fucking buddy on social media.

edit: spelling mistake

"admits" as if this is some nefarious action that countless people do not do themselves. I consistently have four people interacting or playing games on my account across both my Xbox devices.

If this was some attempt to deceive, she wouldn't have almost immediately pointed out this fact.
Did you miss the part where she claimed to have several favorite games and talked as if she was actually a gamer on Twitter before "Admitting" she isn't a gamer at all?

So why did she start this account only 1 month ago?

Shared home account? lol This is a great start. Xbox CEO breaks own TOS before first day.

2 days later....

Anyone with a double digit iq KNOWS you cannot be in charge of a business with ZERO knowledge about the good/service of the business.

Xbox is not long for this world but they have to at least FAKE an attempt to "save" the business to mitigate the losses/bleeding until DEATH

This makes no sense.

She created the account to "learn and understand this world" which I assume is the gaming world, yet she's dropping tweets about her top three games of all time, so surely she must already understand it?

In another tweet she said she's a fan of Chrono Trigger. Not really a series casual or non gamers would be aware of.

Personally, I don't care if she's a gamer or not. It really shouldn't matter. All that matters is that she is a competent leader. The fake "Hey, I'm one of you" isn't doing Xbox any favours because most people can see right thought it.

Because that's an AI bot responding.

Beep Boop :messenger_robot:

To be fair, that isn't really true. Several past gaming executives weren't from gaming, and some did an amazing job like Reggie Fils-Aimé.

Twenty five years of selling every console at a loss. Billions upon billions lost subsidizing perpetually third place hardware.

You and I apparently have VERY different ideas of what constitutes "success".

When your peers are Zune, Windows phone, and Surface which lost untold billions to be the butt of jokes, yes selling 200 million Xbox's and billions of games is a resounding success.

Hold on.........................she said she's a fan on Chrono Trigger?! :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Man this hoe lying bruh! lol!!! So she's a fan of games that date back to 1995 through 2021, but doesn't understand how Xbox Live or a GameTag works? Come on son!

Fan might be the wrong word, but she claims to have played it at least.

She said it had been ages since she played it and asked a poster if he had "done every ending"

It's all a bit odd, this constant need to be accepted as a gamer.

I don't need Shuntaro Furukawa or Hideaki Nishino to post on social media and tell the world how they're massive gamers. I don't even think Furukawa is on social media 🤔

AI goes 01001001 01110100 00100111 01110011 00100000 01101101 01100001 01100100 01100101 00100000 01110101 01110000

Only bender bender will be able to understand this.

Should a person that's trying to "learn and understand this world" be in charge of it?

I understand that CEO's don't have to be experts about everything relating to the business they're running, but they should have SOME knowledge when getting picked for the job.

Any chance she let's turn10 make a next gen Forza Motorsport? It says they still have 100 staff there.
To be serious, Forza Motorsport (the last one) is one of the worst examples of introducing someone to gaming. You get a very sterile game that's trying to look professional and serious everywhere you look, while Forza Horizon is pick up & play title literally for everyone.

Yeah anything is possible and if Xbox cancels all hardware yet this afternoon I wouldn't be overly shocked

That said I would still put lots of chips on their next gen hardware is still coming
I think what will change won't be whether there will be hardware or not, but more so how much effort Microsoft/Xbox will put into launching the hardware.

Like will there be a huge marketing push or will they just "paper launch" it and leave it at that?

Phil Spencer was a MS suit who put on a gaming t-shirt and had a marketing team to convince everyone that he was a 'real gamer'. The same shtick isn't working with the new president because people have wised up. It does tell us everything we need to know about MS' view on their gaming customer base, though. The general public too.

Maybe I'm dense but I didn't see her admitting to the AI posts, it only looks like she says she got her family separate Gamertags to play on so they're not all the same account.

I dunno, I'm not terribly optimistic but I didn't get the sense she's faking gamer valor or anything. Zero achievements in red dead and 100% in Townscaper is not a "pro gamer" signal.

The only thing that could really be interpreted that way is her "top 3" games list and even then, plenty of people who don't touch games played and loved Goldeneye. Many people have pointed out that she was super young when it released, in my case it came out before I was born and it was still a big part of my childhood so it's not out of the question. If she really did like Goldeneye, not out of the question she may have played and enjoyed the original Halo. And Valheim, that's a normie game that had tons of buzz lately. Not any less believable than if she had said her favorites were Fortnite or Minecraft.

So I dunno, is she faking that? I'm not sure it matters. You'd think though that if she were trying to get gamer cred she would've made different choices.

I gamed with Phil on several occasions and while he wasn't great at games like PUBG or Warzone (he held his own) I can assure you he is a gamer

I'm referring to how interns played his account to increase his gamer score. Playing games and marketing someone as 'a real gamer' are very different things, imo.

Bro, she said she was a fan of Chrono Trigger, lol?

When the fuck did she play that? I haven't even found time to play that since youth and she is out here throwing out Chrono Trigger and Goldeneye.

lol

Kind of same thing, clout chasing. But it worked, maybe because it was funny. And resonated with the xXx audience.

No this was cool. There's a difference. It was bold and it gave gamers what they wanted (a release date) in a style that they liked.

It's when I knew the whole thing was BS. I was already thinking it was BS but when she threw that out I was just like "Damn they are just doing the same old shit".

What is AMAHRAHASA?

Her gamertag.

She shared it in response to people doubting that she even played games.

They really thought that all that activity stuffed in to just 6 weeks wouldn't get scrutinised and that people would be fooled as a result.

Just insanity really.

We can say LOTS of things about this old codger... but at least he never publicly tried to be something he is clearly not (he never even tried to be charismatic, and he has the charisma of a stone, for example)
He even learned to shut the heck up not to put in his mouth, which for him was something.

Oh wow. Now I'm curious if she has any business interest in this site. Like.....is she some co-owner or does a friend of hers own this or something? I just don't trust this lady lol
Yeah I thought the same thing, checked the "about" page and the twitter and couldn't find anything, not going to put more effort behind it but I suspect she created the site lol

They are all a bunch of fakes.
The only true gamer CEO was my boy Jim Ryan.

Here he's pictured finishing his second no hit run of Bloodborne, his favorite game.

"I checked out some PS1 games recently and said "Why would anyone want to still play these games, they look horrible!"

Literally could not care any less.
She plays, everyone BUT her plays.
Who gives a flying fart.

It's insane how much people care about nonsense.

The new CEO of Xbox is not a gamer.

When she got an Xbox and set it up at home. Her family descended upon the console and played and bunch of stuff.

She's too naively innocent of gaming to have tried to deceive anyone intentionally with it, and isn't making up a story about it. Will she save Xbox? Probably not, but at least she isn't full of shit.

possible that she was blindsided by this promotion and thinks she needs to scramble to gain gamer trust
Whoa.. what belief in the Xbox product and org and great succession planning when the CEO position gets handed out like candies to someone that least expect it.

Do they promote people with a delayed Secret Santa game? Do they pull promotions out of a hat on random Fridays? What the heck is going on there 🤣?!?
