When the system is off, its only listening for the single voice command -- Xbox On, and you can even turn that feature off too.
goodbye family video
How can anyone OK with this?
To those who are OK with this, you sure you read this right? MS basically show massive middle finger to you consumer and you are 'OK'?
I swear if Sony follows the same shit I'm out. Fuck this shit.
I'm used to Steam.
The only thing about Xbox One that is worse than steam is it's 24 hour internet check.
It's still not an ideal future for video games though.
Welp, i have the feeling that the PS4's policies aren't going to be much better.
XBL has always required broadband.
This actually sounds worse than before. Now publishers can completely deny you selling your used games, even at 'participating' retailers? Yeah, say goodbye to used games.
I'm surprised and disappointed at the people who think this is ok. This is pretty bad.
Xbox One E3 Conferrence |OT| Everything was true, nothing is permitted
It just fits so well, I had to say it twice
Actually one thing is a bit unclear:
Does that mean that 10 accounts have access to one library, or that ten systems have access to one account?
I'm still very curious what their plans are for Gold.is xbox live gold going to be standard?
I can only imagine their hope is that the "general public" won't even know any of this.My head hurts trying to understand this.
What is the average non gaf-gamer going to think?
How on Earth is the general public going to be able to make sense of this?
Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friends house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.
Congrats MS, you've made a console for Scumbag Steve.
I have a reliable connection.
I don't buy used.
I don't sell my games.
I hope more mainstream media outlets start reporting on this bullshit.
That's great for you, and the XB One sales will reflect the same percentage of the overall demographic you take up.
It'll be real fun once your internet connection drops for over 24 hours locking you out of all your games.
You act as those Sony employees may have say in this matter. I have no idea, but these types of things are rarely in a vacuum. Industries tend to follow practices.
Well, uh, this actually sounds pretty good, for the most part.
But I do have three points I think are worth mentioning:
What. Like... once to a PERSON, or once, period?
I have a huge problem with this.
THIS
IS UNACCEPTABLE
Flat-out, 100%, unacceptable.
If I buy a game, I expect to be able to resell it at will. If I want to resell it on ebay or Amazon, I should be able to do that, and make, y'know, $20-30 off a game I sell, rather than the $5 or whatever that Amazon or Gamestop would offer. Also, this seems to screw over smaller retail chains I buy used games from that aren't gamestop.
And then let me wait ten to twenty minutes while it downloads.
Then again, none of my friends have said they'd be anywhere close to an Xbox One.
You can't sell to people you don't know (ie. selling a game used w/o going through retail channels approved by MS)
Effectively prevents private sales and kills the possibility of a bona fide used game market in any form.
So sneaky... I didn't catch it at face value. You can't sell it privately. It forces people to sell at 'participating retailers'.
