Probably the least I’ve spent on gaming at this stage in the year since I started full time employment at the age of 17 (14 years ago).

It’s by design.

Tackled some amazing games in my back log. Going to play some more amazing games from now until the end of the year: Pokémon Platinum, Black/White 1 & 2, Portal 2, Divinity 2 Original Sin, Hallow Knight, A Link to the Past and Minish Cap in my backlog.

Spending and shopping less, playing more. It’s great.

Had to renew my subscriptions

Gamepass: £92
PSN: £60

I used to think £39.99 was rich for XBL in the 360 era.

I essentially still view this as a £150 a year tax by Xbox and Sony to use online, albeit now with some games thrown in.

Still think Sony’s model with the PS3 was the best we’ve ever seen. Free online but the games on Plus were so good I wanted to subscribe. That’s the difference.

It can be a bit misleading I guess. I spent £92 but that's for 3 years core which converts to 2yr gamepass.

Sony is just yearly.

Regardless of the talk of gamepass it keeps pushing games to me. Like I got to play Dead Island 2 the other day, fully completed on co-op with a mate. Never would have bought it and won't really recommend it but there's usually something to play. Meanwhile I then only spend less on games I actually want. Can't decide if its good or not really
