Mr Moose
I assumed that when I talked about generations people would understand that I was talking about across the entire generation, but maybe I need to be more specific for people like you?
Games are already not selling on the PS5, with the best selling game on it only managing to hit 67 000 copies. That's absolutely terrible. Launch year console sales aren't indicative of the whole generation. The PS5 will sell less than the PS4 over the generation.
The PS2 did 23 million in Japan.
The PS3 did 10 million in Japan.
The PS4 did 8 million in Japan.
Do you see a trend? Combine that downward trend with the abysmal software sales of the PS5 and it should paint you a pretty decent picture of how the generation is going to go.
From what I can see, the PS4 outsold the PS3 in its first year too (PS3 did 800k in 2007, 400k in Nov-Dec 2006, so take most of november and all of Dec out of 2007 and youd likely be looking at around a million in the first 12 months). Didn't end up well for the PS4.
