1. Richard Pryor

I strongly urge all of you to buy his "...and it's deep too!" 9-cd box set. It's really great, and features some unreleased stuff.

Richard Pryor = <3

76. Robert Schimmel

He should be alot higher. I saw one of his specials on HBO (Unprotected), and it was the funniest standup I had ever seen. His delivery is great.

I wonder how chris rock feels being nestled between Pryor and Cosby in a list of the greatest standup acts?

I'm going to add props to Steven Wright. Not enough love for that guy.

who couldn't love this face?

Bill Cosby and Chris Rock need to be swapped, but otherwise, yeah, I agree for the most part. Woody Allen's old stand-up stuff is fucking ace. Rhino reissued it a few years ago, I'm not sure if it's still available.

Pete Carroll Owns Me
Where is Mitch Fatel!?!?!! Ok I know he's not nearly popular enough to make a list like that but I love that guy.

I saw him live last year and he was very funny. His whole muffins obsession cracked me up. That and he was obsessing about a girl in the first row.

I personally think Eddie Izzard should be a LOT higher up on the list. He is one of the few guys that had me laughing so hard my sides started to hurt and almost lose bladder control. He is funny as all hell.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
I can't believe the only female in the top ten is Rosanne Barr.

- not to say that the rest of the top ten is invalid... but to say Rosanne is the greatest female comedian?

Dave Atell should've been on the top 20. Very funny guy:

"I couldn't have sex with a cow, because I'm lactose and tolorant. I'd have sex with a horse, because you always have a ride home."

Dennis Miller

I've seen this guy on Leno and he's horrible. Mind you, he's trying to crack jokes in the middle of a dynamic conversation, maybe his pre-written stuff is better. But God does he suck donkey nuts.

Personally, I think George Carlin should be higher. And I don't care how old of a comedian he is, at #42 Flip Wilson is overated.

His HBO show and stand-up was/is pretty damn good.

He also made some comment on Leno or Conan once that had me rolling a year or so ago. They were talking politics and the current administration, and he quipped on Cheney's health, saying something about Dick Cheney's heart skipping more than Richard Simmons on his way to an N'Sync concert.

Eh, you had to be there, I guess.

Good to see Ellen did well, although she should have been the only woman in the Top ten, Not Roseanne Barr

Jesus Christ. David Cross is like, one of the only stand-ups out there who will go dark on you. He deserves a higher place on this list.
