Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 |OT| Musou Horny Unicorn Edition

Ugh. Right now the game is shoving Those Who Pass By missions down my throat. I'm actually getting pretty sick of Garrod being annoying (can I put some one else in the Double X?) and Scirroco being so transparently evil.

I guess because I only had the initial rank 1 plan for his Gundam. (the prize for the mission seemed to be a rank 3 suit)

There are no set "prizes" as far as plans go. The plans you get are always entirely random.

Though for some reason the game LOVES giving me rank 4 Nu Gundam plans.

Harder missions lead to better plan-drops. But don't worry too much about difficulty.

I've been getting a bunch of Rank 4 stuff and it's pretty cool. More importantly I can finally put cash into giving mechs special skills and all that other good stuff.

That's why you just go trolling the missions with Lunamaria, yes!

So it seems we're looking at $45 worth of DLC total, huh (assuming the prices remain consistent)?

I think I'll pass, Koei.

I might get the missions if they are actually new maps.

Does anyone know how to better my Friendship with Knight Gundam?

so i beat the main "storyline" (i assume all starting points will diverge to the "for peace" campaign?) with Haman in 18 hours, but there is still unimaginable amounts of content left, haven't even hit level 4 plans for the Suits

Was playing Haman/Qubeley whenever i could, ~ level 36 with her now

If you haven't completed "For Reform" yet, you haven't finished the story.

So I did what I thought was all the story missions but now a new set opened up with requirements of having like lvl 4 friendship with 20 people and stuff, do I have to do these as well before getting knight gundam?

Well, of course! you have not yet seen the real ending of the game.

Man. Not even done with the story missions (close though!) and I'm starting to feel a bit burned out. Think I need to spend a couple days playing other things. Love Musou games, but after a while the inherent repetitiveness does start to get to me.

I'll be right back at it tomorrow, I'm sure.

There are no new maps if the JP DLC content is anything to go by.

Also, playing as Knight Gundam is the fastest way to boost his friendship.

Well he only is on level 2 right now so I can't use him as a pilot. Does just playing the suit count for him?

I also wonder when new history and relationship missions unlock. I now have like 20 people on friendship level 4 and nothing new is popping up. I only have 3 challenge missions left.

Eh? He should be playable on one of the special missions.

Also, a lot of the main pilots should be lvl 5 before the history missions open up.

I'm trying to unlock the Reform missions, what is the fastest way to get a bunch of people to lvl 4 friendship? I'm guessing the obvious answer would be friendship missions?

Do a combination of using them as pilots, partners, and friendship missions.

Cool, thanks.

On a side note, was Destiny Gundam in 2? For some reason I don't remember ever using it, but I would definitely have because its pretty badass

The destiny from Gundam SEED Destiny? Wikipedia says so. I really don't like it that much, the dash attack you get from it using square, square, square, triangle is bad for killing lots of mobs, and not great for juggling.

I'm asking this because I'm planning on getting this game sometime next week and just want to confirm some things. Is the Exia gundam in the game? Not really a deal breaker, but I would really like to play a melee specialist, and the 00 seems like a piece of shit to me with its cannons and lasers.

Speaking of Cannons and lasers, can I play as Turn A's gundam and Heero's gundam wing? I'm asking because gundam wing was my favorite in DWG2, and Turn A ranks as one of the better gundam series for me.

Again, not really a deal breaker, but how many units can go into flight mode in this one? I really liked just cruising around like that.

Last question, is Lockon's gundam from 00 available? Is so, how is it, combat wise?

I was speaking more in terms of design, but yeah, the dash attack isn't the best. However, its perfectly serviceable for juggling if you just switch to two squares before triangle. That seems to work for a lot of movesets that knock away at the end of the square dash combo.

Oh design wise? Yeah, it looks pretty nice. I really wish they would have included the Savior / Providence in the game. I really liked the Savior, that mobile suit was awesome. I didn't know why they didn't put in rau le creuset though, so sad about that.

Yeah, so I couldn't even stay away for a day. :lol Finished up the story missions. Now onto the 16281639836 other things I have to do. :lol

Well I can't play that special mission because he is only on friendship level 2. On 3 people get playable as a pilot. You see my dilemma? ;)

All I've done so far have been about a dozen of the tutorial missions with Amuro, a new one keeps getting added. Am I doing it wrong?

I've only used Nu Gundam and have yet to touch the Lab to develop or customize anything

The tutorial missions will stop adding new missions eventually. The last one is Graduation exam.

Also you should develop some MS in Lab to raise the tech level so you can add new skills to MS.

Kind of cheap of the game to give no achievement for finishing For Peace or watching the credits. I guess I will switch from Setsuna and play as Banagher in that Unicorn Gundam? I have it already maxed out and its quite epic.

I love the games animated cutscenes.

I think I'll skip the DLC if it isn't free. I remember the first 2 iterations of the game having free DLC. Those were the days..

Been playing the game since yesterday and love it but online play is uh a complete joke? Have cleared all the missions except for about 5 that I haven't done yet, but all the missions thus far are the equivalent of playing beginner in a DW game. Is there a way to make them more difficult or are there harder missions that don't show up for default?

You get like 3x the gold and spend about 1/5th the time in a level compared to Normal SP. The giant mechs are insanely easy unlike the really difficult (well for me anyway) time I have with them in SP. It's especially noticeable with a mission like Twin Peaks where it's still really freaking hard with 2 players, but with 4 it becomes a complete joke.

It's like online basically only exists for farming gold and exp. Pretty disappointing.

So those with text as black boxes, are they Japanese players? I can't see what they wrote.

edit: lol yeah they are, hilarious English voice chats.

That's exactly why it exists. Well, that and so Koei can say "Look, Western reviewers, we've got online!". I just have this hunch that if both this and DW7 hadn't been released in the US, they wouldn't have had online at all. It's extremely evident that Koei put next to no effort into their netcode and online modes. Which is exactly why online quests give you so much more money for so little time invested. Because nobody would play online otherwise.

Yup, Japanese. Koei apparently removed Japanese text support for the US/EU releases.

I'm having a great time with it so far. I keep hopping around from pilot to pilot and Gundam to Gundam just to try out different things and so far I'm enjoying most all of them.

Big surprise for me is the Turn A Gundam which I never really used back in DW:G2 but I really dig in this game. Char and the Hyaku Shiki was my "go to" for single player last time around just because the melee attacks were so fun and flashy but I can definitely see myself shopping around much more this time.

Do I need to spend some time leveling my pilots up before I head online? Or should I just jump in at any point?

They actually made Turn A worse in this version over 3, but he can still be quite fun to play with.

Go ahead and jump online, great way to get level and money and some of those early plans to make suits stronger. I would recommend sticking to the first four or so online missions though.
------------------------------------

I finally got the 100 missions trophies, that was both quicker then I thought it would be and actually rather fun. Hopefully there will still be people, say a Haro Operator lover, will still be there to play missions with me in a few months when I can get back on.
