Epic Games Store is giving Alan Wake: Remastered for free if you buy Alan Wake 2. (Game is currently %55 off)

For anyone intending to play AW remastered this is important:

Change refresh rate of monitor to 60hz and turn VSync on
These bugs seem to be tied to the monitor's refresh rate. Lowering the refresh rate of the main display to 60hz through the Windows display settings and turning VSync on seems to largely alleviate this issue, but some visual bugs may still occur

I played through it earlier this year and kept getting the infamous voxel explosion issue along with some physics issues. After I did that it fixed everything 100%.

Shame it's not designed to be run beyond 60fps and without vsync but apart from that the updated version is pretty good overall.

Don't forget to scan the QR codes with your phone as you come across them.
The vertex explosion shenanigans seem to be a Zen3 issue, weirdly enough.

I played Alan Wake Remastered earlier in 2023 on 5700 XT + R5 3600 at 1440p120 with FSR2 Balanced (CyberFSR mod) and I never got the vertex explosions.

Tim Sweeney looking at the bill for AW2 and then the sales numbers.

Personally I wonder if it was really that expensive to develop AW2. Control did not cost that much to develop after all. Remedy seems to be quite effective.

bought

also researching why epic games store is bad, personally never had a problem with it for games like RDR2. hopefully not dumb reason

Is it the same lack och enemy variety and flashlight only style of combat as in AW1?

If so, then i'm out 🥺

Staff: "Mr. Sweeney, about the Epic Game Store..."

Sweeney: "Shut up! Here's what you'll do next. Send a blank check for Alan Wake II, make it EGS Exclusive for PC and digital only everywhere else! No Physical, No Steam! How about that?"

Also Tim Sweeney looking at EGS sales in general and bumping the coupon to 33%, to get some life going.

I have to say I dislike Epic, but at 33% off I’ll probably buy a couple games that aren’t on Steam.
Yep it's been a few years now and most people still treat EGS as a place to redeem free games, not as a legit digital store.

hey fuck you early adopters
C'mon. This used to be the norm. I get it, I paid 35 for it a few weeks ago and haven't gotten very far so I am thinking where is my 10 bucks and free AW copy for a few seconds. But then I am like, good for those who waited. It seems like a good game and Remedy deserves to have a hit, so buy it check it out.
