I'd say save this for later and either play 3 or New Vegas, NV preferably.Haven’t played Fallout since 2, maybe it’s time to try this.
I’ve heard good things about NV. A bit different in roleplaying mechanics and not just brown correct?I'd say save this for later and either play 3 or New Vegas, NV preferably.
I've never played Fallout 1 and 2 before, but I've heard from fans that New Vegas is the truest to them, so you may like that one more.I’ve heard good things about NV. A bit different in roleplaying mechanics and not just brown correct?

Yeah, different.I love New Vegas buts seriously stop with that talking point. Both games are worth playing, just for very different reasons.

Are perhaps running on last gen consoles? That shouldn’t be the case in PC. Also, there’s a planned next gen update for the game so loading times should only get better.I bought the base game for five bucks a few years ago. The loading times were bad enough to make me quit ~10 hours in. Loading into the overworld from the main menu after starting the game? 5 seconds. Entering a building, then zoning back out into the exact same area? Fucking 2-3 minutes.
Nooooooooo! Stop! Go back and play fan made Fallout 1,5.Haven’t played Fallout since 2, maybe it’s time to try this.
No, this was on PC with the game installed on an NVMe SSD.Are perhaps running on last gen consoles? That shouldn’t be the case in PC. Also, there’s a planned next gen update for the game so loading times should only get better.
I’m not saying you’re wrong though. That’s definitely a downside of the game. Loading times weren’t that long in the older entries.
Really? I actually played that short bit but stopped when the world outside was just some brown depressive wasteland. I get the post apocalyptic theme but come on if I’m going to immerse myself in a world for 100 hours or so I need something that will cause me to go ”wow!”.I mean most of the complains about FO3 intro is the long ass intro that it does but it’s certainly an unforgettable moment for a lot of people especially when you leave the vault.
You have to understand for most people, it’s their first fallout game. Then you are stuck in a vault for a couple of hours. That’s where the expectations lie. That you will be navigating sewers or other vaults similar to Metro even if that game did release later. Suddenly you get to see this huge landscape and your expectation is blown away. You mean there’s more?! Then you look at your world map to get directions via your pip boy and realize just how huge the map you’re allowed to explore.Really? Oblivion had a great intro and ”coming out” moment.
I'd say it's a good deal if you don't care about the narrative pacing of the main story and it's disconnect with the open-world design. For me, that was the biggest issue with Fallout 4. Nevermind the asinine meta game bullshit with settlements (you can ignore these, thankfully). It's obviously more of an action-RPG than the first Fallouts and even Fallout 3 but I don't mind that personally.Just a quick heads up for my fellow gaffers, Fallout 4 GoTY edition is on sale over on Steam.
The Game of the Year edition features the Far Harbor and Nuka World DLC, as well as a ton of other stuff, and it's listed at £8:74, and the individual DLC content is also reduced by quite a bit.
That's a phenomenal price for such a large amount of content.
So, if you still haven't played the game yet, or have it but want to get the DLC dirt cheap, there's never been a better time.
It's too good a deal to ignore.
Haven’t played Fallout since 2, maybe it’s time to try this.
Ah yeah then I understand. I had exactly that happening in Oblivion, was my first The Elder Scrolls. Coming out of that cave at the beginning and seeing the world outside is to this day my absolute favorite start in a game. You have to understand for most people, it’s their first fallout game. It's worse vs Skyrim SE but better vs OG Skyrim. Wabberjack also solves a lot of hard work in modding now days. So do Nexus collections.
Unless you have to have some mods not in a particular collection and even then you can usually take out stuff you don't want and can add other mods (as long as you know what you are doing with Bethesda modding).
Bloody hell, that's a lot of play time.Good value but now I'm stuck with Fallout 76.
I quite liked that initial section in the vault. You have to understand for most people, it’s their first fallout game. Then you are stuck in a vault for a couple of hours. I tried it at launch and got bored and never touched it again. Ever since it got mods on Xbox I’ve been curious to try it again but still haven’t. My main annoyance was how much it tried to get you to do the base building. I hope Starfield doesn’t frontload that as much as FO4 and just has it there outside the main quest for those interested.
Do mods make it more enjoyable? May sound like a dumb question but I like Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim with or without mods; I don’t know if they would change FO4 enough to my liking.
Exactly. There’s maybe a 30 minutes total of forced building in the main story. Everything else is optional and can be ignored.
Yeah, it's a shame because it's such a rich game world with so much lore.Dang. It has been nearly 8 years already since this came out and I played it for the first time. It should have been on sale for $10 a while ago. Seriously, who has not played this yet? I'm afraid to wonder when we will get another single player Fallout game.
Certainly, the mods allow you to tailor a new bespoke experience.I tried it at launch and got bored and never touched it again. Yeah I bought it when it was on discount, I think at $10. I never thought of spending that much time playing and I didn't even buy micro transaction. I'm just having good time leveling up, playing events with other players (not PvP), building up base, etc.Bloody hell, that's a lot of play time.

Nuka was great as well! Definitely worth a play.Far Harbour is great, I haven't tried Nuka World yet, but it's supposed to be good.
I heard it's a great slice of content, so I'm going to grab it 100%.Nuka was great as well! Definitely worth a play.

Did it get a PS5 patch? Got the PS4 version but don't want to start over again in 30fps.Got the platinum for it on PS5 back in the day.
not yet. But it is expected to come out this yearDid it get a PS5 patch? Got the PS4 version but don't want to start over again in 30fps.
Patch or 60€ definitive super special deluxe next gen give me your money edition?not yet. But it is expected to come out this year
It seemed it, until the east side of the map crapped over every save I had on a fully patched game and went into a slide show meltdown until it locked up the Series X..Great game that got poo poo'ed by babies, and at that price it's an absolute steal.
Great game, although when I bought it for PC earlier this year looking at starting a new playthrough, I found that the game crashes to me around 5 minutes into the intro segment every single time :/
Nah. I meant PS4.Did it get a PS5 patch? Got the PS4 version but don't want to start over again in 30fps.

I have had a few crashes so far- nothing major. Anything odd occur before the crash happens?Since this topic is still hot, can someone explain the easiest way to put the bugfix and anti/crash mods on new vegas_
It's the epic store version.
Thanks.
P.S. do i REALLY need the mods? i don't care about bugs unless they are gamebreaking.
No crash so far.I have had a few crashes so far- nothing major. Anything odd occur before the crash happens?
when is the next gen update coming?
