UPDATE! 3/30

Ok guys, Gamestop took down the list of games so the link won't take you there. The link will work once they green light it again. I've confirmed from CAG that stores running the midnight DSi launch will also start their sales on 4/04 evening instead of 4/05. So if a store near you is launching the DSi you can get a leg up on the sale and get it down in an evening. No list of prices yet, good night for now.

Buy Namco Virtual Museum Arcade or I will eat your face. $14.99 for 9 XBLA games and 20+ other titles is an INSANE deal.

Also Chrono Trigger DS is like a hundred times more tempting without the Square-Enix tax.

I'll be looking at these:

Valkyria Chronicles
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Chrono Trigger

I'll probably only walk out with one though.

EDIT: Damn, too bad I already threw out my Game Informer :(

I think I'll get War of the Lions and Dracula X Chronicles (and a PSP 2000 to play them on? That's the preferred model, yes?)

How is Exit?

Are there any other sales valid during the time? The Game Informer Coupon, + discount card if you get things used (which are presumably scaled down by the NEW prices?)

All PS3 owners would be doing themselves a favor if they picked up Valkyria Chronicles for $30. It really is an excellent game.

While it pleases me that so many people want to get Valkyria Chronicles, it saddens me that you all only think it's worth less then $30. I guess I'm just a special case because I love StrategyRPGs.

Hopefully though, this will just increase sales of the upcoming DLC (oh god...can't wait) and cause them to make a sequel.

Yeah if you can find a 2000, people prefer those because you can still install custom firmware/homebrew on them. But if you're buying a new one you're probably going to get a 3000. I'll be REAL surprised if there's still new 2000s in boxes somewhere.

Yeah Drac X Chronicles and FFT are awesome games. They'll keep you busy a long time...

Exit is fun from what I remember playing on the PSP version. Its one of those think as you go kind of games. I think its right up your alley if your posts tell me anything, you'll enjoy it. Be forewarned though the game has an interesting choice of difficulty jumps.

I think B2G1 free may happen that month or the next month but not that weekend. With the DSi launch & PS2 price drop I don't think they want to overwhelm us....at least I hope.

Thank you very much Lambtron, I'll be updating the OP with the prices right now!

So how is Metal Slug 7? Any better than MS4 and 5 (I hope)?

I thought it was alright, not a hardcore fan of the MS series so I can't really compare them to the others. Personally, I think they're all the same. So if you enjoy the core expereience, this doesn't deviate from it too much.

The worst part of this game is NO co-op multiplayer. That sucks. They have a "Battle school" which is similar to the mission mode of Contra 4. Kill x amount of enemies, don't get killed, speed run this stage, etc. Nothing too exciting but adds replay value.

This game also wins the award for most worthless bottom screen. It's just a map... yeah a map. That's it. Incase you forget to walk right to advance the screen.

VC will probably be the first game to sell out because of the sale.

I think its as good as those games not so much "better".

Anywho my definite pick up are as follows

Exit
Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles
Final Fantasy Tactics
MLB Power Pros
Valkyria Chronicles

$10 games? Can anyone really avoid the allure of such a economic win? Best part is I think I have a gift card lying around somewhere :D

Anyway have fun making a list everyone, I have to hide under a rock for the next 8 hours to study.

Anyone know if the Devil May Cry set brings the standard edition of DMC3 or the special edition?

Special Edition. It's actually the only way you can get a black label version of DMC3SE.

Special Edition.
Thanks! I'll be picking it up then.

I had to trim down my own list. I probably won't be getting all these games as I'm tight on money.

DS
Final Fantasy 3 14.99
Sonic Rush Adventure 14.99

PSP
FF I 9.99
FF 2 9.99
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles 9.99
Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions 9.99
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Plus 9.99
Phantasy Star Portable 29.99

PS2
Devil May Cry Greatest Hits Set 14.99
Resident Evil: The Essentials 19.99

Its the special edition with Vergil and the fixed difficulty. I know this has nothing to do with your question but call me a machoist but I prefer the hard as balls difficulty of the original.

Nice deal on Namco Anniversary. 9 XBLA games that sell for $60 (Pac-Man CE!), several more Arcade games including stuff like Dig Dug II and Galaga '88 that don't appear on many compilations, and three PSP remixes (Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig-Dug) all for $15.

It's finally at the price that it should have been when it first came out.

Oh, just noticed another game on my PSP shopping list was part of this sale. Metal Gear Portable Ops +. Could somebody clarify the PSP MGS/Acid games? Aren't some of them improved remakes, or expansions to other ones?

How reliable are used PSPs? Should I get Gamestop's additional warranty?

And how is the PSP version of the FF1? I hear the difficulty is nerfed too much?

And I need some kind of memory stick, right? It has no internal memory that will last me a while?

neojubei said:
Hopefully I find a GS that does not rip open the boxes of the games on sale.

One store I went to already started setting them up. They're told to gut all of them since they're going to be on the floor (they don't want live product in the game days boxes).

What worse is once they play and realize how great of a game it is they will want a sequal. But we won't get a sequal cause it sold like shit when it was released and well worth the full price (which people will soon find out).

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Definately getting

PS3: Valk Chronicles
PSP: Castlevania X, FFT
DS: FFTA2

Is Sonic and the Black Knight and Unleashed(360) REALLY not worth checking out even at these discounted prices?

360 Unleashed is good. Black Knight is wretched shit.

Hm. I may pick up GH Aerosmith for 360 so I can have some use with that 8 dollar guitar I found at Circuit City.

edit: How's Tomb Raider Anniversary (360)?

The PSP FF1's mainquest is incredibly easy. Even if you take out the ability to save practically anywhere you'll still sleep through the main game. There are a ton of optional bosses to fight from previous FFs(or well in this case...future FFs) and some of them can be sort of challenging(plus they drop crazy good gear..though again that just further kills the already lack of difficulty). Problem is the dungeons they haunt really suck(too long and mostly dull, though they try to mix it up at times).

If you just want something to kill time on though it's not a bad deal for 9.99.

Oh and if you're going the used route on the PSP you'll definitely need a memory stick. Unless you're going the homebrew route a gig is probably all you'll ever need.

Dammit. Nothing for the systems I own, and lots for the ones I don't. :( I need to pick up a PSP, and fast.

which is still not cheap enough. It'll be $20 within 6 months easy.
Is VC that bad of a game to you?
