Back down off of that Anniversary high, it looks like.

TBH I kinda expected it after extra 1600 gems we got from the anniversary. No way MiHo would give us more than they originally intended. I can only imagine how painful it was for them to give us those damn wings lmao

One way or another "CASINO ALWAYS WINS "

Looks like some leaked Tart voice lines confirm that overarching story leak from a few months ago that
Scaramouche took the Gnosis and ran from the Fatui. If this continues to play out the way of the leak, Scara will kill/seriously injure Tart when they catch up with him.

Just tried a couple of new gacha games and all around it was pretty rough.

Brain dead or nonexistent gameplay on top of hundreds of random resources you need to farm and collect.

Genshin Impact wins because it's pretty straightforward in that regard. You collect heroes, weapons, some artifacts + gold and exp. That's it. A classic RPG stuff.

Imagine if our heroes had some extra slots for rings/Energy gems/some affinity shit or if our weapon upgrades were also random or each weapon required its own type of ore etc. etc. Or if to ascend our heroes we would need not only a simple constellation, but also like 5 types of materials...

After GFL and GI I just can't get into most gacha games because of that insanity.

GFL isn't so perfect in this regard too btw, support HOC units has some batshit insane idea of collecting and upgrading literal Tetris cubes and fitting them into weapon's slots.

hoc-tetris-placement-annotated.png

Even GFL creators admitted that it was a mistake to include such stuff in game instead of making it just a support unit without such complicated upgrade path.

I'm glad that GI is not like that. Yet.

Granted, I don't try to score high in Theater, but I find GFL completely playable without touching the chip stuff. I do the chip building for the dailies/weeklies, but I haven't once actually done anything with them. GFL is the perfect low time investment side game. The higher level stages are actually kinda strategic, especially S clears. The waifus are good, the soundtrack is good, the collabs are good. I probably spend 15 mins a day in the game outside of events and don't feel like I'm falling behind. Not only that, they usually run their events for like a month, so you have plenty of time to casually clear it (or do like I do and wait until the night before it's over and rush it).

That said, I think it's in a completely different world than Genshin. Genshin is more like if Destiny had gacha and party switching. For those that aren't obsessive like the regulars in this thread, I think it's perfectly reasonable to just play it when a new patch releases, see the new content, then duck out until the next one. Other than obtaining gacha resources and freebies, the events are MOSTLY worthless, with a few notable exceptions (like the Fischl/Mona event). It's a shame too, because if Genshin cut out the gacha completely, I think it would have been a successful live service game on its own. But it wouldn't have made billions of dollars, either.

I remember reading this leak and mix into believe or not, but since we're getting Childe rererun, is kinda make sense

A few points from a JP magazine interview from the devs:

 1. Golden apple archipelago wasn't created from scraped Inazuma map, it's completly new, a small number of devs from Inazuma team created this map.
 2. Every island from Inazuma has a theme. (Yeah, I can definitely see that from Watatsumi and seirai, two of my fav Inazuma islands)
 3. They made a lot of effort to optimize Inazuma content for mobile. Things that worked on PC and PS just didn't' work on mobile which led to constant crash.
 4. The first fight with Raiden, they want players to have a desparing and intimidated feeling, in contrast with the second fight, players now have support from all those that suffered, the will of people. The resolute stack and the final burst derived from this concept.
 5. The difficulty of puzzles in Inazuma actually had been lowered several times, but it's still too difficult for some players. (I guess whether they will decreae future puzzle difficulty depends on the feedback from the survey)
 6. For activities that have good feedback, they will use them in future version with more improvement

Oh cool, they're actually going through with it? Just when my opinion changed on him...

By activities I hope they mean events.

Ah okay I ran it through DeepL
Q11: Have you considered reviving some activities?
A11: The activities that have better player feedback will be reintroduced in a better form in future new versions. As for the storyline, we won't cut corners and will continue to create the right stage for the characters as much as we can.

Man what in the hell is eating up an extra 20GB on PS5? Aloy's bow effect?

Aloy boobs and ass.

At this rate with the 10-30GB updates it's going to end up like CoD MW.

Call of Duty MW size is no fucking joke. What tha fuck is up with that game?

I can easily see Genshin Impact following the same route. We still have others countries to release.

Developers forgot compression exists as we entered the PS4/ONE era it feels like. I remember file size became a marketing tool for a period of time.

Damn, new island is great. Love the fog mechanic and slowly clearing more of the island. I'm down to 4 Electroculi until rank 10 statue, immediately had enough sigils for 40 sakura tree and Inazuma realm. It told me that I was going to lose my crops if I switched immediately though, so can't have that. I'll wait until Thurs when my crops are ripe. I'm assuming there's a future quest to take us underground on the new island because there were at least 2 Electroculi under the ocean that I couldn't figure out how to get to. Looks like at least one domain is time gated too.

The new island main quest was perfect too. It set up some interesting lore questions, and nicely introduced the island and its new mechanics. Not too long, not too short, wasn't voiced but who the hell cares. I'd rather MHY make 20 more quests like that per patch than have super involved fully voiced quests once a patch.

Now that we've seen it all, I can safely say that Inazuma is the best nation so far by a landslide. It already was after Seirai Island, but this new one seals the deal. Great atmosphere, great music, a nice set of varied mechanics and good exploration. I could have done without the balloon enemies, but the new rock wolves aren't too bad. Damn that corrosion sucks though, it hits your whole party if one character gets nicked by an attack.

Can't wait to dive into it tomorrow. We still have Enkanomiya or something to go as an area in the future, right?

Yep, but that could be anything. A whole island sized area, or a domain, or anything in between. This is the last of the known content.
At the very least, with 6 islands the quality of their design was high for the most part and a level above Mondstadt and Liyue. Still lots of secrets to explore, as well, with new WQ and Hidden ones.

Yep totally agree. At first I was against the multiple island layout because I thought it'd make it feel small, but they added a ton of verticality and smart design choices to make each island feel like a mini nation in itself. Really impressed with the overall quality of the exploration areas. If only they wouldn't have rushed the Shogun storyline. I still think Mondstadt has the best archon quest.

Yeah. Hopefully Chasm, Enkanomiya, and Sumeru have the same design quality. And I agree, I think they nailed the plot developments, but the structure/pace of Mond's still the best.

Enkanomiya (Japanese: 淵えん下か宮のみや "Abyssal Depths Palace"), originally known as Byakuya no Kuni (Japanese: 白夜国 "Land of the White Night, Midnight Sun"), is a location near Sangonomiya Shrine. It can be entered via a deep pool, and legend has it that the Watatsumi people originated from here.

Sounds like a domain.

Best case scenario we will get small underground area similar to the 1st Inazuma's island.

No way it will be the size of the whole Inazuma (basically an Atlantis lol). Doubt that it will get anywhere close to the Ice Mountain too.

It can definitely be an underwater region if Enkanomiya exists to be the sub-region of Inazuma like Dragonspine and Chasm are. It doesn't sound like a domain to me though since the Ryugu-jo palace of real life is known to be quite large which is what I'm guessing it's based on.

I'm a Japan-addicted and I still prefer much more Mondstadt - I like the openness, the exploration is better, there are less things crammed in small spaces and there are no weird colors just for the sake of it. Gimme green pastures and blue skies.

Guys I have a big problem.

I can't delete the mail with Aloy in it. What do I do now? This damn thing won't expire for an entire year.
Yep, a few of us had this realization last month. Just hit claim and move on. There's no sending a message with this one unfortunately.

Unrelated, after seeing more leaked Itto stuff, like his splash art, character card, etc, I realize that the part of the design I don't like is the face. He looks like a little kid with eyeliner, and then a grown man's body. I think if he had a more mature face, the design would be fine.

More 2.3 leaks:
AD6GCXX.png

Looks like new artifact sets for Itto and Kokomi (why do that stuff when she's gone from the game already?) Also a new 5 star sword which looks like it'd fit Albedo, probably the weapon they made for him. Meaning no Ganyu rerun in 2.3. By the time she's back in the game it will have been a full 12 months since her first appearance. Fuck MHY with their shitty rerun system. I guess it was pointless hoarding all those primos during Inazuma waifu season. Fuck.
