What? Those are racist words now?

I feel that this place can come back. When I lurk it's mostly because I see a lot of low effort posts and don't feel like there's much discussion to be had. But here and there I find that there's a good number of good posters left lurking just like I am most of the time...
ERA is just doomed by it's politics. On the surface it seems like a good forum for gaming but although everyone posts with proper punctuation and there are a lot of posts but rarely did I ever read anything enlightening. This is probably because dissenters don't want to risk the stress of getting made out to be a racist because they disagree with a Kotaku article or something.
So, I choose to post here in hopes that the high quality posts will come back as long as a good atmosphere can be sustained. The 2.0 update was great and right now I really feel like the moderation is neutral and fair.

IGN Executive editor of reviews
Are you being intentionally dense?

He was port begging for octopath traveler on PS4?What did Colin say or do that was racist? Did I miss something?
They’re taking down everything of Miucin’s. I hadn’t even considered that might be necessary, but it makes sense.
What is your relationship to the plagiarizer? Are you him? Family, perhaps? Close friend? It has to be something, because the way that you keep going to bat for this dude
Check the post history. This person has been championing Filip while wearing a tinfoil hat all along.
How is he a racist? Is this according to the ‘business times’ lolHe's also a racist. So there's that too.
The only victim? He's been caught plagiarizing a multitude of reviews, have you not been paying attention or something? Plus he committed the biggest sin in his chosen profession, why the Hell should he not have been fired? It is you the one who is wearing a tinfoil hat mr Conspiracy theorist.
I have no relations to Filip Miucin.
My intentions are simple, I'm a humanist who is against cyberbullying. In my opinion, the situation have gone too far.
The clickbait Gods from youtube and IGN team thought that they were acting like professionals with their big talk about ethics, morality and guilt but in reality their actions were harsh and savage.
What they have done to Filip is equal to cutting young person's hands for stealing an apple.
I believe that some people SHOULD have the second chanses. If it possible to fix everything, why not to try? Filip Miucin shouldn't have been fired.
He could have given a chance to appologize for his actions properly, rewrite the review and restore his reputation slowly, step by step. Proving that he is capable to write an original texts.
Keep in mind, that the only victim of this situation has got more than 50 000+ subscribers to his channel. If it is what plagiarism mean, then I would like to be plagiarised all the time.
No harm would be done to anyone if clickbait Gods wouldn't overcomplicating the situation to the point of absurdity and the bunch of amateurs who work at IGN wouldn't act like medivel savages.
It saddenese me that from all possibilities, we have the ugliest and mercyless one. A young stigmatised person.

In journalism, plagiarism is the kiss of death and you there is no recovery from it.
The issue is compounded by the fact that IGN made money from FM stealing other people's content. It is you the one who is wearing a tinfoil hat mr Conspiracy theorist.

Filip should be educatated for his actions.
I've already wrote that what IGN is doing isn't a journalism.
For example, during the Star Wars Battlefront 2 backlash and lootbox gambling controvercy,
they were the only channel on youtube that didn't cover those news. Like nothing important was happening.
They are advertisers and video games promoters, not journalists.
Plagiarism in advertisment is something new to me. The video game notes, neogaf comment and reviews that Filip was stealing have very insignificant value. It is harmless crime.
Filip should be educatated for his actions. The bunch of amateurs that work at IGN could teach him how to write a basic trivial video games review, but instead they have maimed him for the rest of his life.
Those bunch of amateurs that work at IGN have cut this young persons hands for stealing "apples" because they thought that is what "professionals" would do. It is actually funny to imagine how those medivel savages that work at IGN came up with an idea to throw Filip under the bus

Glad your ignoring my comment.
At least we got to know more about Dead Cells
What Filip Miucin did was wrong and stupid.
But he shouldn't be fired for being wrong and stupid.
I believe that some people SHOULD have the second chances.

I can only image how IGN interviews go, "So whats your experience?" Guy getting hired, "Well I've worked in fast food for 20 years, but I own a Atari 2600." Manger, "You're hired."
Given the massive vitriol and attention this situation has created, I totally believe what he said about the threats to his family. What reason would he have to lie about that? Whenever the internet has a chance to act stupid, I promise you, without reservation, it will act stupid.

What this "reviewer" did constitutes as copyright crime in multiple countries. While to a layman it may appear as a harmless crime, there is a clear connection to income from his texts. As such, IGN actually is forced to terminate the employment. If this was a one-off incident, I could've seen IGN standing up for this guy, but as it was continous and numerous, it's just a common sense to terminate the employment. Ask yourself, is Filip vital enough for IGN for them to risk multiple lawsuits?I've already wrote that what IGN is doing isn't a journalism.

I don't think he's racist, but I can tell you the gist of what he said.No. i honestly have no idea what your comment was attempting to portray. He's said "stupid things like asians and irish"? What does that mean?
I don't think he's racist, but I can tell you the gist of what he said.
He was basically attacking the idea of white supremacy, where everyone who isn't white is held back in society by institutional racism. He used the example of Asian people as a rebuttal to that claim, because on average they're higher earners than any other group in America.
