My monitor died a sparky death tonight, so tomorrow, it's time to start shopping for a replacement.

My budget isn't huge -- actually I didn't have one as this was unexpected -- so I'd like to get something relatively affordable... but I am weighing the pros and cons of LCD vs. CRT. Mind you, if I get an LCD it will be on the lowest end of the price spectrum.

Any suggested monitors? If not, does anyone know of a place that takes a good look at the monitors available on the market?

If your desk can take it, get a 2nd hand 21-22" CRT, even quality models can be had for cheap and they are brilliant for gaming.

You should be able to pick up one like mine for $100-$150 US:

Mistubishi Diamond Plus 200 - .24 dot pitch, 1600x1200 @ 85Hz.

You eyes will thank me.
