Is The Expanse the most accurate representation of humanity in the future?

Its roughly set 300 years in the future and all the problems humans have today are still relevant or even amplified.

Technology - Seems like a realistic portrayal compared to something like Star Trek even in the archer and kirk era.
Guns that use standard ammunition is quite common, don't see any lasers. Space spaced weapons seem to use rail guns that are probably not feasible to downsize for a human to use. And Missiles that burn fuel to move.
Still stuck in our solar system with no faster than light travel. Having to have injections to resist the high Gs of traveling in SOL at high speeds.
Using magnetic boots because they don't have some magic device that can create gravity.
Mars still not terraformed - actually terraforming a planet seems like a pipe dream even with 300 years in tech progression.
Human bodies being fucked from living in space or on a low G planet. No magic science to fix this.

Politically -Humans yearn for self determination, especially when they see others having freedom.
Mars breaking away pretty much echoes US declaration of independence.
Belters being treated like shit and bullied for superior economies and military forces - Humans have been doing this since the dawn of time and still continue to do so. The new form of racism which is alive and kicking.

Economy
Earth being overpopulated with no jobs is pretty much happening right now and more so as everything becomes even more automated. There's no perfect planet where everyone can chill and do nothing if they wanted.

I'm sure there's more.

It is more realistic than people are used to, but it still has a lot of unrealistic genre conventions. A planet like Mars or Earth has only one dominant political faction representing the whole sphere? "Stealth" ships in space? Heat management in ships ignored? No real protection from ionizing radiation? Why are we sending meat sacks to the belt instead of robots?

The Expanse is a classic series, one of the best ones I have watched so far.

honestly this seems more realistic to me than any scenario where we live in huge spaceships. even a virus that killed like 1% of people it infected had our society hanging on by a thread. we are one big war or act of god away from everything completely falling apart.
Hanging on by a thread?
Did you see the outside world much changed when you emerged from lockdown? Do you have trouble finding food and clean water? Do you have to shit in the street? Do your cellphone and your internet only work for minutes a day and only in optimal conditions? Do you have to move on foot or bike only because fuel is extremely rationed? Has essential technology been wiped out? Has the production of medication stopped? Is there a media blackout?

Until people stop arguing insignificant matters on social media, you can be sure our society‘s core foundations are safe.

Mad Max is quite close to everyday life for the poorest areas of our present world.
Our “progressed” society is definitely going the way of The Matrix + Brave New World, and the aforementioned people are pretty eager to go in that direction without even noticing.
