the first PS1 (dont know about the PSone though I don't think so) don't support componet output

the same cable works on the PS2 and PSTwo though

No original PlayStation (including PSOne) will work with the component video cable or optical audio cable. Everything else is universal.

Unless you have a really old PlayStation--the one with standard AV outputs. Those cables won't work with a PS2.
