Second generation Navi is supposedly not going to be produced until summer 2020.
They really don't have any other option on the release window.
That also means there won't be enough consoles for everyone that wants one.

I would think they would both wanna launch before it, so people aren’t spending all their money on Black Friday.

Plus stores will have those launch game buy 2 get 1 specials like they did in 2013.

XBOX Scarlett, november 23 in 2020 at $549, too.

Sony knows they're on top and they're probably waiting for their spies to discover when NextBox is coming to launch either right after or right before.
They already showed they're ready to spill the beans about next gen just to steal NextBox's hype.
But if I have to choose now:
NextBox = mid November 2020. U$499,99-549,99.
PS5 = Beginning or End of November 2020. U$499,90.

PS4 will be sold for at least three years after PS5 releases as it will go at least a decade before Sony ends production. There will be plenty of consumers who will still be buying the console once it gets a lower price. It's still $300 for the Slim 6 years later despite launching at $400. The Pro is $400. Once it hits $200 which im guessing will be during E3 2020, it will be flying off the shelves even more and if it ever hits $100, forget about it. People will buy it just to have an extra one because at that price, why not?

Not everyone will be jumping into PS5 (or Scarlett for that matter) day one. PS5 and no games for $500 or potential PS4 for $200 with a bunch of games for the same price? Plus the momentum is on their side due to the massive success of PS4 so why not carry that over into PS5?
