I have specifically mentioned Midori in the thread title so that people who think she's bullshitting don't accidentally click on the thread. So bored of people posting this person who goes by the Japanese name for Green as everything they say being the gospel.
Imagine the meltdowns here if Midori ends up having 100% rumor accuracy. So bored of people posting this person who goes by the Japanese name for Green as everything they say being the gospel.
Nobody actually keeps track of any of this well enough for me to care how accurate people say these people are.Imagine the meltdowns here if Midori ends up having 100% rumor accuracy.
Wasn't the PSP version of Tactics a Remaster, and considered the definitive version of it? (Genuinely asking)
The previous rumors mentioned it not being anywhere as ambitious or radical as FFVII Remake. Best to keep expectations in check. This must be a remake, right? There is literally no way they are taking over 3 years for a FFVIII-tier remaster.

In all fairness you can be "not anywhere as ambitious or radical as FFVII Remake" simply by not being a reimagining of a single game into an expanded trilogy of full length games. The previous rumors mentioned it not being anywhere as ambitious or radical as FFVII Remake. Maybe somewhere in between a remaster and a remake.
Well, FFVII Remake, despite its name, was more of a reimagining/reboot, rather than a conventional remake. In all fairness you can be "not anywhere as ambitious or radical as FFVII Remake" simply by not being a reimagining of a single game into an expanded trilogy of full length games.
Maybe they're giving it the Tactics Ogre: Reborn treatment and overhauling some gameplay systems as well. Day One either way. This must be a remake, right? There is literally no way they are taking over 3 years for a FFVIII-tier remaster.
We are long overdue for a FFT Remake/Remaster or Sequel for that matter.
There are two sequels technically. The Advance games have a very cheesy story but the gameplay is still there.
She didn't post any other specifics, unfortunately.I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY
Question is: Is Matsuno involved?

Possible, or perhaps a HD-2D rebuild of some kind.Over / under that this ends up being a port / remaster of the mobile port? Wouldn't be the first time...
Hopefully it is better. TOR is the worst version of the game.Hopefully it's as well made as the Tactics Ogre remaster.
Good Question. I wonder if his studio, Algebra Project is involved. However, I read one of his tweets a few months ago, stating he knows nothing about it.I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY

He also later tweeted that even if he knew about it, he couldn't say he did publicly as this would be for Square Enix to say.Good Question. I wonder if his studio, Algebra Project is involved. However, I read one of his tweets a few months ago, stating he knows nothing about it.

I lowkey hope that they'll just include both games.I hope we will also get tactics advance i actually preferred that over the psx title.

Who made Tactics Ogre Reborn? I'd reckon they'd task that team with that project as well and bring Matsuno on board again.I wonder if this is being handled by Yoshi-P's Creative Studio 3.
Algebra Factory handled most of Tactics Ogre Reborn, a company founded by Matsuno in 2016. I think you're right on the money to think they're going to be behind FFTR as well.Who made Tactics Ogre Reborn? I'd reckon they'd task that team with that project as well and bring Matsuno on board again.
Algebra Factory is pretty much a one man team lead by Matsuno as a planning and scenario writing company. He was involved in an executive, supervisory role, as the original game designer, the actual programming was handled by some other company.Algebra Factory handled most of Tactics Ogre Reborn, a company founded by Matsuno in 2016.
