(Multiverse) Can Sega compete better than the Xbox division against Sony Playstation?

Microsoft's presentation was very good, lots of AAA games. If Microsoft had patience they would have better commercial performance however Phil Spencer and Nadella want results so they are becoming third party.

Sega would never have 30 AAA games at a conference but what's the point of so many games if not all of them will be released this year, only about 6? What kind of strategy is this?

Considering all consoles besides the Switch are making themselves redundant by releasing games on PC.. And the fact that Sega hasn't produced a good console since the Sega Genesis, I'm gonna go with a "no".

Could they do a Wii U-like strategy and release a cheap console with PS5 power in 2027 ?
It's possible but not commercially viable, if they did something like that they would be humiliated.
or so to entice kids with a Sonic exclusive? Maybe, not sure if it's worth the almost guaranteed disaster, though.
When you say 'kids' you probably mean 'casuals and non-gamers'.

I believe that trying to attract non-gamers is not worth it but attracting casual gamers is. If a realistic lightgun were included in the package it would attract attention, however the legislation of several countries restricts realistic replicas of guns.

Funnily enough, Sega could have re-entered the Steam/PC Hardware market since their arcade boards were commodity PC's. The RingEdge would have competed nicely against the PS360 with the library of Steam. Followed by the Nu for the 8th generation.
