So i was surifng the web for porn yesterday and now for some reason my home page which I leave as "about:blank" now takes me to some "Search For.." ad page. In my internet options my homepage is still set to a blank page.. but instead of getting the blank page i get this stupid POS Search page. I ran adaware.. it found alot of processed and I had them all deleted but my blank homepage still remains as that stupid search thing.

Someone help me out here.

Tools --> Internet Options to change your home page.

Also try running Spybot Search & Destroy to see if that finds anything else that AdAware didn't.

Get Firefox.

Seriously, I was an IE user for a long time, and I even tried Firefox once several months ago and couldn't get into it. But I bit the bullet about a week ago and haven't looked back. It really is a fantastic program, and it's expandable as hell.

So yeah. Install Firefox and enjoy not having headaches over IE-related crap anymore.

However, I don't use FireFox anymore. I just got a new Powerbook and after installing FireFox and some extensions, it started acting funny. It was really really slow to load. So I just said forget it, and I'm using Safari which is also excellent.

1. Run *updated* Ad-Aware and Spybot first, looks like you did that
2. Run CWShredder
3. Scan with Hijack This!... this program displays everything in IE, legit or not, so if you're not sure what to delete, post your log here or at the spywareinfo.com forums

And yes, switch to Firefox when all is said and done
