Honestly, I put the blame for stuff like this happening on the way we have normalized outrage in western culture. The emphasis we've placed on people's opinions has gotten out of control. There's no articles that explain what anime art is or why people like fan service, but we do get articles upset it hasn't been banned yet.

Way too many people seem to take the stance that if they don't like something they have an obligation to harass and insult those who make that thing until they are damaged in some way. It's not good to take pleasure in ruining artists, censoring games or getting people fired but that is pretty common thing to see online these days.

I see a weird belief brewing up that harassment campaigns, personal insults and censorship is justified, usually with with an extreme accusation attached, like calling people Nazi's or pedos I feel like this climate has broken people's ability to reason and debate. It's mean spirited at best.

IMO, they're both pretty spicy for a large corporate entity that has a large under 21 audience. Frankly I'm surprised either made it through.

Responsible parents will oversee what their kids play, and will actually talk to them about the content they are playing. The only reason anyone has to watch something that offends them is because they chose to watch it.

If you're one of the offended's elite class and are offended by things like a guy sitting in a way that doesn't crush his own balls, a woman wearing something revealing, or someone having an opinion you dislike, maybe don't leave your house and just wait for it all to end. I am really interested in seeing what Microsoft does. Some of the games coming to the Xbox One look like they could be issues for Sony like DOA6 (DLC outfits down the line worry me here) and maybe Code Vein.

The one I have my eye on is One Piece World Seeker. It's on PS4 and Xbox and we saw there was some concern that some hot spring scene was censored in the PS4 trailer because it had so much fog covering skin very reminiscent of previously censored games. It doesn't mean it is censored but it is suspicious looking. Who would make a scene that looks like that? I am very interested in seeing if there is a difference between the PS4 and Xbox versions.

Video games are fantasy and can be an escape from reality, so I can understand why some people would want to see characters that they would rarely see in real life. Lots of males characters have unrealistic or above average looks and bodies, so why not women? The same reason most tv shows have a very beautiful woman or handsome man starring as the main character.
