Plot sounds interesting.
Hopefully multiple directors won't ruin the cohesive effect a single director had on the first S.
When's the HBO press release coming? Are they seriously still not at the point where all the deals have been signed? Aren't they supposed to be shooting soon?

I'm starting to believe that the second season will not air in February.

Of course it won't. Even if they start shooting right now, it won't be ready for Feb. But if they don't start shooting soon, it might not be ready for 2015 at all!
Haven't they already said that it will air in the Summer (the True Blood spot)?

Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn...
What a huge step down in actor quality... Loved the first season, but hard to get excited by that actor combo for season 2

Go to the casting thread, that's where people complain.
The negativity in that thread is driving me crazy.
If it was Fassbender/Mortensen/Elba or other GAF favorites folks would've complained.
I'm hoping for some Latino actors being cast. The Bridge has raised my standards on the treatment of minorities in a show.
we'll get a latino informant whose taking care of his sick abuelita while struggling to get out of the gang life only to be dragged back in time and time again.

FUUUUUUCK I THOUGH IT WERE CASTING NEWS.
Nope. There will be a new thread or a title update if there's news.FUUUUUUCK I THOUGH IT WERE CASTING NEWS.
I could have sworn that I read somewhere that they wanted to put out extended cuts of a few episodes. But when I looked at the Blu Ray on Amazon it said 460 minutes. Can anyone enlighten me if that ever happened?
All I remember was Fukunaga saying that original cuts of some episodes were near 90 minutes, but they were edited down-- I don't think they were ever promised to be edited back in for the home release. The blu-ray just has two deleted scenes totaling 10 minutes

For those wanting a True Detective fix while waiting for season 2.
Just a warning, some dark stuff in this clip.

I'm down. I've already accepted that the show peaked in its first season so lets see something different!
Just a warning, you should read the threads you post in. =P
Yea the last two episodes were pretty disappointing. The whole thing just ended up going nowhere after all they built up.just watched the last episode, why is it so bad? reminded me of the "ending" of adaption

no clue. show's main storyline was about these two cops after this maniac, and at the end. Didn't even know there were people upset at itthey get the maniac
my main complaint with it was that solving the mystery wasn't all that interesting. They just kinda go "Oh."
That said, the show was largely character focused, which leads into the other complaint of Rust having a major character swerve with his near death experience. I didn't mind it so much, but a lot of people didn't buy his change and felt it undercut a lot of the shows themes.
