Twitch Launches Hot Tub Category

I have to congratulate the "hot tub" streamers. They were able to completely grab twitch by the balls. No matter what Twitch decided to do, it would have to suffer:
  • Ban the content, and Twitch will pretty much be seen as the Puritan Police (policing on what female streamers should and should not wear)
  • Leave the content, and Twitch advertisers start complaining (along with parents etc.).
This solution, while completely ridiculous and hilarious seems to allow Twitch to have the cake and eat it too.

As for the hot tub streamers, they saw a business opportunity (all the power to them, I have nothing against them) and have indirectly forced Twitch's hands to create an official category for their content. What a time to be alive. I can't wait to see what those streamers (along with others) will do to trick Twitch once again. I'm legit admirative of what they did.

You're really "admirative" of assholes who have no interest in gaming, streaming indecently showing tits and ass, on a gaming platform meant for watching games, taking advantage of kids?
Twitch stopped being a platform about watching games since 2018. Now video games are just a part of Twitch.

I'm admirative in the way that those streamers were able to unintentionally put Twitch in a bad situation. By playing with the rules and without any real political message being presented, they were able to make lots of money and toy with a billion-dollar company.

Pardon me if I laugh at the sheer craziness of this whole situation on the sidelines. I'm really excited to see how it goes.

Ironic... Twitch has become Justin TV again...in a few years, just gaming will split off again to be its own streaming platform again. Mark my words..

Since this is not gaming related (the category, not the site), I give this thread some pages before it becomes a political discussion and admins shot the thread with the Ion Cannon.

Biggest thing for me is this really cements Twitch's decline as what was supposed to be a platform for game streaming.

Yeah lol that's exactly what's gonna happen.
Or, the just chatting category will become it's on platform and eventually a gaming section will once again rise up etc. etc. etc.

A good chunk of these chicks are going to be fucked when their looks go away and their tits start sagging in few years lol
Some of them will have made more money than I could ever hope as a software engineer. And i'm fine with that.
As for the the limited amount of time they could do this, I'm sure it's fine: basketball/football/soccer/etc. players are doing ok even though past 40 they'll never be able to perform again.

I mean true. Good on them for finding out how to make actual money, it’s a bitch to do that in this world. They just better hope they have good spending habits, or they’ll be like most of the washed up old athletes who didn’t have good spending habits:
Broke.

The easiest way to see this is the following:
- People found a good business opportunity on Twitch
- There is a demand (the viewers willing to sub + donate) and there is a supply (women wearing bikinis)
- The platform used to provide the service (Twitch) agrees with/tolerates the existence of such service (ie. the content is not banned and is in line with the rules).

I'm personally not a "consumer" of such streams, but again, it seems there's a well-sized demand for it and Twitch doesn't seem to be against it. So hey, all the power to them.

I’d like to congratulate the half naked women in hot tubs for winning the war against the might of a billion dollar company’s attempt to create a kid friendly platform. Didn’t expect it.

Guess they have never heard of PornHub or Camster.
People who make this comment are missing the key features: Those two sites aren't 13+, they have more harmful ads, and they don't have twitch chat/emotes.

Yup. Ultimately that’s about where I’m at. If it’s unacceptable, the market will absolutely let them know.

Just go straight to allowing porn and the transition will be complete
The problem with allowing porn is that the site (even if it's just a part of it) will be considered 18+ by the general population/media/advertisers. Twitch will get blocked by firewalls (in schools/workplaces/etc.) and will kiss ad money goodbye. Parents will forbid their children to ever access Twitch as well. Total catastrophe all-around.

What Twitch is doing right now is tiptoeing while trying to keep as much money avenues as it can. It's certainly not in a comfortable position. Things going any further than they are now would be detrimental to Twitch. I imagine they're mindlessly trying to come up with a long-term solution as we speak.

Let's hope that no minor decides to start a stream in their bathtub. Oh dear the consequences...

I'm just happy that these hot tub streamers have a safe space to advertise their onlyfans. Had Twitch cracked down completely, these poor entrepreneurs would have been forced to find another method of separating thirsty nerds from their money.
It's a shame since the philanthropy they partake in those tubs that are hot.

Many talents that really dwarf and put them up there with Einstein, Eddison, and Tesla.

I never understood the watching boobs for hours market. There's many better options. Sometimes, they don't even wear a bikini. Watch it a couple of times a day for ten minutes at a time and that's all most should need.
